Jenny: What should women do to keep their liver healthy?

Any general guidance/

suggestions/tonics?

Emotions, sleep, diet and drugs affect liver's flow and drainage ( shu xie) function.
Reducing any overload of the liver's working state and increasing the nutrition and the blood level
of the liver is for the protection of liver's health.
Women's physiological functions include menstruation, pregnancy, giving birth and breast-feeding.
According to TCM, all these functions heavily rely on the foundation of the blood level and
function of Qi. Women's issues, such as menstruation disorders, ovarian cysts, uterine cancer, and
breast cancer have a direct connection with the liver's function. The liver's function of flow,
drainage and storing of blood and Qi production and its physiological function play a very
important role in women's lives.
Keep emotions in balance, especially anger. Anger harms the liver. It interrupts and changes the
course of the flow of all body substances regulated by liver, such as Qi, Blood, Jing/essence and
liquids etc.
Keep healthy sleep patterns. Go to bed around 10:00pm and get up around 6:00am. Between
11:00pm-3:00am is the most significant time for a person to be in a deep sleep. At this time the
gallbladder and liver channels are most active for nourishing Yang, blood detoxing and new blood
production. The liver stores blood and provides the blood for movement and activities during the
day and flow back to the liver at night when one sleeps. If liver's blood is deficient or stagnant, so
many mental and physical issues would occur, issues related with eyes, ears, tendons, nails,
menstruation, insomnia, depression, metabolism, immunity, brains, heart, blood vessels and cause
other organ's dysfunction, etc.
Don't over use eyes. Liver opens into the eye. The liver's health will affect eyesight and likewise
overusing eyes will hurt the liver.
Limit alcohol consumption. Too much alcohol harms the liver.
Control drug use. When there are food options for healing, don't using drugs or minimize their use.
Drugs toxify the liver.
Last, make an effort to do some study on food properties and healing, in order to make the right
choices of food for nourishing Qi and blood of the liver. Choose a healthy lifestyle and change bad
habits.
I can only point a direction and study has to be your own. Any knowledge that is not the result of
one's own effort one will not respect much and benefit from.
Hi Jenny, I purchased your healing DVD where you use the holding the ball posture
whilst seated. I was wondering if you could explain what might be happening to me while I practice
it. Every time I practice it I cannot stand it more than 20 minutes due a strong burning / aching
sensation in my lower spine directly oops it my Lower Dantian area. It's so bad it causes me to want
to inhale and compress my abdomen area which seems to subside the feeling for a few minutes
before it returns again. Any idea what this might be?

When unpleasant or uncomfortable sensations arise, try your best to relax and don't try
to direct energy in any way. Are you practicing any other systematic Qigong besides Yigong? Two
different energetic practices should not be mixed together. If when you do Yigong practice you don't
feel it's opening you up or beneficial, you should drop the practice. It may not suit your condition.
Pick one practice that you feel suits you and don't combine it with any others. Did you have any
physical health issues before?

Follow up question from previous answer

Hi Jenny yes at the time I was mixing practices I was practicing Zhan Zhuang and MoPai Nei
Kung. I haven't practiced either for about a year. The feeling I get seems to be the same size as I
hold my hands the distance apart in the holding the ball posture. So the bigger the gap the wider the
feeling. I do have allot of chi energy even though I no longer practice my previous practices it's still
with me which is strange I thought it would dissipate once I stopped my old practices.
If I rest my hands onto the palms of my legs the feeling goes away that's how I practice I hold the
posture then when it gets really irritating I just drop my hands to my legs for a rest then I repeat. I
had Kidney failure back in 2011 which I cured my diet and practicing my previous practices. The
only reason I stopped practicing those is I felt to Yang I couldn't go to work with sweat dripping off
me I felt like I was getting to hot.

Unusual Sweating is not too much Yang. It is Yin and Yang disharmony. It is the result
of Qi and Blood, Fire and Water in body not balanced. I suggest you to see a Chinese medicine
doctor. You still have a Kidney deficiency and Yin deficiency. That is probably why you have
burning sensations when you do your practice.

Follow up question from previous answer

Will holding the ball posture help with this? I've spoke with people before on Yin deficiency they
advise to eat more Yin foods and herbs I take in lots of fruits and vegetables as well as Fo-Ti.

Whether holding the ball posture will help this or not is individual. Obviously it did not
help you. Otherwise you will not still have the problem. Sometimes, getting help from a
professional is necessary. It not only saves your time and prevents your condition from getting
worse, sometimes it may save your life. A stitch in time saves nine.
If you don't mind, I would like to share our conversation in our group. I will write a comment on it.
It can help others who have a similar situation to know where to look for the cause.

Follow up question from previous answer

Yes that's fine I also feel pain in my feet mainly my right foot which casuses it to want to go out and
rest 30 degrees to the right as if it's twisted. This comes no matter what meditation I practice as soon
as the energy builds I get painful feet mainly right sometimes it's around the energy points
sometimes not, I'm putting it down to a clearing effect my theory is it's activating and purifying the
energy points in the feet I know with the Kunlun System they say in the book it's possible to
experience a clearing effect I feel this is that hopefully.

To identify the cause of health issues is important. Don't be so quick to judge by

appearance. I have seen people blame this practice or that practice as the cause of their health
issues. On the contrary, their existing health issues probably were escalated by choosing the wrong
practices. You need to understand your health conditions first before making a suitable choice.
Misdiagnosis and wrong practices can delay your healing and even cause you more serious
problems.
A while ago, someone with entity issues explained to me that his problem began since he started
practicing Eight Section Brocade Qigong two years ago. This is a total misunderstanding. There is
no Qigong that can cause entity issues. It is that when you have entity issues you should not practice
any Qigong. It will not help you to heal and may produce the opposite effect.
To find a practice for self-healing is a good thing, but don't wait until the last minute to take action.
Hurrying makes you blind and unable to make an adequate judgement. Taking action in prevention
is the highest healing. Always be smart, be honest and be responsible for yourself. If you know your
limitations and don't want to spend a lifetime on research and testing your capacity, then spend
some money to find professionals for their assistance and be willing to follow through. Paying for
the help is respect for what you receive. Going just by hearsay may delay your chance for healing.
Life is short. There is no time for mistakes and especially repeated mistakes. Extending the field of
your knowledge can promote the best way for self-healing.

What is a good deed? I have helped others with good intentions and had negative
results for them or myself. I have tried to pursue things i think i want and found that my fate was in
the hands of others i didn't trust. These are, of course, not the only outcomes, i have had good
outcomes, but they seem to come so slowly, and require much care, and never seem to be
satisfactory. Are these simply obstacles along the way? I have been having a lot of trouble finding
the way forward.
A good deed is outcome derived from righteousness. Do what is the right thing to do,
not because of any expectations. The fewer expectations you have, the less disappointed you will
be. Fruits ripen in their own time. Karma carries over many life times. Broaden your view beyond
yourself and the present point. Establishing good faith in the hand of nature or your belief system
can help you find a way of moving forward.

Follow up question from previous answer

One more question, how can i tell the difference between pursuing a passion out of ego, or pursuing
it for the greater good? If its something like art, how do i know im doing it for the right reason?
Reason is super important to me, without it i wont have any motivation, i have little anyway. Do i
trust that a passion ive put aside for years because of all the bad experiences ive had with it should
be re-examined because i can't find anything else id like to do?

Examine your intentions and find the meaning of life. Motivation comes from love.
You have to love your life and what you are doing. Is following your passion harmful to yourself or
others? If not, follow it. If it is harmful, examine yourself to see where and why this passion arises.

Just two questions 1) How can we surrender? 2) By what exactly should we gauge
progress, by increase in health/easier breathing or increase in good feelings?/compassion

1. Surrender is recognition of the truth, accepting what is, being willing to let go all one's
attachments to personal desires and concerns, trust what is provided to our existence and
diminishing oneself by merging with something greater than our individual self.
2. Self-centeredness, fear, habit, dishonesty and ignorance decrease; wisdom, compassion and
happiness increase.

...How could you think that you don't make a difference?, If the blind are deaf to the
words of the guide, does that make the guide obsolete? (The question is in response to Jenny's
article of the Stream of thoughts, "...Endless doing and nothing really needs to be done. Do I make
any difference in the world since everyone lives on their own karma?")

The true change has to come from within. In reality, no one can change others but only
oneself. If I believe that what I am doing makes a big difference to others, I am overstating myself.
People's choices and actions are mainly driven by their Karma. If you pay attention, it is inevitable
to notice that sometimes even if one recognizes his/her intention has no virtue, still one will
sabotage oneself and intentionally build up all kind of excuses to support his/her actions. We have
no control of ourselves because the force of Karma is beyond our willingness. We have an unstable
mind. That's why hard training is needed.
People believe what they want to believe, listen to what they want to listen to and change only when
they are ready for it, not because of other's efforts. People need your help not necessarily because
they believe in you but out of desperation and laziness to make an effort themselves. As soon as
they are out of danger or step into a comfort zone, your advice is quickly forgotten and they might
even bite you back if they cannot continuously receive your service for a lifetime. Gratitude is not a
strong suit for humans. In people's eyes, you are good only when your service is needed. People
praise you only when you benefit them or your words please them. Why is the world full of lies? It
suits people's improper desires. Truth never will be popular as long as Samsara exists.
Then, why do I keep doing what I am doing? I am trying to change myself in every possible way to
make this life the last. I cannot change others, but certainly I can change myself. Doing without a
doer makes you free. I am aware that it is Karma that keeps the world in balance and makes a
difference in life. I am here merely to be a pointer and share what I see with those who have a good
karmic connection with me.

Follow up question from previous answer

Not everyone is like that, only 50-60 % are like that. Also, there are maybe more in the developed
countries?, I guess you only get to meet those 50-60% in your work?. I found that those 40% they
take you for who you are not for what you can do for them and very often they are the people you
wouldn't expect them to be at all. It's usually the people that care most about their outer appearance
that are the ones to do what you described.
Why is the world full of lies?, but is the world full of lies?, I read somewhere that 50% of the world
is ruled by Mara which would only make half of it made up of lies.
Why do people lie? I think the answer to that is actually quite simple : because they don't know the
benefits of being truthful. Honesty leads to trust and trust leads to joy. (No?)
People would know this if the Dharma were more widespread. I don't want to sound like a prophet
here, but it's my guess that over the next years the Dharma is going to become much more
widespread. People are unhappier than ever in the West, this makes it inevitable in my opinion.
When the time comes, you may already be dead, but your work will still be there. As for the people
that came to you for help, they may not change immediately, but when they are ready to do so they
will remember your words.
Your work is certainly one of the most unthankful. Having to do all that dirty work and not getting
the adequate thanks. However, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. You may not see the effect
now, but in time I am sure that you will.

I'm sorry it sounds negative to you. I simply tried to make my statement that no one can
change anyone but oneself, so I don't overstate the importance of my work or my influence. I
respect truth and respect Karma.
It is good to see that you are a changed man. As an example, I helped you with my work and
guidance. But be honest, did I change you or did you change yourself? If I changed you, you would
not be the same person you are today, because you received it too easily. Learning it the hard way
makes your lessons memorable. Now you are willing to do anything to change your status. Isn't that
great that you are on a better path now?

Follow up question from previous answer

Sorry, I didn't see your message till now.
Yes, you are right, I changed myself. Learning the hard way certainly makes a huge difference.
However, I am not really a changed man. All I am doing is returning to my roots, this is
characteristic of how I was a long time ago though I feel much wiser by now.(and hopefully am?)

You are able to return to the root that is changing. Confirm that. Saying is easy then
doing. Obstacles are still ahead. Now you are wiser, stronger and have a better direction. Make a
commitment to yourself. Say what you mean and do what you say. Unify your body, mind and
spirit. Humble yourself to learn. Learning is the result of giving. Be willing to give yourself away
and you will learn fast and mature fast. Best wishes.

Is observing for you the same as listening?, for me I found that I take in a lot of things
and tend to notice the important details. However I am very bad at listening to people. I am training
my listening skills at the moment by using the psychological technique where you need to
summarize what the other peron is saying in your own words and I found that I really suck at it.

Observing is a process where one consciously perceives information through your six
senses, such as seeing, hearing, etc. To be a good observer is a talent. For some it is innate, but it
can be trained as well if one can be objective. A good observer can see things that others cannot or
are neglected by others. A good observer can easily learn things from others' experiences.

Follow up question from previous answer

Ah I get it, observing is Yin/taking and listening is Yang/giving, no? What is a hub though, a
practice that balances both?

A hub is the core that connects with other parts. For instance the Spleen is the
foundation of postnatal existence. It is in the middle of the body and rules transformation and
transportation. It turns food and fluids into Qi and Blood and transports them to wherever they are
needed. It connects upward with heart and lungs (upper warmer) and downward with liver and
kidney (lower warmer). If you have body issues, start with tuning your spleen and stomach issues
first before treating other organs.

I've come to hear about your work from lovely comments about you on Dao Bums. I've
been exposed to cultish practices and dogmatic systems in the past. I am over them. My heart wants
a practice that can take me deep within and carry me thru my spiritual path with love and
authenticity. Sifu Jenny(or anyone here) where would you suggest I begin. I live in NYC and I am
looking for a sincere practice. Peace and Blessings.

Any practice to choose is based on the goal you want for yourself. A higher
accomplishment is the outcome of a higher goal. Be humble, sincere and willing to do anything to
reach your goal. That is fundamental and the ultimate quality a good practitioner needs. Be wise and
you will see the truth beyond the words of any teaching. Live by your principles and don't be
concerned about what others may think. You will not be stuck on a whining road and wasting time
with regrets. Don't be afraid of criticism or being at the bottom. One's manner determines one's
future. No quality teacher cares to waste time on unready students. Readiness is the result of
willingness to change. Learning can take place anywhere because the heart is the nearest source and
the perfection that you need. The external teacher can only show you a way to open it if you are
ready for it. Start with being a man to bring unity to what you say and what you do.

Deeply felt. These words touched my heart and echoed a truth within me I knew...yet somehow
forgot. Much Gratitude Sifu Jenny Lamb.

Could you say more about how Karma is a good mirror for oneself?

Karma is the natural law, cause and effect. It refers to action driven by intention that
leads to future consequences. What you are today is a reflection of your past. Your future mirrors
what you do today.

Hello Dear Sifu Jenny, I would love to ask if there are certain procedures in Western
Medicine treatment, that may be considered not harmonious and even harmful with Eastern
Medicine. For example, when comparing energy lose with the lose of Jing in relation to one's
cultivation, aging etc. How about the losing of Blood, like taking blood tests each time, would that
be considered harmful in any way, losing energy etc. in the Eastern Medicine view?
I ask in order to have better view of using of my physical body for cultivation and health.
Thank you very much.

Thank you for your question. I am not a doctor but since you are asking, I can only
share my personal view as a practitioner on the path of Tao. Good or bad is based on if it is
necessary. I like the Western medical technology on surgery, but surgery should be the last option,
the same with taking Western medicines with 10 or more side effects in exchange for one problem
when there is a Chinese medicine alternative. Chemotherapy saves some lives but hurts others. Each
individual has to decide, after consultation with doctors (Western and Chinese if possible), what is
the best course of treatment.
In Chinese cosmology, medicine comes from Tao. Heaven, earth and man are the three geniuses
(life forces). To understand their relationship and correspondence is the human science. Heaven is
Yang, earth is Yin, and man is in between. To obtain perfect health, one has to balance these two.
Their relationship is based on opposing and complementary. According to traditional Chinese
medicine, all diseases are a result of Yin and Yang's disorder. Disorder affects organ's harmony,
causes Qi and Blood deficiency, meridian blockage and moreover weakens one's Shen (spirit). I
believe that Chinese medicine can diagnose sub-optimum health before it can be found from
Western medicine's tests. Treating from the root cause to balance Yin and Yang is the strength of
Chinese medicine. It can refresh the body and lead to good health.
In the Yin and Yang theory, the Blood and Qi level are vital to one's health. They have a mutually
dependence and insoluble relationship, Qi is the commander of Blood, and Blood is the mother of
Qi. Blood relies on Qi to be generated, distributed and contained. Qi depends on Blood to be
generated, nurtured and carried. Without Blood, Qi disperses. Without Qi, Blood cannot move. Both
are equally important.
Losing too much blood will lead to death. As for losing blood by taking a blood test, I don't think
that will affect one much, but I would not do it too often if it is not necessary. It takes a lot of food
to produce a little blood. It's the same with Qi. For those who lack Qi, I would not suggest you take
energy healing as a profession if you don't have a higher source to back you up. Sufficient Qi can
resist external pernicious influences. Deficient Qi can cause illness and reduce the ability to defend
against attacks by evil forces. With both Blood and Qi, not only quantity is important, but quality is
more essential. For good health, make proper diet a part of your practice in addition to your
exercise. Since you have to eat, to produce the best result for your health, eat the most nutritious
and balanced foods. Medicine and food come from the same source from a Chinese medicine
perspective.

Thank you very much for such an elaborative and clear answer, It definitely gives me a clearer view
on Medicine and in taking care for the Body and Spirit's health. Much gratitude Sifu Jenny.

...Concerning my masturbation habit, don't think that I never wanted to change it. Oh
no I have wanted to for more years that I have been taking drugs for. This is just the only thing I
have never been able to control...

Addiction to masturbation will cause kidney failure

I am not saying that you should give up all sex of any kind. This is directed at those that addictively
use sex to relieve anxiety, loneliness or depression.
Jing , Qi and Shen (vital essence, energy and spirit) are the three treasures of life and the
measurement of health. Lack of any of these shows a decline of health and shortens one's lifespan.
Jing underlies all organic life. The quantity and quality of the Prenatal Jing is fixed at birth, stored
in the kidneys and is the root of Yang (the male principle of the universe that is considered light,
positive, and active). Yang can produce Qi, the dynamic force of life. The outcome of too much sex
or frequent masturbation is substantially losing your Jing. Losing Jing implies losing your Yang.
Without Yang, whether you are male or female, you will experience a sore back, tiredness,
weakened bones and teeth, and hair loss (this is different that natural balding for some men). When
you see a young man using his hands to support his back all the time, it is sign of serious Kidney
Jing decline.
Examine yourself. Is this momentary ecstasy worth your life? Is a few minutes pleasure better than
23 hours or more to suffer? Eventually, you cannot even produce a few seconds pleasure. Your
addiction becomes solely automatic behavior. It is like living as a machine without a soul. What is
the meaning of life? Finding a purpose for life can redirect your energy for better use or you should
get help if you cannot discipline yourself. With your willingness, your addition will gradually fade
away. Determination has to be strong to correct addictions. If helping yourself is not strong enough
motivation, find what is. Or ask yourself, if you want to become a parent someday, do you want
your children living like that? If not, take action to make a good example of yourself. Make life
worth living.

What about intercourse but no ejaculation with a beloved partner? Is there still jing
depletion?

To have sex without ejaculation by controlling or holding it may cause more side
effects than you want to have. Some Taoist or other traditions have such practices but few
successes. If you don't want to lose Jing, simply don't do too much. Every action has consequences.
Choose good consequences for life.

Dear Sifu: You mention some symptoms like a sore back and tiredness, aside of teeth
and bone weakness. What if the back pain and tiredness occur not with masturbation but when
having regular sex? Does this mean the kidney is already damaged or can it be related to other
causes? Is there a possibility of recovering using treatments and energy work (Yigong)? Of course,
sex activity needs to be closely regulated and its frequency lowered. Thanks for your insights and
wisdom over this matter.

How much sex is not too much sex depends on the individual. Some are born with
strong Jing and Qi and some are not. When one is naturally lacking in Jing and Qi, one certainly has
to spend less and be wise to make more effort to improve postnatal Jing. And, in general, as you get
older, less sex is generally necessary to maintain health.
If after sex one has a sore back and tiredness the next day, that is a sign that one has overdrawn
one's Jing. Reducing regular sex frequency is necessary and it may be better to stop completely for
a while. If besides a sore back and tiredness the next day, one experiences weakened bone and teeth,
tinnitus or frequent headaches or swollen legs or body it is a sign that the kidney is damaged or very
weak in its function. It really does matter what is the cause of the kidney deficiency. When the
kidney is weak, losing Jing is the worst thing one can do to oneself and sex is the biggest
contributor for that.
As I said, the quantity and quality of the Prenatal Jing is fixed at birth, which is the foundation of
life itself. There is postnatal Jing that one can gradually obtain through nourishing food and Qi
development. Of course powerful bio-energy treatments can provide fast healing for Kidney
damage, but it cannot replace the prenatal Jing.
All Qi gong exercises will improve one's health in general. Some are more specifically focused on
developing Kidney Qi or Yang than others, such as Strike wall with back in my DVD-Qigong for
Self-healing for strengthening Yang and any Dantian Qi development helps the Kidneys.

In general, i have heard that Dharma practitioners who get entities in them will
automatically remove these entities over time as their practice progress. Is it true that reciting
mantras and doing general Buddhist practice will increase the strength of one's energetic field and
thereby make the entity leave when the time is ripe?

In theory, what you said makes sense. In reality, I have not heard of anyone in our time
succeed at this. A Dharma practitioner in name is difficult to make much progress even without an
entity in them. "When the time is ripe", when will that be? We are living in the direction of aging
and death. Time is not on our side. If one's condition is getting worse every day with an entity
consuming one's life in progress, where does one get strength and time to win the battle?
Is it possible that an entity will automatically be removed by the host's practice progress?
Absolutely, if one is extraordinary. Then again, if one is an extraordinary person, one will not have
such an issue in the first place, as the true Dharma practitioner will always have a Dharma protector
to protect them to stay on the right path and not be harmed by any negative force.
I keep sharing what I know and what I can for the purpose of educating people to make a right
choice for life. Prevention is the highest remedy for healing.

In your website, you explained that once you have removed the entity, your client will
be entity free always. May I ask if that is always the case for people who have entities removed, or
did you do something special that sealed the body from further invasion?

I cannot speak for others. I know what I do by following two principles: first, not to kill
any entities, but offer them a better choice to leave willingly, so I don't create negative karma for
my client and myself. Second, I offer energy healing to change my client's causal body, physical
body, and teach them to live their life constructively. You can call that as sealing the body from
further invasion, because the body has been totally changed and will not be recognized as suitable
for entity dwelling. Of course, if one again intentionally invites an entity in, there's nothing that will
stop this. Just as if someone wants to commit suicide, nothing can stop them.
Through years of helping people to remove their entities, I have learned and recognized that for
entity removal, energy healing is the most important part for healing. At my earliest stage work, I
didn't offer additional days to do energy healing because of consideration for saving people's money
and the request was not for energy healing but entity removal. As a result of that, I learned a lesson;
most individuals have heavy physical and mental damage from an entity, and some also may have
karmic issues attached to it. Without giving enough energy healing time, even though the entity was
removed, the person will have a hard time for physical recovery by him/herself. Since then, when I
conduct entity removal, I always add extra days or time depending on the individual condition
healing needs. With the minimum energy healing beyond entity removal, I can at least treat the base
damage and build a foundation for people to follow my instruction and to do self-healing
afterwards. I also let people know if they want a quick health recovery, how long the full energy
healing treatment will be. The choice is theirs. At least they know where they stand. Some, for
whom I had removed their entity after I taught a Yigong seminar overseas several years ago, had
returned to me for energy healing and had a happy result. That taught me that energy treatment after
entity removal is absolutely needed. Therefore, I began to discipline myself to do what is right.
Make an offer for entity removal with minimum energy healing treatment, take it or leave it. If my
offer is too much for them, they can find help elsewhere. I have no reason to convince anyone to
come to me for help. If I do help them, I want my work to succeed in every case.

Jenny, I'd love to hear you speak for hours about this: "Taoists move energy that create
insight, Buddhists create insight that move energy.". Do you have any short comment on it?

Insight can be developed, not created. Buddhism develops insight through mindfulness
meditation. Buddhism talking about energy may not be the same as in Taoism, such as Yirya
paramita (commonly translated to English as perfection of energy) signifies more of enthusiastic
effort, diligence, attitude bringing virtuous actions.
In Taoism, energy work is mainly for producing a perfect body to obtain immortality. Moving
energy can remove obstacles and improve physical and energetic function of the body. Insight is a
deep perception of a situation or the understanding of a specific cause and effect in a specific
context. It can be the result of any effort, but of course it also depends on an individual's
intelligence. Creating insight is not the purpose of Taoist practice of moving energy.

Dear Sifu Jenny what is your view concerning the use of music with Yi Gong, either,
sitting or moving in a flowing dance like manner?

Using music is fine, if it helps you to relax and empty your mind. However, keep in
mind that Yi Gong is mind training. It is a method to focus on developing awareness. If music can
help you to reach that goal, it is good. If not, what you practice is no longer for the purpose of Yi
Gong. The checkpoint is always to see whether it is beneficial and it suits your goal. There are no
rules but only what fits the individual.

G'day Jenny, i have a question concerning yigong practice. Because i am tall i do not
feel comfortable practicing yigong while sitting on a chair, i find it hard to relax and move around. I
have tried standing on my feet and i feel much better. I am able to start the spontaneous movements
while standing just by holding my arms in the arm position without having to raise my feet off the
ground. My question, is this permissable to do it this way? can i cause problems for myself if i do
yigong standing up? Thank you for your time.

If you found doing Yigong suits you more in a standing posture and it is beneficial to
you, you can do that. Just be careful not to fall. Always keep your awareness on your body
movements. Nonetheless, the sitting position generates more movement and opens more body
channels since your toes activate first. It is also more safe to do it when you are on a chair. Since
you are tall, you may want to try with a higher chair or bench that suits your height. To measure the
proper height, when you are in a sitting position, your upper legs should be parallel to the floor.

I have been looking at your website and have heard many great things about your
spontaneous Qi Gong. I do already practice a form of Qi Gong but was wondering more about your
form. Would it be compliment to other practices? Also, I do not have any teachers around so learn
from book and dvd, is there a transmission needed to learn your form?

Yigong is one type of Taoist esoteric practice as a system. If your practice is some type
of system, you should not practice them together. If it is not a system type, for instance relaxation
Qigong, etc. it should be ok. Learning from my DVD "Qigong for self-healing" has guided the
practice properly for many people. You don't need any additional transmission. Of course, if you
can be present with a teacher, it will help you to activate your mind training faster.

Follow up question from previous answer

Thank you for replying Mrs. Lamb. I know there are some Qi Gong teachers here but I haven't
heard anything about them in terms of legitimacy. I am currently working my way through Terry
Dunn's Flying Phoenix dvd series and it is considered a complete system. Based on that should I not
work on your material as well? I have heard many great things about you via the internet which is
how I found your website.

If your Flying Phoenix Qigong works for you, you should stick with it. If you want to
try something else, don't practice two systems for some period of time. Pick one and practice that
one only.

Hi Jenny!! You mentioned,

"Yi is mind. Gong is work, skill, method, effort, efficacy, and achievement. Yi Gong is mind
training. It is techniques for awareness development. Through skillful techniques and cultivation of
one's mind, one is capable of reaching self-awakening. Self-healing or the appearance of
supernatural powers is side-effects along with the body and mind's awakening. They are not the
ultimate goal for Yi Gong. Nevertheless, training one's mind is a path to self-awakening. Yi Gong is
a process of studying, practicing and harvesting. Realization is the result of that cultivation and self-
awakening. Words cannot convey the knowing, the cognition, Gnosis or praj."
I'm wondering, does this mind development mean stillness and surrender? Or is it positive
affirmations?
Thank you so so so so much.

Not affirmations. Stillness and surrender may be results but are not the intention of
practice. Yigong is a particular type of qigong that can be used to develop awareness. When
awareness is highly developed your potentiality becomes possible and reality.
Best wishes for your practice.
Dear Sifu Jenny,
I am wondering if you could offer people guidance on how to live on this planet, especially in the
northern hemisphere, knowing that radiation from the Fukushima plant has been dumping into the
Pacific Ocean for almost 3 years. Life in the Pacific Ocean is dying. The west coast of North
American is being effected. It has been said by scientist, David Suzuki, that if a substantial
earthquake hits Japan, the last reactor will go and it's good-bye Japan and the West Coast of N.
America should be evacuated. It could literally be the end of the world as we know it.
I have been grieving deeply the loss of life and what may very well happen to life on this planet in
the coming years. Mostly I grieve how humanity can cause so much destruction and suffering. So
much stupidity and greed.
I do not ask for guidance out of fear but out of genuine concern for the future of life here, for my
family's safety. How to continue to walk a spiritual path knowing such devastation is occurring. I do
not want to react from fear but to walk in calm awareness and do what I can for my son, myself and
others.
I have some understanding that the state of mind at death is paramount and will determine the next
incarnation. I have an intellectual understanding that material existence is impermanent. I know that
I have much more practice to do to let go of all attachments. Other than having faith in Amitabha,
chanting, taking care of the body, are there other things you suggest would be helpful to see the
Fukushima disaster as an opportunity to awaken and to not get spun out into fear and chaos? How
do we take care of our bodies and protect ourselves from radiation exposure?
I hope my email is clear. I would deeply appreciate any guidance you have about this issue. I know
many others who are looking for guidance as well.

Thank you for your inquiry, but this is not a simple question with a simple answer. It is
related to life, death, action and reaction. In short, cultivating virtue is our best salvation in any kind
of situation, because our actions affect our future. As for practice, deep faith, fervent vows and
diligent practice of recitation of Namo Amituofo are the best solution for protection and liberation.
The benefit is immeasurable, but most people do not recognize it, believe it or trust it.
We are living in the time of self-centeredness, self-importance, and self-righteousness. Everything is
dominated by or developed for no more than feeding and enhancing our ego. We want our body to
be comforted by our science and don't want its side effects. That is not possible in our realm. Life
follows its own laws. We are responsible for every action we take and every choice we make. To
wish not to be affected by collective karma, one's individual karma has to be outstanding.
Don't worry. The world will not end from the Fukushima plant nuclear radiation. Humans will not
be all dead, but move on with adaption and mutation. We made our choice and have to live with it.
That is natural law. Searching for surface protection is no more than wishful thinking.
With that in mind, for a better life, cultivating virtue in the present is most important, instead of
waiting until the last minutes of life. If we all try to live in mindfulness, virtue, and respect for each
other (not only to human beings), the world we co-exist with will be more peaceful, beautiful and
less harmful. A healthy and happy life can then be established and expected for all.

Follow up question from previous answer

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my inquiry. It was helpful and validated a deeper inner
knowing that was outshined by grief, fear of death, and attachment to this reality. I am beginning to
understand the importance of virtue and the natural laws if cause and effect. I see I really know
nothing. I see how terribly misguided I have been in this life. I see how I have been wasting this
valuable human life.
Thank you for your patience and constant reminders for those of us who are so ignorant and
confused about Truth.

It is very good that you can awaken from ignorance. Just remember, we are surrounded
by worldly temptations of greed, hatred and delusion. Therefore to maintain an awakened state or
stay in vigilance is crucial. It is never too late to correct ourselves and move towards full
awakening.

How can I increase amount of willpower? (This question is in response to my sharing

on my Facebook page: One's biggest obstacle in life is one's own Karma. It shapes the direction of
the choices you make and actions you take. We are the doer. We are responsible for the outcomes of
our own actions. We are also capable of making a difference. To change for the better takes
willingness and willpower.)

Willpower provides the greatest wealth in life. It can take you to wherever you want to
go and lead you to your destination. To some, strong willpower is inborn, but it can be trained for
others. Increasing willpower can be practiced through three aspects, desire, discipline and virtue.
Finding your deepest desire requires utmost sincerity and earnestness. To have a high goal that
matters to you the most gives you motivation to achieve it. If you don't know what you want, surely
you know what you don't want. Otherwise, you will not be alive. Then, eliminate what you don't
want and nail down what you want most. Stop the habit of always trying to find excuses for
yourself. Those who live with countless excuses will not find benefits from their excuses.
To reach your goal requires discipline. That is where you can build up your willpower. Pick
something that is simple to do, but meaningful, and you have to do it daily and assiduously without
escaping a single day for any excuse. That exercises your strength and willpower.
Yuan is your environment and controls the opportunities in your life. When people are dominated
by evil Yuan, their encounters always appear to be bringing in negative results, such as always
meeting the wrong people, being in the wrong place or at the wrong time, or there is always
something to stop you from taking the right advice and making a good decision. Practicing virtue
can promote good Yuan, uplift you and make it easier to improve your life.
Best wishes for your cultivation.

Follow up question from previous answer

Sifu, in addition to practicing virtue, what are the other ways of eliminating evil Yuan and
promoting good Yuan in one's life?

To be associated with virtuous people. You will be lifted by their good Karma.

Follow up question from previous answer

And what is a good way to identify virtuous people in these times, where it seems that many are not
what they profess or seem to be? Sorry for all these questions, but your answers are bringing a lot of
clarity to me Sifu.

Honesty, truthfulness, faithfulness, trustworthiness, benevolence, and having proper

knowledge and integrity. In short, you feel good and it's beneficial to be associated with them.

How can I change myself? I feel that I lost my meaning and my path in life.

To change oneself start with self-compassion. We often hear the word compassion and
immediately think about others, as if the compassion is only for giving to others. Or in another
scenario, to some, compassion implies receiving something from others. If the world is not giving
them what they want it is not compassionate to them. Compassion does not mean pity for someone
but understanding and support. Support does not mean indulging someone's greedy cravings and
giving them whatever they want. Support is helping someone to change their self for better in an
ultimate sense. Hence, self-compassion should be recognized. It can lead to self-love, self-support,
self-sufficiency, independence and self-awakening.
To change oneself start with self-effort. Self-effort is the essential help one can give. It is the nearest
and most effective in time. The power of self-effort can transcend all obstacles that one may face.
By one's determination and effort, the world will be moved and help will spontaneously come along
from all directions. Despair or moaning cannot bring effective help from others, because help from
pity will not last.
A teacher can only be a doorman to show you a way. Action has to come from oneself. Courage and
self-confidence will lead the way.
Dear Sifu Jenny,
May I ask what is True Compassion according to your view?
I just finished practicing amitofu mantra, and today I did 40 minutes of walking outside singing
silently amitofu mantra (listening to the music of the mantra with earphones).
I know right now I should focus on my own healing, but I wanted to ask:
For many years living in Israel I have seen people suffering, through wars, and people giving up
hope, seeing the light dim in their eyes, young people seeking for answers. It has been such a deep
and growing wish within me, to be able one day to help people here who are seeking for real
meaning and teachings. This is really what I wish to dedicate my life to, not only awakening myself
but to truly be able to help others who are seeking truth, to give hope to people here, especially
young people.
My question is:
How can I know that I am ready to share?
Many times I think, perhaps I don't know enough, or I should learn more.
I myself see many limitations within me that I feel I need to refine.
Are there certain qualities one should have in order to be able to share teachings,
and if so what are these qualities/virtues one should cultivate?
Also, Is it possible to address such questions in my prayer to your celestial masters?
Seeing your videos and lectures the part in me that ever thought of itself great, from your presence I
feel how foolish this part in me that thinks of greatness, It is my wish to become a leaf that bows to
the infinite wind, realizing its true greatness and beauty.
I am humbled by your teachings,

True compassion is helping others to be free from suffering in an ultimate sense. "True
compassion is not just an emotional response but a firm commitment founded on reason." (His
Holiness the Dalai Lama)
Read an analogy from my Facebook and participate with the group. You will learn a lot from others
and grow with them together. Empty words cannot save oneself nor anyone else. Effort, effort,
effort.

Hello Jenny, I have been following your work online, and on facebook. I am coming to
you for advice on what I believe to be a demonic possession taking place in a friend of mine. I have
checked before online and have seen there are taoist exorcisms that priests conduct on people
awhile back. This came to mind because my friend has been schizophrenic lately being admitted
into the psyche ward here. And he has been hard to control. Amongst saying things like "I am the
son of God", and threatening to castrate his penis he has admitted to seeing dark figures. When we
were teenagers we previously have seen a dark figure and ensued what seemed to be was a demonic
possession then. I had to leave the house while he followed me outside with a strange empty look in
his face telling me "it's ok". He did this to me last night but refused to come into my house. Please
share any information on this. You are one of the few I think that can help me online. Thank you so
much Jenny.

(I have received many help requests regarding entity issues like the above, some honest
and sincerely looking for help and some dishonest, disrespectful, arrogant and showing no respect
for life itself. In order to give people a proper understanding of these issues and my standpoint of
helping them, I wrote a short article on my Facebook page as below.)
I have been asked about entity issues a lot. Yes, I can help people who have entity or entity related
issues, or Yin issues: Zhong Xie (attacked by Yin force), Karmic issues (wrong action in previous
life causing severe health issues in this life or causing problems and obstacles to moving forward in
this life), or encounters with Yin world or spirit has left the body or Yang Qi leaking, etc.
Nevertheless, the request has to come from the person himself/herself, unless the person is
incapable, such as in a comma, or too young to make the decision.
To free people from dark possession or dark forces or to bring one's spirit back to the body is not a
simple task or with a method that anyone can do. To be effective and prevent return of the
condition, to be treated in person in most cases is absolute necessary. Online consultation is the first
step to get a proper diagnosis and determine how long the treatment will be. Also there are many
cases I have encountered that were not the above issues but something else, even if the person
suspected entity issues, where I can treat you online and give instructions to follow to heal yourself.
I always encourage people to see their doctors first. If you are out of all other options and come to
me for help, you must come with sincerity and trust. Don't come to me with lies, with other people's
picture, with disrespect, arrogance or to show off how great you are. If you don't care for your own
life, don't expect others to care. Bearing suffering is one way to exhaust your negative Karma. If
that is what you want, be happy to live with it. I am coming out to help people with their uncommon
life issues as requested from my master and for one main purpose. That is through healing to teach
causality and through dharma to teach self-healing.
If you want to be helped, first you have to stand up to help yourself and be willing to do whatever it
takes to make it happen. Excuses or complaining that others are not helping you will not do you any
good. Standing up and finding a way to resolve your own problems is courage and taking
responsibility. If you have these qualities you are not only able to help yourself in this life, you are
capable to design your future life.
A few comments for those who are walking on the spiritual path: your path is not in the woods or
temples, it is under your feet. You have to walk on it and live in it. You must work with your mind
and be willing to change yourself to be a virtuous person and not longing for power. Spending years
staying in the woods or cave alone will not achieve your goal. Longing for supernatural power
should not be your ultimate goal. It probably causes you more damage than happiness you are
looking for. Being satisfied with what you are, enjoying what you have and learning to find peace
inside of yourself will more likely make you happier. I keep hearing people tell me they choose
living in the woods to practice, or to find their path, or find a way to resolve their entity issues, but
so far it has not been satisfied or resolved. On the contrary, you may find yourself heartbroken.
Yang Qi weak people should not choose living in woods. Woods are the best place and environment
for unseen beings to reside. If you are lacking Yang, you are a good candidate for an entity dwelling
within. If you desire some kind of power handed down to you from nowhere, you are actually
providing yourself as a vehicle for others to use. Beings to satisfy your lower desires often come
from the parallel world or the world below you. To be chosen for a higher purpose from a higher
realm cannot be obtained by longing. If you are chosen for a higher purpose it is because your
quality is right for the job, not your desire. The more desire you have, the less qualification you will
have. Some of those lower beings may satisfy your needs, but only in exchange for your life. Living
in the woods with Yin all the time without protection, you are losing yourself little by little, until
becoming Yin essence; when you have completely exhausted your Yang, death will come. Be
knowledgeable of what you are doing and be careful what you wish for. It is easy to be possessed by
your request. It is difficult to separate from them by your demand. Choose your path wisely and
acknowledge cause and effect as natural law that you are bound by.
P.S.
As a matter of fact, most people with entity issues would not be helped, not because it is their
condition, but because their entity will stop them from getting help by any means, especially if they
know that they found the right source for help. The entities have their special senses and channels to
know a real threat of been removed and they will lead you in a wrong direction, change your mind
about getting help, think for you, make you doubt yourself or your decision, cause obstacles to stop
you if you determine to get help, etc. Some even make you think that you are a God, no one
possibly understands you, or your suffering is what you have to go through for a higher purpose in
this life
I have seen so many kinds of variations in those who are possessed by entities. I can only point out
what the situation looks like, but cannot make a decision for you. Desire for life has to come from
oneself.
Best wishes for all.

Can focusing on the dan tien for long periods of time be harmfull to health?

I assume that you are talking about the lower Dantian. There are three Dantian, upper,
middle and lower. Taoist practice emphasizes "Huohou"(literary means fire and time) but is about
practice time and strength. Any practice depends on how you practice it. Focusing on Dantian is one
important practice for internal alchemy, but without proper guidance it can cause some people
breathing disorders or tight chest or belly discomfort etc. It is also not recommended for women to
focus on lower Tantian, rather focus on middle dantian (Shanzhong).

Dear Sifu,
I have a question and I was wondering if you can share your wisdom from a Pure Land Buddhist
perspective.
I was wondering if someone has done there "faith, vow and practice" to win rebirth in Amitabha
Buddha's Pure Land then why should they wish to remain in the suffering realm of the Saha world?
Would it be much easier for the person to commit "rational suicide"? (a term used by right-to-
die/euthanasia organisations when someone terminally ill kills themselves in a peaceful and dignity
manner as they can no longer take the pain).
If a Pure Land Buddhist practitioner commits suicide then will the person continue there spiritual
cultivation in the western paradise in a much better environment and in the presence of many
virtuous beings or will they be reborn in the lower realms such as hungry ghosts?
As a human I feel powerless to help other beings, wouldn't it be better if a Pure Land Buddhist
practitioner sacrifice themselves so they may be able to be reborn in a better form quicker and be
one step closer to fulfil their Bodhisattva Vow?
I was wondering if you can share your perspective, this is purely from an educational point of view
that I heard being discussed at a local sangha, but no one could come up with a conclusion.
If you feel it is right to answer this question then please do also share it on the Facebook group.
Many thanks Sifu for taking the time to read this.
Amituofo

1. Doing a practice is one thing. How well you've done it is another. If one has truly won
rebirth in Amitabha's pure land, there is nothing to escape, because when one's mind is pure,
all lands are pure. To finish your remaining life span in the Saha world does not give you
suffering. "Pain is certain, suffering is optional." (Gautama Buddha)
2. By committing suicide you may escape pain, but do not escape Samsara. If the cause of your
illness was a consequence of your wrong action, it would be better to correct it while you are
alive. We are living in a cycle of birth and death, one life follows another endlessly. How do
you know when you escape this one you will go to a better place? Committing suicide is not
a good idea. When you are not certain that you will achieve your goal of rebirth in the Pure
Land, you may face a difficult rebirth. Make your decision wisely. Do what is right.
3. Being a Pure Land Buddhist practitioner by name does not mean you are striving to cultivate
the Pure Land path, or automatically granted rebirth in the land of Ultimate Bliss. It is not
that Amitabha Buddha has differentiation in selections. It is we who cannot control our
deluded unstable mind. At the moment of death, if one's determination is not strong, one will
be driven by one's residual negative karma, options fade away because of the pain, suffering
and karmic creditors are present in domination.
A true practitioner can be born in the pure land while they are alive in this Saha world. It is
as if they have made a reservation there and the rest of their life is just to fulfill their duty of
helping others as their purpose to live. In the ancient times, many great practitioners left
their body through Samdhi, not when they were sick or dying, but when in great health and
strength. It is vital to acknowledge where your heart is abiding, not your mind wandering.
4. What is a Bodhisattva Vow? Does a Bodhisattva have to have supernatural powers in order
to help others?

I find it very awkward to see those who claim "if I have power I will do this or that for
people for free." Those are often people who are more self-concerned and always want to
take advantage of others instead of taking their own responsibility. Be earnest with yourself,
how much did you do in a sense of contributing to the world or helping your community or
your own family. You don't need supernatural powers to serve your society or help the
homeless. Even just to be a simple, good, decent, truthful, earnest human being, you are
making a good example for the world. Big fancy words may sound good to the ears but may
not be good for anything else. How can you help other beings when you cannot help
yourself? Having a heart to help others is a good thing, but you don't have to wait to the last
moment of your life to take action. On the contrary, human life is most powerful, because
Buddha, a full awakened one, only comes from the human race.

Sometimes, I really don't want to answer people's questions, because the truth is not what
people want to hear and I don't care to waste my time on sugar coating. Truth may hurt your
ears, but can be your salvation.

From the depth of my heart, I have one important message I want to share with you, that is
to acknowledge the law of cause and effect. It will never change in this world. Be realistic. A
mask may cover your face but cannot cover your life. Fancy words may satisfy your ego but
cannot save your life. Put your priorities straight. Make the best choice for your life while
you still can. Without being alive you cannot achieve anything. Many people who are in
serious trouble come to me saying, "I am a student." Not, I need help and will do whatever I
can. Being a student is not an excuse. Without a life, you will be a dead student. Take
responsibility for your actions, do whatever needs to be done to correct yourself and to save
yourself without condition. You may not have another chance.
One recommendation for you is to read the Letters from Pure Land Patriarch, Master Yin Kuang. It
presents great knowledge about pure land tradition. It is a great inspiration and may help you to
understand the pure land better. You can find it at this site:
http://www.buddhanet.net/pdf_file/yin_kuang.pdf .
My best wishes to you and to all.
Namo Amituofo!
Follow up question from previous answer
Dear Sifu,
Please do post my response on the Facebook group, if you feel it is appropriate.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my message, even though I wasn't direct and honest.
Without whining and without going into too much detail; my real reason for contacting you was that
I came to a point in my life where I feel suicide is the only option. I feel this way because I was
abused by my family from the age of 3 till now (23 years old).
I could no longer deal with the emotional pain of being stabbed, cigarette burns, broken and
dislocated bones, head flushed down the toilet, being thrown out of windows on a daily basis.
The abuse got much worse in my teenage years as I no longer followed Islam and practiced
Buddhism. I kept it to myself till eventually my family found a book on Pure Land Buddhism and
then the abuse got much worse as they believed I should receive the "stoned to death punishment"
for leaving Islam and following "witchcraft beliefs". My patents were born in small villages in
Pakistan and they still don't understand basic human rights even though they have been living in the
UK for decades.
I tried to explain to them for many years but they were too ignorant to understand.
So about 7 months ago I finally left home to start a new life but the old emotional trauma repressed
from the age of 3 surfaced up and it led me to self harm (cutting) and multiple failed suicide
attempts. The main factor which led me to such a dark point was not having a single friend to talk to
and material things. I suffered financial problems after moving out of home and into university
accommodation and right now I only eat every few days as I cannot afford to buy food for everyday.
Suicide had been on my mind for about 7 months as I had no one to talk to about the lifetime of
abuse and not enough money to take care of basic needs.
So I tried to "trick" myself into believing that suicide is ok, but a small part of me screams and tells
me that I have come too far and have the extremely rare luck of being born as a human who has
come across Dharma. That small but powerful part of me pushed me to seek advice from you.
The only reason I'm still alive today is because the Buddhas teachings have kept me going through
all the dark periods.
I needed to hear the Truth even though it was painful and I didn't want to hear it.
I really want you know how much your reply to my emails means to me.
Your response is the life changing response that I needed to hear to wake me up and put me back on
track to take responsibility and correct myself.
I will reach out for support such as counselling and no longer isolate myself. I will nourish that part
of me that carries on allowing me to take responsibly and correct myself.
Thank you very much,
With palms together,
Namo Amituofo!

It takes great courage to say what you did and share it with the public. That is the
beginning of self-acknowledgement. Healing starts from here and forward. I wish you the best and
will do what I can to help you. But telling the truth of what caused your illness and suicidal
tendencies is not completely honest in full when only seeing it as other people's fault. Only when
you are totally truthful, earnest and sincere to yourself, healing will take place from the roots. The
past negative karma can be eradicated swiftly. Your practice of faith, vows and recitation of the
Buddha's name have roots and real depth. Your goal to achieve rebirth in the Pure Land becomes
possible in this life.
My husband always tells my students that I am tough. In fact, I am tougher to myself. I know there
is no easy way out if you don't face your own demons. Being truthful, honest, direct and sincere is
the proper way to go.

Dear Sifu Jenny,

Can you please share your insight about spiritual growth and the use of drugs?
What are the energetic implications, effect on Qi, Mind and how is this related to entities issues?
When you treat a patient who is addicted to drugs, are there certain energetic symptoms you find
only in drug users that are not found in non users?
How about people who are not smoking but affected by people smoking around them, is there any
energetic effect too?
I see these days that it is becoming very popular and many who are interested in spiritual growth tell
me it is great for development, but personally I have become convinced for both short term and long
term it is not. Although I am not using any drugs I wish to have better understanding on its
implications and mainly the energetic effects as there seems to be a lot of confusion around it these
days as this is becoming more and more popular.
Another view that I hear is that many of the ancient masters in the past used these psychedelic
plants to evolve spiritually. Is there any view of ancient masters in daoism and buddhism who used
it and considered it beneficial?
I hope this may help bring a better clarity on the subject and help others who ask these same
questions, perhaps asking themselves if they should stop smoking or not.
Thank you very much for your time to answer.
With Gratitude and Blessings,

Thank you for asking such important questions and thank you, Tom, for sharing your
direct self-experience and knowledge (Tom's comments are on my Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/EasternInternalArts/). Your answers are thorough and insightful.
I don't think I have anything to add from the user's perspective. Spirituality and drugs are a critical
and sensitive topic for me to talk about in the West, because they are so popular with many
followers. Yet, it is vital to have a proper understanding, especially for spiritual seekers. Therefore, I
am going to stress this topic, from the perspective of spirituality (the view of Buddhism and
Taoism) and as a healer, my observation of entity hosts related to using drugs.
Spirituality:
Buddhism teaches three things: discipline, concentration and wisdom. Discipline brings
mindfulness to our actions and wards off unwholesome actions of body, speech and mind. It is to
prevent transgressions. Sufficient discipline leads to good concentration and good concentration
leads to wisdom. Wisdom gets rid of delusion, leads to liberation and the truth. Prajpramit (the
Perfection of Wisdom) sutra, the heart sutra: "The Avalokitevara (Guanyin) Bodhisattva of
compassion, while in profound contemplation of Prajna Paramita, beheld five skandhas (aggregates)
as empty in their being and thus transcended all suffering." Profound and transcendent wisdom
takes one to the other shore, the shore free from all suffering, which can only be attained through
cultivation and practicing of meditation and contemplation. Liberation through wisdom is declared
in all Buddhist sutras. There is no mention that drugs can help spiritual growth. In fact, they are
refrained from, because they would prevent mindfulness, cause neglectfulness and interrupt the
development of an enlightened mind. When inertness, neglectfulness and illusion arise the mode of
ignorance predominates.
Taoism includes philosophical and religious traditions, both highlighting living in harmony with the
Tao (way). Philosophical Taoism was presented by Laozi. It promotes the formless, mystical, and
origin of all things. It is ultimately ineffable, therefore, "the Tao that can be told is not the eternal
Tao". Philosophical Taoism emphasizes Wu Wei, (the effortless action, or action without intent), or
Wei Wu Wei, (action without action). It asserts that one must follow the will of the natural universe
in order to achieve harmony with the great Tao. Religious Taoism, on the other hand, sees divine
manifestation in all things, sun, moon, stars, mountains, oceans and so forth, and features reverence
for Laozi, immortals and ancestors. Their study is involved in almost every field: cosmology,
astrology, divination, exorcism rituals, alchemy, Traditional Chinese medicine, feng shui, Qigong
etc. and most of all is a quest for longevity or immortality. A Taoist sutra states that those whose
body and mind follow the laws of nature, practice only the Tao (way), and serve the Tao (way) as a
profession are called Taoist (). This is referring to
professionals, for those who follow the Taoist doctrine and practice its approaches are Taoist
practitioners. Thus, practicing the way and promoting nature is the core of Taoism.
Alchemy is considered to be a main practice of religious Taoism. It includes Neidan and Waidan, or
internal alchemy and external alchemy. Generally speaking, practicing alchemy refers to internal
alchemy, focusing on cultivating substances of body known as the three treasures, e.g. Jing (life
essence), Qi (vital energy) and Shen (spiritual energy). The four stages of Neidan (internal alchemy)
practice are Zhu ji (or establish foundation), convert the Jing to Qi, convert the Qi to Shen, and
return the Shen to its origin (or unify the Shen to the great void). It is energetic meditative practice.
Waidan (external alchemy) refers to anything produced from outside of the body, such as elixirs
which are produced from alchemical operations with external substances (cinnabar, realgar,
mercury, sulfur, lead, etc). Many of these substances are actively toxic and far from contributing to
longevity. It caused the death of the Jiajing Emperor in the Chinese Ming Dynasty. The Elixir of
Life (pill of immortality) becomes the extinction of life (pill of life shortening). The true expression
of external alchemy is referring to moving energy that exists outside of body. The Alchemy classics
say that to obtain internal alchemy is primary and seeking the external is secondary. Only when
internal alchemy is established, then you can absorb and fuse external alchemy (moving energy).
Therefore, a true spiritual growth is always from within. Taking drugs for a short cut or easy way
out is no more than obtaining an experience of curiosity. It could only satisfy your fantasy or be a
temporary escape from this reality, but you are led astray without knowing. Getting deeper into this
mind state is called Zou Huo Ru Mo deviationin Taoism.
The following illustrations that I encountered related with using drugs can be a good example to
respond to your question:
Example 1: A person had an issue with no sensations from his neck down. He claimed he was a
practitioner with great realizations and used to travel to different dimensions. He used to do
meditation with hallucinatory plants and had used them more than a hundred times and now he
could not feel anything except his head. He sought help everywhere, especially from different
traditions, but nothing helped.
Example 2: One who thinks that he possibly has an entity in him, because, for over a decade, he has
had a lot of the same symptoms that I point out in my article "Entity Issues". He has not been
getting any answers from either Western or Eastern medical professionals. He also sought out help
from bioenergetics healing. He said nothing really worked until he took Ayahuasca. He believed that
Ayahuasca helped his physical issues. But a week later he was committed to a mental institution.
Now he sees some physical problems restarting again and mental worries in many aspects and
degrees. I don't want to go into all the details. In fact, Ayahuasca created a psychiatric break for
him. Yet, he still believes that he had a lot of deep realizations from it. Illusion was dominating his
mind.
Example 3: Someone coming to me for entity removal said he was in perfect health until he took
Ayahausca. He claimed the journey was guided by a troubled shaman and left him in between
worlds. Since then, he has trouble sleeping and wakes with nightmares. There is a lot of blame for
others that he believes caused his entity issues. In fact, the entity has been around him for a while
but could not enter his body because of his strong personality. When he took the trip for an
Ayahausca journey, he was influenced by his entity. As soon as his mind was taken over by
Ayahausca, the entity entered his body instantly.
Example 4: A young man went to a well know shaman for entity removal. Healing was applied with
some of these hallucinatory plants. Plants did not remove his entity and instead brought him some
other physical issues.
All that exists has its purpose in the world. Their structure, function and regulations are different.
Some may coexist in the same space without conflict due to each following its own pathway to
abide by. To be born as a human being, it may be wise to maximum your human potentiality first,
instead of longing for something that you are not and having no idea what you are getting yourself
into. Being human is valuable because of the uniqueness of our consciousness. We can make a
choice. If we lose our consciousness, we lose the value of ourselves. Spiritual growth is referring to
enhancing and enriching our ability toward awakening or moving up to a higher realm. If such
plants or drugs or entities create confusion and destroy mindfulness, I do not see any benefit from a
spiritual perspective. When your mind is distorted, you lose proper perceptions as a human being.
You see sky is not sky, see earth is not earth, see water is not water. You become different beings, a
ghost who does not see water as water, but as fire. When your mind cannot function and discern
your situation correctly, your sensors perform erroneously.
While helping people with their entity related issues, when I see people's condition getting worse
but hear them say that "I feel better" after entity removal is attempted unsuccessfully, I often ask, if
you are getting better, why do you come to me for help? Actually, their mind is confused and
sensors are disordered and cannot know the difference. Typically, after each failure of entity
removal, the body gets tighter, heavier, and harder to breathe. There's a lack of oxygen going to the
brain due to the entity cutting the source of their blood supply out of fear of what they did to get rid
of them. The body becomes weaker and mind becomes more absent. How can there be any
improvement as the result of a failed attempt?
"How about people who are not smoking but affected by people smoking around them, is there any
energetic effect too?" Yes, it will have an energetic effect, depending on the level of smoke and the
tolerance of the person. I know a friend who got a new job in an environment associated with
marijuana in Colorado. Her mind suddenly shutdown and she was unable to function and felt very
miserable. Quitting her job became her only solution and that is what she did.
"When you treat a patient who is addicted to drugs, are there certain energetic symptoms you find
only in drug users that are not found in non users?" Those addicted to stimulants often show
extreme emotionality and energy swings. Fighting their addiction will take more willpower, extra
effort and support for them. I've found that those who used hallucinatory plants are more agitated
and defensive if you say that what they perceived is illusion. They are convinced that the drugs gave
them deep realizations and that they had a journey to a higher realm or a different dimension. Even
if the vision horrified them, they deny that it was an illusion. They do not see that their experience
was a hallucination and the result of the drug's influence. Moreover, they begin to suffer from health
issues as a side effect of the drugs. Their system begins to shut down. In this case, if one does not
admit to a false view and wrong doing, it cannot be helped. Blindly believing is unwholesome
action. A reality check can be very helpful. To identify whether your connection is with a higher
realm or lower realm can be seen from the following:
If your connection is with a higher realm (you do not need drugs for that), your body should feel
lighter and brighter. You are full of Yang Qi. Your life is brightened. People around you feel
comfortable and healing. You feel energetic, look younger, healthier and have more wisdom. You
have a tendency to want to share your wisdom with others. The gift from higher beings is mainly
two things: energy and wisdom. They commonly come with a group. Generosity is their nature. You
feel safe. That given by them will never be involved with an exchange. As a matter of fact, there is
nothing you can offer that will be of interest to them. But your virtue is a precondition for them to
care to help you. If you are chosen for a higher purpose, they will protect you. Your life span could
only increase not decrease. Your connection with them will not be broken (their support for you will
be for your lifetime, which is merely a couple of days of their time), unless you become virtueless
and lose your way.
If your connection is from a lower realm, everything is the opposite. Without drugs your journey
ends (usually, drugs influence can last a few hours to a few days after each use). Connected with
lower beings (entities), your health will gradually decline. Your body feels heavier and Yin Qi
dominates. Your mind does not function properly and you have a hard time concentrating. Often,
you have negative thoughts and prefer being alone and have social anxiety. You look unhealthy,
older than your age, surrounded with dark force. People feel uncomfortable around you. You have a
lack of wisdom, are always suspicious of others, feel very insecure and have a tendency to attack
others. You will gradually develop depression, unbalanced emotions, and fear for no reason.
Between you and your entity, exchange is an absolute request, your energy for their help. Your life
span will decrease.
For the above reasons, whether for a short-term or long-term, I do not find psychedelic plants or
drugs help spiritual growth, nor heal those patients that I encountered. On the contrary, I found that
the hallucinatory drugs distort people's mind and damage their nervous system. For long term use, it
is more harmful than what one wishes for. For short term use, it may produce a unique experience to
satisfy one's curiosity (still, it depends on individuals, some experiencing more suffering than joy)
but it does not produce an awakened mind. Some even pollute one's Qi and blood. I am not saying
these plants are not good for anything or anything is wrong with them. It is the users who made a
wrong choice for their purpose. You must know what you are doing and what you getting yourself
involved in. There are many better options and less harmful than using drugs. We live on our
choices and are responsible for our choices.
Proper understanding is crucial for spiritual development. Longing for what and how to get it leads
to different paths. If you are longing for something external, the true external energy (outside of
self) that can profit you only comes from a higher source or higher realm. According to Buddhism,
the higher realm above human is the God realm or beings that are beyond our cyclic realms such as
Bodhisattvas or Buddhas. In Taoism, the higher realm is Xianjie or the immortal realm. Taking
(internal use) hallucinatory plants for magic will not lead you to a higher realm.
In ancient times, to contact higher realms, some masters used (external use) many fragrant plants or
materials to make incense, along with the highest valued elements from this world to conduct
offering ceremonies. It is for establishing connections with higher beings for their guidance
(wisdom) or help (to defuse worldly disasters), normally led by the Emperor or an accomplished
master of religion. For individuals, this is practiced on a small scale for a personal request. The
offering is for the purpose of creating a pathway to send a message. Your offering is a presentation
of your heart with highest value to you. Hopefully it will be received by some higher individuals
and get their response. Be aware, they don't pity you because you are less fortunate. Causality
regulates the universe. Your pure heart and virtue are the condition to motivate them to pay attention
to you, or if you are an individual who is willing to make an extraordinary effort to change your life
for the better, you may have a chance to succeed. They help you if you deserve their help, not to
become greedier and more self-centered. When your connection is established, the generosity from
above is truly given.
The true spiritual development is the transformation of consciousness into wisdom. Buddhists
practice faith, effort, mindfulness, concentration, and discernment (wisdom), known as the five
strengths in order to control the five sensory faculties (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body) and put a
spotlight on the Enlightenment path.
Learning from others' experiences and taking others' failures as a mirror of our future could prevent
many unnecessary mistakes in our life. I hope that Tom's and my little sharing can be of benefit to
some who are walking on the right spiritual path.
Be happy, be healthy and be wise!

Dear Ms. Lamb,

I am contacting you, because I would have a question or two concerning Yi Gong and related
matters and would be most grateful for your kind help.
1. Can one learn such a high practice as Yi Gong from a DVD? I am a little bit sceptical about
this and therefore hesitant to purchase the DVD "Qigong for Self-Healing - Series I".
2. Can Yi Gong just by itself provide perfect health, when practiced conscientiously and above
all refine the human character? Health without goodness is useless. Can Yi Gong for
instance remove anger, pride, jealousy, laziness, etc. permanently?
3. What conditions would one have to fulfill in order to eventually receive the full transmission
of the complete system of Yi Gong and not just level 1?
4. Under what conditions do you conduct "Spirit Liberating (entity removal)" and can this be
also done at a distance? Is there any way to clearly diagnose the presence of an entity at a
distance?
Thank you in advance for your kind help and patience.

1. Yes, you can learn Yigong from my DVD. Otherwise, there would be no reason for the DVD
to exist. Of course, the best way of learning is direct from a teacher in person.
2. Practice is just a method. To make it beneficial is up to the individual. Life is not permanent,
body and mind are not permanent, how can one expect any permanency by a method? To
obtain a virtuous character is the result of one's desire and endless effort. As for perfect
health, what do you consider perfect health? One's health is affected by many elements, such
as diet, living environment, lifestyle, exercise, and your inherited genes. Yigong can promote
good health and well-being, but it is not a cure for everything or everyone.
3. Take the first step first. You may find the Yigong is not something that you really want after
you practice the first level. Or find there is endless learning in benefits for both body and
mind, even just from the first level of Yigong. Mind changes all the time. Please don't
assume anything before you even try it. The full Yigong system can only be taught to a ready
student. Just to learn the forms does not carry the essence of Yigong.
4. Entity issues can be diagnosed at a distance by viewing your picture and receiving your
proper information. As for removing it, the best way is in person. People's willingness,
commitment and effort are the preconditions to be helped.

Besides certain psychological conditions, what other illnesses would prevent someone
from getting the most out of your teachings? Are there certain conditions that would be made worse
by doing what you teach? I'm interested in your teachings but a former student of yours who teaches
an aspect of your system says that blood cancers would be made worse by Yigong. Is this true?

To understand my teaching, I would suggest you read through everything on my

website and my facebook. I share what I can and as much as I can with others there. I don't know
who this self claimed former student of mine is. He/she obviously knows nothing about the Yigong
system. Learning a form, becoming an authority to mislead others is lack of knowledge. If you have
a blood cancer issue, you should see your doctor to get proper recommendations and treatments.
Yigong is a great system that can promote good health and wellbeing, but it is not a cure for
everything and everyone. If you asked me what can it cure and what it cannot, I don't have all these
answers. A cure depends on many factors. The same medicine can be a cure for one and poison for
another. Find a right teacher or healer or doctor to get proper guidance is important. Be honest with
them. Don't wait until the last minute for help. It may be too late.

Can you explain what you do or how it works? Do you "push" the other being from the
body?

I cannot tell you what I do, there is no fixed technique. The method is to be given
according to the specific entity or its issues. Even within entity issues, there are more kinds than
you have a lifetime to learn. It's a big category that may include ordinary, mischievous, revenge
seeking, demons, powerful from many lifetimes endeavor and vital energy cultivation (lost by
incorrect thinking) and so forth. They come to you from different sources for different purposes
with different means. Without knowing the root cause, the type of entity and their preference, I
would not be able to treat anyone and liberate them. Similar methods may be used for preparation
and healing (entity removal treatment includes three stages: preparation, removal and healing), but I
have not repeated a remedy once for my entity removal.
I am not an entity killer. One deadly weapon may kill all, but patients and I will be included. The
debts of killing will be carried life after life. No peace can be found by killing. I believe all life has
a reason to exist. I help people by request, trust and willingness to make effort. I make a settlement
if the entity after you wanted revenge. I liberate beings by sending them to where they come from
or a better place if they choose. To help a life, the knowledge and the remedy that suits each
individual case is vital. Misleading people or self-deceiving is a sign of ignorance.
You cannot push any beings to leave if they don't want to. You must have a good reason to make
them willingly to leave with your assistance (your power, merit and virtue) for exchange. Otherwise
after winning the battle fighting with you, they are getting stronger and patients are becoming
weaker.

Since you have described that there is no fixed technique, could you give an example of
an entity removal that you have done before? How and what you did?

For what purpose? If you are interested in learning, make an effort and find a teacher
that you have faith and trust in and dedicate your life to it, so that you won't only have a superficial
knowledge. It is harmful to both patient and oneself by pretending who one is not. It can only make
things worse. If you have an entity issue yourself, I suggest that you find help with sincerity. I
cannot see how you are able to remove it by yourself, since it becomes a part of you. If they are not
more powerful than you, they cannot attach to you. Many people think it is easy, just give a
command. You can try.

Follow up question from previous answer

I was interested and thought you might be willing to give an overview. I have "bumped into" a few
entities with very interesting impact/effects and thought I might be able to learn from your
experience. I also thought the topic might be interesting for the broader forum group.

Good intentions. Thank you. Spending time answering people is not just to respond to
one person but also for the intention of shedding light for others to have a proper understanding. I
have helped a lot of people with entity issues and also seen some of them get worse after many
attempted wrong methods. In one case that I helped, three attempts before me caused her whole
family trouble. After battling for survival, the entity was getting stronger with more attacks on the
host responding to each exorcism. Agitation and anger make the entity want revenge on anyone in
the family who wanted to get rid of him/it. But I don't want say too much to mislead people in any
direction. Cause and effect is natural law, it applies to everyone.

I have an entity attached to me. It told me it's a fox spirit using me for my energy. In
return, it has given me a lot of great advice so I don't mind it. Do you see any potential problems
with this arrangement?

Energy is your life force. When it is reduced to a substantial level, you will experience
unbalanced health issues. If their advice is worth your life, that is your choice.
I had an interesting conversation with my guiding spirit a few weeks ago using the
Iching and a pendulum as the intermediary, and I'm hoping you could shed further light on it.
Here's a brief synopsis of the convo:
I asked it
what is the most powerful source of supernatural powers, of siddhis?
the answer was hex 50 changing into 1. So I pondered, I looked up the various interpretations, one
for hex 50 is turning control over to a higher power. So I asked: is turning control over to a heaven
(hex 1) the most powerful source of supernatural powers? And the answer was an unequivocal yes.
Then I asked how do I turn control over to heaven? I got hexagram 38. I asked if hex 38 was the
right answer. I've learned to confirm after each divination from a Taiwanese nun, as sometimes the
Iching hex we get the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd time, can be incorrect. anyhow, the answer was positive.
Hex 38 can mean mutual opposition usually, but it can also mean resolving tensions. It consists of
fire over a lake, so I asked if it meant that one turns control over to heaven by combining fire and
water to produce hot water and steam. It said yes, but it's not really the correct interpretation. Then I
looked over at the possible hex 38, and one possible one is removing opposition, removing
blockages. So I asked: is removing blockages how one turns control over to heaven? The answer
again was an unequivocal yes.
So next step was to ask how do you remove blockages? The answer was hex 24 changing into 51
which meant by repairing clarity. Fine, but a little too vague, then again was reminded of
something. So I asked: is bringing down li (fire) into kan (water) the best way to remove blockages?
The answer again was an unequivocal yes. this is where I stopped as I got tired which I took as a
sign that from then on, I had to do some work on my own
Anyhow, I don't have the ability to conversate with it as I would conversate with a human yet, so
Now my next question will be to you, if you don't mind Jenny, how does one bring down li into
kan? ... What is the best and most efficient method?

The highest power is wisdom. I respect your effort of learning by digging into ancient
Chinese cosmology I Ching/Yijing. But why to remove a blockage, do you have to complicate
yourself through I ching prediction or calculations? The greatest way is the simplest. Li (fire) and
Kan (water) are opposite elements. They are co-existent, but against each other for world balance.
Until the time when they are not against each other, then you can bring down Li into Kan.
Exploring the universe is for understanding so that we can follow it in the best way, not by the law
of contraries. I think that you are wasting your time by beating around the bush. The best path
should be a simple and direct path. Seemingly you are working very hard trying to find a good path.
My experience is to find the right teacher is your best path, saving you a lifetime circling around to
find a simple truth. You cannot afford to waste your life searching and testing to see if it is the
shortest path or if it works for you. Why not take others experience and start from a high point?
Follow up question from previous answer
If I may clarify, I don't see using the Iching or other modes of divination as a waste of time or
beating around the bush, but rather as a time saving. this comes from my experience with reiki and
other healing modalities, where it was ingrained in me to use divination as a means of confirming
my intuition, which can sometimes be clouded by emotion or ego, and making sure that I am
picking the right course of action in the treatment. To make an analogy, since we are speaking of
paths: why choose to travel on blind faith down a path when one can read a short description of
where that path will lead before hand? Why not make use of the information that others (ie. spirits
or deities), that obviously have the practical experience with cultivation, achieved over hundreds or
even thousands of years, to achieve life outside of a physical human body, have to offer? Sometimes
the direct and simple path is a good choice, and sometimes is not. If I may use another analogy, it's
like eating steak and potatoes all the time, yes, it will feed the body, but it will not make it excel.
The key, in my opinion, is knowing (intuitively) when to choose the right option at the right time,
whether it's the simple one or the complex. Hence why my training in mediumship as well ...
Anyhow, thank you for your time

If it works for you, that is fine. Be wise, be healthy, and be happy!

Sifu, this is a fascinating subject (entity issues)..I would love to know how you began
your work in these unseen realms of existence.

It is fascinating to know unseen realms, but quickly I realized how tiny and
insignificant I am. When I entered a door to the unknown, my view of the universe became totally
different and I traveled with my consciousness.
How did I begin my work? I purified myself in body, mind and spirit with the intention of treating
every one of my patients with dignity, sincerity, honesty and to the best efforts in my ability as if I
am going to save my own life. With that pure intention my healing power is charged. But most of
all I am supported by a group of universal healers from higher or beyond all cyclic realms. The
divine power runs through me. I cannot explain with our language. Words become meaningless. I
don't even know what I can and what I cannot do. The potentiality will manifest itself when a case
occurs.

Hi Sifu, I hope you are well..

During some research I have been doing recently I came across something the Native Americans
called 'Wetiko', which (for those who are unfamiliar with it) is their word to describe a kind of
psychic mind-parasite or a mind virus that apparently operates through the unconscious 'blind spots'
in the human psyche making people who suffer from it oblivious to spiritual truth and compels them
to act against their own best interests and against the best interests of others, eventually resulting in
a kind of collective psychosis amongst the population. I may be wrong but whilst reading about it, it
struck me that the concept of Wetiko has a lot of similarities with the entity issues you
describe...and I wondered how this relates to the entity issue and even if indeed it does relate at all,
or is the entity issue an entirely different thing?

I don't know anything about "Wetiko" and don't have the time or interest to find it out.
Life is short. Before you realize anything that has true value, time will run out. What's left will be
unforgivable regret for oneself.
You are a very intelligent man. You not only understand the value of what I'm sharing and also can
relate to it, but there is a big difference between tasting and possessing. So my advice for you is,
don't waste your time on always searching. It is endless. No matter how advanced technology we
have today, there's not much true value there. The limitation of our life span and the boundary of
our senses demonstrate that. You have to be aware that the wondering mind gets you nowhere and
then you have no time left. Find a right teacher, who you truly trust, respect and are willing to take a
chance to put your life in their hands, to study with. You will do yourself a favor by saving yourself
countless life times and be lifted by them if you are lucky. My teachers gave me their knowledge
and their energy that would be impossible for me to obtain by myself with many if not hundreds of
lifetimes. Don't let emotion dominate you and don't let sweet words deceive you. The Chinese have
a saying, "Good medicine tastes bitter to the mouth". Be the lucky one with a big heart and big
future. Without giving, you will not receive. Be the one who changes the environment and not let
the environment change you.

Dear Sifu Jenny, throughout history in different times in peoples lives, it is my

understanding that individuals working consciously have established positive relationships with non
- physical beings, even some of a great elevated nature, and have benefited from such a relationship.
of course sadly this is not frequently the case, In your experience, how do you view this? Is it not
true that under the right circumstances, in these positive relationships, accelerated learning and
spiritual development is potentially achievable . We as human beings live in multi-dimentions, both
on the material earth plane as well as planes that overlap, would you say that as we navigate and
make progress on our evolutionary path that we will inevitably encounter beings that can both help
or hinder our progress.

"Throughout history in different times that individuals working consciously have

established positive relationships with non - physical beings, even some of a great elevated nature,
and have benefited from such a relationship."
Yes, we still are, but only a very few lucky ones, chosen by higher beings.
As I mentioned in my article, entity issues are supposed to be rare. In the past, it was unusual to
hear of someone having such issues, but not today. Possibly there are more out there we are just not
aware of or no one wants to know about it. I am astonished myself. Ignorance is a force of darkness.
Being in the dark, one doesn't have to choose to stay in the dark. It is an individual's choice.
Unfortunately, nowadays, we are more connected to beings below the human realm rather than
higher, which is not without a reason. Things exist because the environment provides the conditions
for them. Today, our world is swollen with greed, hatred, and delusion. We inflate our desire and
deflate our wisdom. We want to gain results without working for them. In the past, human's wisdom
could lead individuals directly into contact with realms above. Today it is almost impossible. To be
connected to a higher realm has become extremely rare. If someone can, it is not because of their
ability, but for some reason they were chosen. A lot of spiritual practices have disappeared from this
world. If you ever heard of them, it is by name only. Dharma exists because of need and because it
suits the person.
Obviously, we are living in different times. The time of advanced technology, the time of machines
replacing the human body, the time of losing connection with nature, the time of self-destruction,
and the time of lack of the truth. Knowingly or unknowingly, we are losing ourselves. The functions
of our senses are degenerating. We made that choice, so we have to live with that choice. I was told
that future humans will be living in the half laying down position, only mind and fingers providing
the way of living. Of course, computers, robots, and remotes will carry out our demands. Computer
in Chinese literally means electronic brain. We are relying on it now. It has become a part of our
life. We are constantly in need of bigger memory chips or storage to store up our memories. What
irony to be human and give up our bodily functions to machines and be proud of it.
Different views produce different results. Our world is steeped in superfast productions, fast food,
fast fertilizer, fast grow what we need, fast pills, fast war, fast computers, fast internet, fast
communications, fast transportation, fast relationships, fast learning, and so forth. Fast expectations
are in every direction. We cannot even keep our mind in true serenity and steadiness for five
minutes. Our words and actions have no coherence. Our body cannot cope with our fast, changeable
and endless desiring mind. Communication between body and mind are in crisis. We are sick and
have more diseases than ever in human history. If you point out the truth, people will think that you
are trying to scare people. What a distorted mind. You can see the trend, whether we have more help
or hindrance and why.
Thus, what kind of right circumstances do we have now? What achievement can we expect? If we
can achieve being a normal human being, we are living in our golden time. Right encounter is the
result of right karma. If we don't respect that, how can we expect great encounters? Even if you
encountered, you may get no benefits from it. You are not ready for it. Time will be the witness
whether we are in evolution or regression. Merely watching tasty fruits in a picture does not provide
them on a table, only growing them, can we benefit from them.

Thank you Sifu, and thank you Mr. C. for asking the question.
Sifu, would you say that people's longing for contact with higher or extra-dimensional beings these
days is part of the problem? I am familiar with one particular place that specializes in dealing with
these types of beings, and the sense I get is that many of the people there sense the same disconnect
with nature and with truth that you wrote about, and that many of these people are lost, know they
are lost, and are looking for ways to reconnect.
But it seems the longing for contact with these beings is rooted in the problems you mention above,
people looking for a fast answer, people not doing the work, people stuck in the darkness. And it
seems that when these situations combine it creates an opportunity for the lower dimensional
entities to cause lots of problems for people. Sifu, I have another question that has been on my
mind.
When a person has a negative entity, it is my understanding that that entity can cause changes in
that person's behavior, affect their mind and their decision making process. Does this affect that
person's Karma?
Or in more practical terms, once that entity is removed, does that person still have remnants of the
karmic imprints or samskaras as a result of having an entity? If so, do these imprints or samskaras
leave them more vulnerable to entities?
Thank you, I appreciate anything you can share on the subject.

Feeling lost and longing for a reconnection is not a problem, but longing for what, and
reconnect with whom? Everything starts with intention. The wrong intention leads to the wrong
direction. We should ask ourselves deep down, what do we long for; for changing ourselves for
better or for solving our problems? For changing, one has to make an effort. Every change starts
within. For solving one's problems, what makes you think that you are not responsible for your
condition? Cause and effect are two sides of one coin. The principle of dependent causality will
never change. If you want a better life, you plant good seeds and work for it. Standing in a field
longing for aliens and spaceships is not a solution. It will not change your life for the better but
break your heart instead. Your curiosity and wrong longing is an invitation for entities to come.
People are never stuck in the darkness, if they don't want to be. In fact, we choose where we want to
be and who we want to associate with. No one can force you to make a choice that you don't want
to make. If change is your priority, nothing can stop you. That is the power of life.
Yes, it affects that person's Karma. The law of mutual causation of all actions is like clapping hands.
No sound will come out of one hand. Internal causes and external conditions together create the
outcome. Without intrinsic motivation, improper longing and thinking, one will not attract entities.
The relationship between the person and the entity is more like a marriage and becoming a family.
Both parties are responsible for the union and actions.
To bring an entity to oneself is only one type of entity issues, which differs from those who are after
you for justice because of your debts from past lives. Either way, you are in part responsible for
what happens to you.
Nevertheless, with proper understanding, you can create more positive Karma to change your life.
Those who are standing up and wrote a testimonial, in order to light up a path for others or trying to
help others, their selfless action is changing their Karma instantly. Life is in our own hands. For
better or worse, we are the creator. Moaning and complaining changes nothing.
Be aware, not necessarily all entities are bad or evil. In most cases, they just want your energy, if
they are not here for revenge. Of course, draining your energy will cause a lot of health problems
for you and as a result of that it may end your life earlier, but it was not their intention to kill you.
You are its or their home and life support. On the other hand, they have offered you something in
exchange as well. It's just that when you are in suffering, you forget what you received.
If an entity is removed in the proper way, there is no chance for any entities to reside again in this
person in the future. Otherwise, yes, they are more vulnerable to entities, because the passage is
open. Except in a lot of cases, people claim they have had an entity removed but if their health
condition remains the same, that is because the entity was not removed in the first place. This is not
because the entity reentered. Removing entities is not a simple job. I probably would never
volunteer for this, if I was not called to it. Nothing is more valuable than life itself, yours or mine.

Philosophically speaking, i sometimes wonder if it is ever possible for certain negative

factors to be overcome in this world. I mean, sometimes i think the world is a terrible placeother
times i think it's a wonderful place. Then i also think both are trueIt is a wonderful place where

ask, as i am very interested to know, what thoughts you can share regarding this dynamic Sifu
Jenny? Is peace possible on this planet or this plane of existance? Or are the imperfections what
makes this place so special. I mean do you think it is possible that we could all still evolve
spiritually without the suffering (By suffering i am refering to unneccesary cruelty that seems to be
prevalent on this planet at this time and many other times in history) I do not mean "how do we
evolve easily, effortlessly and painlessly" - you have to break the eggs if you want to make an
omlette after all, to use a crass expression. Terence McKenna has in the past said "there are no
points for good intentions in the game of evolution". It troubles me that good intentions count for
nothing, if that should be the case..Anyway i often think about this and i have no idea myself.
Hence i am interested to hear the thoughts of someone as adept and experienced as yourself.
Thankyou.

Everything is possible in this world. A Buddha only comes from the human realm. The
potentiality in the world is immense, as are the limitations. The question is what's possible to whom,
when and in what degree?
Things that happen or exist have their own reasons. Cause and effect will never change. There is a
cause, there will be an effect. The world is created by that and it also provides the perfect balance
for all existence. The problem is people only fear the outcome, but don't fear the cause and don't see
the connection. We make mistakes because of momentary impulses through the connection with our
six senses, but don't want to take responsibility for the consequences, and then pity ourselves and
complain about others.
You mentioned cruelty. Cruelty is not only when we are hurt. What is cruelty? Taking without
giving is cruelty. Destroying balance is cruelty. Irresponsibility for our actions is cruelty. Is it
possible that we could all still evolve spiritually? Yes and no, for individuals, yes; for everyone, not
in our time. One of my masters told me, in her lifetime, which was about 2000 years ago, 8 out of
10 people were practicing spirituality. People had spiritual longings and acted on it with their life
seriously and with dedication. Today, we don't even know how to practice, where to start and our
mind constantly changes due to self-concern. Making no progress and going nowhere.
For world peace, we have to acknowledge that we are not alone on this planet. As a matter of fact,
the world is made by biology. All the life on this planet has the right to live and to share what we
have been provided. We also have to be aware that what we cannot see does not mean non-existence
of other life. Through my healing work, I have learned from people's karmic cases that who has
suffered with his whole adult life in illness, is a result of irresponsible reckless actions in past lives,
by harming other unseen beings.
The world we are living in, the past, present and future, are all bound by cause and effect. Ignorance
about it does not free you from it. It is your past life karma that affects your present conditions, and
what you do in this life will in the same way reflect your life to come. So, do the math. Can we get
away from anything? The possibility to overcome certain negative factors is to correct ourselves in
the proper way and make peace with our past. That is also a very important part of my healing work
and why there is something that I can do but your pills cannot.
You have to know that evolution is not selective, but the result of the relationship of cause and
effect. The world is what it is as a result of collective karma from all of us. Like it or not, we have
to live with it. We are born into this world and at this time because of our common attributes. In
fact, there are countless worlds existing in the universe. Humanity is the smallest population and
shortest life cycle in this existence. You may think there are many other species have shorter lives
than us, but they repeat their lives as the same species for hundreds, thousands and countless
lifetimes. We don't. If you can come back as a human next life, you will be luckier than winning a
super lottery worldwide.
Thus, the life of human beings is so valuable because it is hard to obtain and we have choices to
direct our life whether to go up or go down. But we have limitations. Our biggest limitation is one
life is too short to make any priceless attainment, but every step you make towards your goal takes
you closer. Hence, we have to reach our achievement with our heart not our body. Therefore, to
have right guidance is absolutely crucial to elevate one's life.
Regarding Yin and Yang; Yin and Yang is our boundary. Where there is Yin and Yang there is life
and death, good and bad. We are battling between these extremes. If you can go beyond Yin and
Yang, you are truly obtaining immortality.
Good intention is everything. Every action starts with intention. Nevertheless, sometimes only good
intention is not good enough, because our senses are limited to the very present moment and
distance. We do not know the reason to be found in previous incarnation or the relationship between
things or what the consequences will be. But without good intention we cannot make a move in the
right direction. My advice is, don't entangle yourself with something others have said, but value
every moment of this life that can change your future forever.
Hello Jenny, you do not know me in person, but I have done your practice after
learning from Max. In any case, my questions are about healing , if you have time to answer.
Is healing others a path to realization, or should it be done sparingly until oneself has attained a high
level via practices such as meditation and neigong, etc? It seems kind of time consuming to get
involved with patients illness, and some teachers say "polluting", but on the other hand, is the
compassionate thing to do, and also right. I am also curious as to why you have switched to healing
as focus, when I think you have made an impact by teaching practises to people who are on the
path. Is healing making a larger impact elevating others?

The word realization has different meanings. It can refer to a certain degree of
understanding of certain things or full awakening. I am using it to mean full awakening. Regarding
a path to realization, any path can lead to realization if it is the right path for you. A tea god that I
know came to his realization through the way of tea, which was a natural path for him. Healing
becoming a part of my path at this time is not something that I planned for, nor was it because it is a
compassionate thing to do, as you mention, but it is the path that I accepted after being called to it.
"A person is what his deep desire is" (the Upanishads). My deep desire is to be fully awakened. For
that, I am willing to do everything that I can to follow the guidance of my great teachers. By
practicing letting go of the individual self, I opened my eyes and stepped into the great world of the
unknown.
Why did I shift my focus to healing instead of teaching practice? Teaching does not necessarily
have to be in a classroom or through seminars or lectures. Perhaps, the different times require
different teachings for different people. I find that healing can be a great tool for teaching and
learning at the same time. If I concern myself with gain or loss, purifying or polluting, it would not
be possible to have such a wonderful opportunity to enter this healing world and have wide
knowledge and ability for it. To suit the needs of our time is a practice of self surrender for me.
When teaching through saving someone's life, the impact on the person is immense. There is no
comparison with this and giving lessons. It doesn't mean I should open my arms to all people who
have problems. I am not a doctor. I am a healer. Most of all, I am a teacher. I still believe in self-
healing and self-realization. I cannot help those who are not willing to help themselves and not
willing to make an effort. I help those who have a karmic connection with me, can listen to my
advice and are willing to make an effort in every possible way. I do not see anyone who will not be
successful in their healing if helping themselves is their priority.
Through my healing work, I learned why there are so many spiritual practitioners having a hard
time to reach their goals. Health professionals cannot help themselves with their own professions,
and patients suffer with simple issues that cannot be treated. All these come down to the same
ground, that we have a lack of understanding of ourselves and the universe. We deny or ignore the
reality we are living in. We have our eyes in the wrong direction. In the future, the biggest disaster
for the human race will not be earthquakes or Tsunamis, or wars, but viruses. To change the world
we have to start changing ourselves. My teaching of respect "the cause and effect" through healing
is the path I am on now. There is no meditation or Neigong or alchemy that can save us if we don't
change our behavior for the better.

Miss Lamb, could you please explain in short what the Namo A Mi Tuo Fo mantra does
within ourselves?

It is a great purification, great karma reduction, great healing, great self-awakening,

great achievement.

Does the mantra have to be said aloud Sifu Jenny or can it be intoned silently and
internally.

It is best spoken, it says in the sutra. Also, one day my Celestial master said to me that
they worshipped me. I said why worship me? You are the one to support me and help me for healing
others, why worship me? You have a mouth to chant, we don't.

Thank you Sifu Jenny. I just would like to ask: how to recognize a real teacher. I have
had confusing experiences with people teaching dharma and because of that I am sceptical towards
all teachers, but I am really longing to find one that I can really trust and that can show me all the
way to total freedom and compassion. How can I recognise such a genuine teacher?

The pure heart provides pure intention, pure vision, pure devotion, and pure dedication.
If your heart is not pure, how can you have a pure vision? To encounter a right teacher is your
karma, but you can create this karma with your pure intention, not your judgment. How can you
have a right judgment when your heart is impure? Even if you have a chance to meet one, you will
not be able to recognize him/her. You are too much self-concerned with gain and loss. Be aware, it
is not you who picks the teacher. It is the teacher who is willing to accept you. All you can do is to
create chances for yourself in an absolute pure intention without selfish reasons or what you might
lose. Without loss, you will not gain. People with a pure heart, always one opportunity leads to
another.
Thank you Sifu. I request as well that you let people know (if they have an entity in
body), otherwise we may never know.

Things happening have their reason. Once I saw a student who was in my seminar and
was very sick because of an entity in the body. So I wrote to the student and told about the entity
issue, but the response was: "I am quite upset, and wish that you hadn't said anything." I learned my
lesson. Not everyone wants to know the truth.

Hi Sifu Lamb, I was wondering whether you are able to help people who are far away,
such as myself. I am in Malaysia and unfortunately am not able to travel.

Distance is not the main issue. It depends on your condition. Of course treating in
person is more powerful and faster. Some severe conditions I have to treat in person. Others can be
done from a distance. It is still effective, but requires more discipline and cooperation from patients.
It may take a little longer. I have helped people from Europe. Faith, faith and faith. Have faith in me
and faith in yourself. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to help yourself. If you need my
help, you can send me your information.

In the last year, I have noticed that most people whom I deal with on metals toxicity
issues also have parasite issues, and it is hard to see which came first, since the parasites make you
retain toxins, and the metals weaken your immunity to parasites. The entities you speak of are
obviously energetic parasites. Interestingly, the physical parasites seem to create food allergies,
which rapidly disappear when the parasites are eliminated, much the same as the man you cite. It is
frankly scary how this seems to be increasing.
For the physical parasites, there seem to be several causes, including failure to nurture your central
energy, plus, significantly, extensive electromagnetic pollution from our heavy wireless and
electronic usage.
The cultural aspects you mention undoubtedly fit into the picture as well. In regards to
psychic/energetic parasites (entities) you seemed to (maybe my interpretation) mention the entities
ability to fulfill the spiritual ego's need for experience of the fantastic as a entryway to let them in.
This is often found in literature of magic, such as is the case of Aleister Crowley, who died
miserable and insane, though was highly regarded by some for his psychic adventures. It is said that
he went to see Gurdjieff late in life looking for help, and Gurdjieff dismissed him quickly and said
something to the effect of, "You are beyond help now." Can you talk on factors that invite such
being to take root?
The cause for the entity issues is very complex. What we know is still limited and on
the surface level, because each individual is different. While I am helping people, I am also
studying their commonality. The entities appear in different categories and under different names:
Karmic creditors: those are related with karmic issues. In fact, everyone has karmic creditors
because of our cyclic existence we have lived. Everyone has to pay their debts one way or
another. That is inevitable. These we normally do not call entities, rather by the name of
karmic creditors.

This depends on your debts. Some karmic creditors are more harmful than others. The
harmful ones are those who are determined to go after you because of unpaid karmic debts,
especially related with a life you may have taken in the past. With this kind of anger, no
matter how long it takes or how many life times it takes, they will find you and make you
pay. They can be born into your family to destroy you, or cause you an incurable disease and
painful death, or attacking you when you are vulnerable, or by any unexpected way to tear
you down.
Encountered by accident: You are at the wrong place at the wrong time. Those often appear
as a sudden change to one's physical or mental health. This type is rare.
Move into a haunted house: Normally, if you just leave you will be ok, if the spirit is not so
wicked. But if you insist on staying, or fighting for it, or making a deal with it, you will have
trouble later on. Either you need to find someone very knowledgeable and able to
communicate with them and make them willingly leave or move yourself out.
Invited: entities among practitioners are mostly invited. The wrong view provides an
opening or invitation for an entity to come. Today, people search for power in every aspect.
They study meditation, not for the purpose of enlightenment or to search for truth or
understanding of life, but for the power of sex, or to open the third eye, or to obtain magic to
seduce people, or show off, or to contact aliens or I don't want to be anyone physical's
student I can just ask the universe for a spirit to teach me, etc. Being suicidal makes you
available for an entity as well. All kinds of quests without a proper guide.

Invited entities are not ordinary entities. They were powerful practitioners in their past lives
but went the wrong way because of ego or were seduced by power and ended up in the lower
realms. However, their ability is maintained and they have a desire to continue with their
practice whether it is for getting out of there or for whatever reasons. In order to do so, they
need Yang to sustain their life span or the length of their awakening time. In the lower realm,
your energy and life force is very limited. You have little Yang and cannot sustain it very
long for practice. The past ability gives them power to cross the realms to search for Yang.
Humans are a great source of Yang to them. By law, they cannot just take it without consent
or a good reason. It will be a crime as robbery and will carry heavy karmic debts. So they
will exchange, by offering you what you long for and take what they want. It suits perfectly
for today's practitioners. They give you eyes to see, they take your Yang to live and
dominate you.
The wrong view is the cause for this exchange to take place. Most people who have an entity
in them commonly deny they had any wrong thinking. Be aware, those powerful entities can
read your mind, even your subconscious mind. Therefore, practicing in the wrong way is far
more dangerous than if you don't do any practice.
Finding a right guide is crucial and beneficial for anyone who is seeking a spiritual path.

Would you please share your criteria for attending the healer's training program, I am
interested and would like to know when it will start.

Many people are interested in my healer's training program and want to know when it
will start and qualifications required of the students. I don't know when or if ever. I let celestial
masters choose. I teach seminars to draw interested people. I teach retreats as a screening agent. To
find 10 right people may be a wish too high, but if there is one right person comes to the door, I will
be there to serve. If you just want to be trained as a skillful healer, take my retreats as much as you
can as an opportunity. Every retreat will be a bit different from now on. But to be qualified as a
ready student is a different issue. I am not easy to please. There is nothing you can offer me, other
than your readiness, which will interest me.
Readiness:
1. First readiness: you are born ready, which means that you are after something life after life.
Your goal drives your determination and devotion. Your goal is your priority to exist. Your
action is compelled by subconsciousness. You create your karma.
2. Second readiness: everything you do in this life enhances your readiness. When the
opportunity arises you will not miss it. Your goal drives your determination and devotion.
You will give up everything for that goal. Your goal is your purpose for this life. Your action
is compelled by determined consciousness. You change your karma.
3. Possible readiness: conditioned readiness, which means if I am called for it, if I see the
signs, if I have time and money, if it does not conflict with my other plans and schedule, if I
don't have to give up my other hobbies, if it is not too much trouble, if I feel like it, and so
forth Your action is compelled by a fluctuating mind. Your actions are swayed by your
karma.
4. Unreadiness: You think about it, but it's merely a thought and you never take any action on it
or there are always obstacles preventing you from taking any action. Your actions are
compelled by your karma.
Most people (that are interested in a spiritual path) are in the third category. Only the first and
second categories of readiness count to be ready for walking on the true spiritual path. When you
are ready, everything comes your way. You are honest and humble. You have a pure heart for all
your passions. You have the ability to see your own faults. You are easily correcting yourself and
moving on with your life. Your priorities are straight. You are not looking for personal gain to
increase your individuality. You determine to change your karma with everything you've got. You
are willing to use every breath to obtain your goal regardless of what comes. You are not bound by
your personal issues or take anything personally. Your compassion and loving kindness is
unconditioned but wise. You are able to see and accept the true as it is. You have a high goal. You
are cultivating, cultivating and cultivating, regardless of the outcome.
When you are not ready, you are the opposite of readiness. You have a lack of faith, have doubts
and regrets all the time, don't trust yourself or others, have a hard time to accept truth and want to
live on your own fantasized ideals. You are unable to see your own faults but complain about others
for all your failures. You easily give up your effort for your goal. You prefer phenomena to reality.
Your six senses are all outward and unable to turn around. Personal gains dominate your heart. You
are always looking for results and returns and are always conditioned in your actions. You can only
hear praise not criticism. You don't really know what you want. Your actions are dominated by your
emotions. You are not truthful to yourself. You willingly dwell on the illusions.
Everyone likes to hear the good about themselves but I am here to make myself very unpopular.
Nevertheless, I am not trying to praise anyone or disparage anyone, but simply to share a truth for
those who are longing to walk on the spiritual path. I do not mean to say that one that is not ready
for one thing, is not ready for anything. It is just a straightforward response for those who have been
asking me about readiness or want to know what my opinion of readiness is.
Through my experience of teaching and healing, I am starting to be aware that even when one wants
to restore his/her health, he/she has to be ready for it. Meaning one has to set one's priorities straight
and be willing to do whatever it takes.

Dear Sifu Jenny, I appreciate what you wrote above very much so. I think it is true and
well reasoned. My questions arise from wondering, what happens if you are in readiness states
(3=possible) or (4=unready)? How can you move yourself to a different state? Is there any kind of
(daily?) practice that can begin to prepare the student to move to a different state of readiness? In
gratitude and thanking you for providing sincere food for thought.

Thank you for asking. To be able to move oneself up, the first thing is to be able to
recognize where you are standing and have a wish to move up. This wish is not an empty thought
but it carries determination and devotion.
The following is my experience to share as a student and as a teacher. Please do not take it
personally if you feel it offends.
1. Identify your true goal: A lower goal does not carry much weight in strength and
determination, reaching it or not does not impact your life that much. You naturally care less
whether you succeed or not. Any obstacles that appear can persuade you to cease your effort.

A true goal or a high goal motivates you. You know what you are really looking for and why
it is so vital to you. You are willing to do anything and give up everything for it. You will not
regret your effort whether it takes 10 years, 20 years or a lifetime. You will not complain
about others for your failures, because the path you chose is not requested by anyone, or to
impress anyone or win anything, but for the sake of improving your own being.
2. Find a right teacher: A good teacher is vital to your success. It brings a light to shine on your
path. It can eliminate your wrong choices and shorten your path. But to find a right teacher,
who has knowledge, wisdom, and is willing to guide you on your path is not easy. If you
find one, put your trust in him or her and follow his or her instructions without doubts or
bargains.

Trust is a bridge for teaching. Without trust the true teaching cannot be transmitted. It is not
the teacher who does not want to help you. It is you who brings a full cup for more
teachings. How can you fit more in when the cup is full with self-righteousness and doubts?
Trust is a channel between you and your teacher. When the channel is blocked nothing can
go through. You can bring the same question to ask every teacher you meet or anyone you
know. If you are not ready to listen, you are no more than a spiritual shopper and not a true
practitioner.

To be accepted as a disciple is not easy to achieve. It is not your apparent ability or your title
or your money that your teacher is interested in, but your fundamental quality. That is your
virtue and ability to let go of your ignorance and individuality. In short, if you can be taught.
3. Be humble when you ask for teachings and diligent with your practice: Humbleness and
respect are essential qualities for being a student. On the spiritual path, if you wear your title
or education as a headband all the time, you will be left where you are. You have to know
that your title or degree helps you not at all and gets you nowhere on this path. Humbleness
opens the door for teachings. Diligent practice demonstrates your dedication and devotion.
4. Associate with right friends: Birds of a feather flock together. Associating with higher goal
friends can only lift you up. It benefits you with support, courage, strength, and wisdom.
You can learn from each other. Wrong friends drag you down with their problems, lack of
self-esteem, distress, depression and complaints.
5. Stop complaining and blaming, and let go of self-pity and regrets: In order to move up to a
readiness level, you have to be able to recognize your own faults and be willing to let go and
move on. The attitude of complaining and blaming others for all your failures in life
prevents you from admitting your mistakes and acknowledging your ignorance, which
blocks you from finding a way to change your karma. Holding self-pity and having regrets
all the time depresses you. It is not healthy and wastes time in shame and sorrow. Regrets do
not change the past, only proper action does. That is moving on with your life without
repeating your mistakes.
6. Stop trying to take advantage of others or intentionally harming others: It damages your own
causal body. There is no advantage anyone can take, karma balances everything. If some
people try to harm you, let their karma take care of them. No need to waste your breath. Live
by following your principles and you will have no regrets and live in peace.
7. Be willing to let go of self righteousness. The sign of success in practicing is how much you
are able to diminish yourself. To let go of self righteousness is a vehicle to success, because
self righteousness prevents you from seeing the truth as it is.

To recognize self righteousness can be a touchstone for insight practice. The degree of self-
righteousness can be observed through fluctuations of your emotions. How do you respond
to the things that you do not like to hear or are not ready to hear or are opposite than your
beliefs? Are you uncomfortable or angry or want revenge? If you consider yourself a
practitioner, this is your practice moment by examining your emotions occurring from the
ocean of your heart, whether it is a ripple, a small wave, or a surge. To be able to be aware,
acknowledge, identify, accept and let go of it is the key.

Practice is not limited to watching your breath on your cushion, but to carrying your practice
into your daily life. That is true practice. It is called 24/7 and will lead you to the next level
of readiness.

We are doing constant healings for the people of Japan as well as the rest of the planet.
So much happening now, just trying to stay centered and help people stay out of fear.... interesting
times. Would love to hear your perspective or an email update to everyone from you about how you
feel we can better assist others during these times.

Awakening Call
At this moment in time, what we saw happen in Japan should be a mirror to all of us. How fragile
our lives are. No matter how much you possess, how powerful you are or how famous you want to
be, everything can be destroyed in the wink of an eye. A catastrophe can happen to anyone at any
time. As an individual, we should not let the grief or fear dominate us, but should let it help to
liberate us from greed, hatred and delusion. We should learn from the phenomena of nature to
restore our spirits with compassion and loving kindness, to share every moment we have with
others, whether they are human beings or a life of another kind. We should work together to protect
our planet with love and wisdom, and learn to share and live together in peace. May this disaster
awaken a resolution to be a better person living in the world and take on our duty to make a great
contribution to humanity! May those who lost their lives be reborn into a better world! May
purifying our hearts be our primary practice, to illuminate our world!

Just something that came to me, I guess it comes to every practitioner at some point....
It has come to me many times. Simple answer could be keep practicing... I don't know with any of
the practice I am doing - if I am making any progress?
As a practitioner you have to have a goal and it has to be a high goal to give you
motivation to continue. There are times in anyone's practice when they don't know if they are
getting anywhere. You have to keep the goal in your heart and keep practicing anyway. Without a
goal, it's easy to lose strength to persevere. Practice should not just be routine. You have to invest it
with your mind and energy.
How does one know if one makes any progress or not? Check if your goal is fading away from your
heart or not. Are you healthier, happier or wiser? Are the people around you inspired by you or not?
Check my Q & A at my website about being a ready student as well.

From your Q/A section, "How does one know if one is making any progress on one's
path? Check whether your personal needs are getting less; your living style returns to simplicity;
your mind has no longer craving on your habits; your feeling is less extreme; it becomes easy to let
go of anything; you enjoy practicing generosity; you are less judging of others and have the ability
to see your own faults; you are honest to yourself and to others; and most of all that you have less
ego. " Can you recommend any reading to support this inner spiritual process?

The inner spiritual process is not the result of reading, but practice by living it.
Practitioner, in Chinese, is Xiu Xing Zhe , meaning one who corrects one's own (wrong)
actions or behavior. My favorite book is "I Am That" by Nisargadatta Maharaj.

I was happy to speak to you today. I think what you're doing to heal people is the most
important thing you could do right now to serve humanity. I ask you to teach me to be a healer -
even if no one else is ready. I will come to you, every other week. I will cook and clean for you, and
pay you whatever you ask. I see such need in my own family, my own community. I feel a longing
every day to help people.
I do trust that you know better than I about what is needed and about how to proceed. But I felt
compelled to tell you what I'm feeling. There is a need that's not being met by our medical system. I
see it every day. I am doing the best I can for those who come to me, but I know that I could offer
much much more if I had a portion of your wisdom.
I know you're very busy with your work, and that you might not have the time to train me. If
nothing else, I'd appreciate it if you'd tell me what to read, practice, and study. I have a handle on
the information you've presented to us in your seminars and retreats. Is there something I could be
working on, besides doing yigong and the mastering the information on channels and meditations
you've given, to help me become a healer? I don't want to be an annoyance to you, and I will accept
whatever you decide with grace and ease. But I want to make clear my intention to learn and serve
humanity.
Thank you, Jenny, for the wonderful guidance you've given us, your devoted students. Much love
and respect.

I know you are serious and dedicated. But training someone to be a great healer is not
that simple by reading some books and doing more physical exercises. Both teacher and student
have to build a strong trust bond with their lives, and both need to put tremendous time and effort
toward this transformation. This healing training program will be offered one time only. It is not my
call to select the students. Rather, my celestial masters will bring 10 students to me. When will it
be? I don't know. When we have ready students, I will do my duty. The process of the program will
be like washing gold from sand.
Be aware, this is not some side job to make extra money for the students. They have to be serious
and cannot quit. It is a lifetime devotion to serve humanity. I will help to assist students to connect
with celestial masters for healing abilities, but it is their merit and virtue that attract celestial
masters to support them. Please read my Q & A on "be a ready student" on my website.

I have heard through the thetaobums forum that you are starting to train healers. I was
wondering about the following. I am an MD, getting some training in acupuncture and recently did
a workshop with Michael Lomax (Stillness movement) on medical qigong.
What does your training include? Is it meant as purely standalone training or can it be learned in
addition to other training one is undergoing?
Currently I am resident in Ophthalmology but plans are made for starting an alternative oriental
medical practice during the next 2 to 4 years.

My healer training course is nothing to do with MD or TCM. It is good to have a

medical background, but it is not necessary. Sometimes too much knowledge of school education
can be one's obstacle to knowing. My healer training is challenging of medical science and to be
able to treat incurable disease, cancer, or difficult problems, and especially related with spirit issues,
possession or haunted by spirits.
The qualifications for this training are that one must possess a pure heart and be willing to serve
humanity as a life duty. This is a job that one cannot quit. This is not something that when you need
money you take a job and quit when you don't. If one's actions are the result of selfish reasons, one
will not be protected from catching disease during the healing or will be troubled by evil spirits
when one encounters them. Only selflessness gives you courage and fearlessness to help others.
Only your compassion and selflessness will open your heart to see the truth and also will attract
divine beings to support and protect you. Otherwise, one will not have such ability to achieve what I
have described above, although you will still have a lot of knowledge and skills to do healing work.
The main training includes constantly purifying our heart, diminishing self concern and letting go of
this individuality. Be able to go within and see within. Be able to make a transformation in
ascending to a higher spiritual level of the universe. Be able to see the world from a different
perspective. Develop the healing abilities. Have knowledge of cosmology. Knowing how we can
balance our life though proper living and using our food to heal ourselves, and so forth.
Ordinary training obtains ordinary results. Whatever your other training is, if you are a healer or
Qigong master, if you cannot heal yourself, the value of your knowledge is very limited. What you
learn and what you become is related with your quality, your goal, your effort and the source of
your knowledge. A small heart has a small achievement. A big heart has a big achievement. The
quality of your nature determines the knowledge you can access. I am only here to serve.

I heard that you are offering healing sessions to help people. Please let me know how to
go about getting such a session...

Yes, I am offering energy healing to help people. However, in order to help people
effectively, I have to know your case in detail first. Good energy work is not simply, as people
think, to put a hand on people waiting for an instant healing or an empty promise. The healing
process is related to many issues, such as Yin and Yang, time and space, energy, knowledge of
cosmology and so forth. Every condition and situation is different. Some need causal body repair, or
physical body repair, or Jing, Qi, Shen repair (in Chinese), or dealing with spirits, etc. In order to
help you, I have to know your full name, birthdate, where you are, your illness and how long you've
had it, and history of your health, because some health issues are related to side effects from
medicine taken for treating other issues. It would also be helpful to have a recent picture of you.
After I know your situation and condition, I will know what will be involved in healing and will let
you know how many sessions you need etc.

I have a client whose husband has IPF of the lungs. It is fibrotic cysts in the lungs that
grow rampant. He is on oxygen and slated for a lung replacement. The doctor says he will not make
it. They will be going to Ohio standing by for the lung replacement and I wanted to tell her about
you in case they wanted treatment. What do you think?

I will need more information about the patient with IPF. Such as the birthday, the
history of his health, the current doctor's diagnoses and treatment, and most of all, if the patient
himself is willing to ask for energy healing. I don't want to treat those who do not want to be helped
or do not want to make any effort towards his or her healing. That is my principle. It is also to
respect the patient's wishes.
If he needs my help I will do my best to help him. But he may have to come to me. If he cannot
leave because of medical reasons, for instance, he cannot get out of bed or needs to be hooked to a
machine all the time, maybe it can be arranged for me to go to his home for the treatment.
It is human nature that what comes easy is easy to go. For those make great effort, the result will be
great as well.

I received your DVD on Saturday and think it is wonderful. Thank you very much for
your efforts. I have a simple question (hopefully not asked before - I didn't see it): do you have to
part feet in between each of the Ten Essential Exercises, or if they are done in sequence, can you
just do it at the beginning and end?

It is designed to part and close feet for each movement. The parting and closing feet
movement itself is exercise for controlling the balance of the body. Not flopping over without
knowing. It also helps your mind to be aware of the details of how the body shifts balance. If you
prefer to do it at the beginning and ending that is fine.

I am a practising Buddhist, and i was wondering whether your yigong pratice was
compatable with mantra (i use om mani padme hum) and the white skeleton visualization
meditation.
I have to ask, because this mantra was incompatable with another type of qigong i was using, but
i've stopped using it now.

Yigong does not conflict with your Buddhist practice.

I already practice 8 pieces of brocade sitting and standing sets, is it okay for me to also
practice your spontaneous qigong along with my other exercises? The qigong i use now is very
basic, just stretching really, but i just want to make sure it is compatible with your yigong system.

In general, I don't know all other practices, cannot make individual comparisons and
don't want to waste time on that. Life is short. Why waste time on every possible choice. Instead,
choose one practice that works for you and stick with it, in order to use your limited life span to
obtain the most benefit and achievement.
Of course, it is your own decision to choose whatever you want to practice. Please read my
comment on combining energetic practices from Q & A. Fundamentally speaking, there is no
problem to combine eight pieces of Brocade Qigong or any other basic practice with Yi Gong.
Remember the general principle, which is to drop what is harmful and keep what is beneficial.

I was just wondering about the energetic aspect of Yi-gong. I've been feeling this
incredible surge of energy in certain areas (mostly in the back, between the shoulder-blades). The
energy feels very "orgasmic". I was wondering if Yi-gong uses sexual energy or if not, what is this
strong surge of energy from? Why does it feel so good?

Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong, Yi Gong level 1, opens all channels if you practice
properly. All types of energy, sexual or not are produced from organs as the body needs them for its
own purpose and are transmitted through channels to reach the surface of the body and produce
emotions or feelings. Your having a blissful feeling is good, but it neither means the Yigong is using
sexual energy, nor not using sexual energy. Yi Gong focuses on develop awareness and wisdom.
That should be your core of practice. Don't get stuck on a side attraction and lose the great goal.
Look at the brightness of the moon, not the fingers. Keep moving on to deepen your mind
development. That's the meaning of Yigong.

I am interested in learning how we might work together. I'm interested in Qigong for
health reasons. I am mid 60's age and taking no medications at all but recognize the loss of energy
and vitality. I have begun the practice of dantien breathing and noticed remarkable results.
I am a Buddhist in the HsuYun/Linji lineage. My formal meditation practice is about 10 years. I've
studied and contemplated the "Zen" sutras and others and also have studied and contemplated Sri
Nisargadatta Maharaj for some time now. I have no doubts about the validity of Buddha's teachings
or the nature of being within the teachings of the Mahayana. I am writing to you because I
understand that you have a deep interest in Buddhism. I recognize in your words the same essential
understanding as I have of the nature of perception and of mind. I think it would be helpful for me
to study Qigong with someone who is familiar with Buddhist terms and practices.
Previously I've looked into Qigong as it is understood in Taoist symbols and culture and I can't
make very much sense of the symbols as stated. My sources are limited to the teachers available on
line and in publications in English and in the US. I simply cannot figure out what is legitimate. The
problem for me is that I often seem to find that dualistic notions are being pointed to as ultimate
spiritual truth. I've asked for clarification and have either been dismissed or found defensiveness. I
really think that just a few words or pointers would clear most of this up for me. It is obvious to me
that Qigong is a dualistic practice and is one for which clarifications can be found, however I need
to be able to speak to someone who does not confuse the non-dual potential with the dualistic
practice. This seems to be a problem with quite a few new Qigong teachers in the US. Not wishing
to be critical, I'd really like to be able to sort this out for myself.
The Chan tradition as I have been taught rarely ever address the physical body as much of a door to
awareness or higher samadhi. It is obvious to me that it is possible and I would look forward to
learning how this is practiced with Qigong. I am very satisfied with the Buddhist meditation, huatou
and awareness practices and am not looking for some other or better "spiritual" practice. I am not
much of a "seeker" of exotic experiences or states of mind anymore. However if I am going to be
doing this Qigong energy work for health reasons, It certainly does seem that they would be more
effective if approached from the place of prajna wisdom. Perhaps you could assist with the
understanding for that? I do not ask for teaching on your own tradition's spiritual practice.
Here is a quote from Yamaoka Tesshu (1836-1888) who expresses my understanding.
"How heal the phantom body of its phantom ill,
Which started in the womb?
Unless you pluck a medicine from the Bodhi-tree,
The sense of karma will destroy you."
Even though Yamaoka may not have had Qigong in mind, it seems appropriate. I wish to learn the
particulars of how Qigong might be practiced more effectively as medicine from the Bodhi Tree.

All methods are dualistic. There is absolutely no non-dualistic method. Anything you
perceive is dualistic. The important thing is for those who are searching for non-duality should not
to be caught by the idea of non-duality. Dualistic and non-dualistic are derived from same source.
To realize that you cannot find non-duality without being in the existence of duality is crucial,
because non-duality is not separate from duality.
Buddha-dhtu is non-duality, our mind is not. They co-exist in all of us. All sentient beings have
this intrinsic nature or Buddha-dhtu, which gives us a potentiality to reach enlightenment. When
you let go attachment of all appearances, even the ideal of non-duality, you are a Buddha,
intrinsically pure. Don't looking for nyat from elsewhere, but the intrinsic nature is within
oneself.
You use Yamaoka Tesshu's verse to support what your understanding is or the way you want to do
Qigong, but I don't think that you understand what his verse means. It has nothing to do with
Qigong. He basically says that your body and its illnesses are phantoms, not real. How can you cure
phantom illnesses? Only by obtaining enlightenment (plucking the medicine from the Bodhi-tree)
can you escape your Karma. He speaks from an absolute point of view. I would suggest you to
study two truths doctrine, the absolute truth and relative truth from Buddhism, which gives you
more sense of Yamaoka Tesshu's true presentation.
In addition, Praj, wisdom does not only come from Buddhism, it can be found everywhere in our
daily life. Being a Buddhist should not separate ourselves from the world or dislike the world, but to
accept who we are, and try to be a better person living in the world. Whatever reason makes you
want to practice Qigong, try to make it simple, not complicate yourself and mix it with a doctrine
that you don't fully grasp.
Hello Sifu Jenny, I have a question about Celestial Masters. You refer to them in the
Q&A mp;A section of your website and I keep wondering what they are, so finally decided to ask.
At first, I figured they must be Taoist deities, but googling the term consistently brings up
references to a sect of Taoists from long ago. Is that what (who) you're referring to (i.e., deceased
Masters from that sect)?
Ok, that was a head question, now a practice related one. I've been doing Spontaneous Adjustment
Qigong for two weeks now, and what I experience is nothing like what I see on the DVD. I tend to
spiral (arms), flop back and forth (legs) and generally jerk about with rather spastic movements,
sometimes at an alarming rate of speed. I know you've repeatedly cautioned that everybody's
experience is unique, but I was wondering if this might be just a beginning, temporary phase. I'm
not really worried - it's just what my body seems to want to do (also have had some emotional
content come up) - but I thought I'd check since I was writing.
One other thing. Regarding writing, there's nothing above that I NEED to get an answer to, and you
are probably getting LOTS of emails with the release of your DVD, so if you'd rather I write only
when (if) absolutely necessary, I will definitely understand. Just let me know. Really.

The Celestial Masters what I referred to are not deceased Masters from a Taoist sect,
but celestial beings (Tian Ren ) from the Gods realm and some beyond that. There are six
realms described in Buddhism. There are Gods, demi-gods, human, animal, hungry ghost and hell
realms. The deceased masters from Taoism may be called Xian Ren , if he or she reached the
Xian Jie (the land of immortals according to Taoism. However Xian Ren is not really
immortal). "Xiu Dao Cheng Xian " (to cultivate the Way to become an immortal) is
commonly a goal in Taoism, but not necessarily is it the only goal. The cultural ideal or expression
is very difficult to translate from one language to another. To know it properly, you may need to
dive into the culture in order to fully understand the truth behind the beliefs.
Yes, the movements happening to you are the beginning stage. It will change accordingly
throughout your progress. There is nothing to be concerned about if you feel benefit from the
practice. Movement is movement. It doesn't matter how it looks. The importance is what works for
you, helps your healing and improves your wellbeing. Be patient, have faith in yourself and keep
the perseverance in your practice. You will have a great discovery from your own experience.
Yes, I am very busy, especially, when I am doing my healing work. I want every treatment that I do
to be successful. Success depends on concentration and devotion, even when one knows what to do.
Please only ask questions related to your practice when absolutely necessary.

Hello Sifu, I am very interested in your Spontaneous Adjustment practice. I have not
looked into the Kunlun craze because I do not get a good feeling from Max. Sorry to even bring that
up. But I do get a good feeling from you, and I trust that your system is what you say it is. Thank
you for sharing your knowledge.
My questions are, how does your system fit into the Alchemical processes described in books like
"Nourishing the Essence of Life" by Eva Wong and "Secret of the Golden Flower"? Is Yigong the
same as Neigong/Internal Alchemy? Is it a part of this process?
Also, can your practice be used along side Zen meditation?
And finally, would I be able to practice this just from the DVD? I would love to take a seminar or
retreat, and as you say direction from a teacher would be invaluable, but I do not have the time or
money right now to travel. Would the DVD be a step in the right direction at least?

Thank you for having trust and faith in me, but please don't bring other people into the
discussion in the future. Try to be always in harmony with ourselves, with others and with
surroundings. That is part of our practice.
I cannot compare the Yigong system with other's books. I don't do spiritual shopping and
comparison. I am sure they are all great. Yet, life is short, why waste it on shopping, not practicing,
when you know what you have is of immeasurable value. Yigong is not only nourishing, healing,
purifying one's life, it contributes to one's spiritual ascent. Yigong works for me and contributed to
who I am today. I appreciate all my lineage masters who developed and passed down this priceless
system to me.
Yes, you can practice along with your Zen meditation. Remember, meditation should not be limited
to the cushion. In fact, the spontaneous adjustment Yigong is a moving meditation. In Chan (Zen)
tradition, a master often sends his students to work in a field to do meditation through their work.
That is called 24/7 meditation.
Yes, you can practice Yigong starting with the DVD, it contains enough information for pointing
you in the right direction. Of course, a live teacher will be the best choice.

Does your spontaneous qigong open up all the energy channels of the body?
I need a system that will open all the channels, to help my meditation. Because as master William
Bodri says:
'When you cultivate meditation, you want to reach samadhi. You cannot reach samadhi unless your
chi mai all open. So, many methods have the purpose of helping you clear your chi channels.'
Does your spontaneous qigong open up all the energy channels of the body?

Spontaneous adjustment Qigong does open up all the channels. Of course, the
probability depends on one's own effort. Anyway, samadhi should not be the goal of meditation.
Samadhi is just a tool to help generate wisdom. Wisdom helps to lead to enlightenment.
Enlightenment is the goal.

If I may ask, does the Maoshan lineage interact/ally with the nagas? And if so, are they
just a part of the 'spiritual' side of yi-gong, or are they part of the system as a whole? I was curious
as I remember seeing the book "The Return of the Serpents of Wisdom" book posted on your
Facebook wall at one point and its mention of the nagas. Hope you are well.

I don't mind answering people's questions, when I have time and if my answer can be
helpful to contribute their studies. But I don't want to encourage people to go on and on with a
question that leads them nowhere. I want to give them a guide to be able to search within, that
makes my help meaningful. My advice for you is to stop caring about what is irrelevant to your
practice. Otherwise, you will always be walking horizontally with six limited faculties. It gets you
nowhere. Find a way to walk vertically, to see more and know more.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure I understand your perspective concerning my
inquiry. My question was mine, and concerned my individual experience. Besides being the only
question concerning the practice that I have asked you, I also did not go "on and on" with that
question as I only wrote you once about it, and then clarified why I was asking it in the first place.
My concern was obviously very relative to this practice as the dream (which was unusual to say the
least), which was specifically related to the question I posed, had disturbed me enough to sideline
my study of yi-gong; and all I was looking for was a bit of reassurance about it. It is unreasonable to
expect someone to stop 'caring' when an experience directly impacts their life. But it is your
prerogative to interpret my question any way you wish. Good fortune in your travels.

I hope that my answer did not upset you. Please do not take it personally. You did not
ask a direct question. First, why do the Nagas have anything to do with your Yigong practice? I
never mentioned anything about Nagas through my teaching. Second, in your original question, you
did not say anything about your dream, and why it disturbed you. Later you mentioned a dream but
gave no details about it. If you need my help, because you dreamed Nagas that impact your life, you
have to say so, so that I know what you are talking about. Not just a random question about Nagas.
You stated that 'I was curious as I remember seeing the book "The Return of the Serpents of
Wisdom" book posted on your Facebook wall at one point and its mention of the nagas.' I didn't
post the book on the site and know nothing about it. I do not want to encourage curiosity for
curiosity's sake. If you are concerned about your practice and want reassurance, make it direct and
understandable.
I said that "I don't want to encourage people to go on and on with a question that leads them
nowhere", because "I want to give them a guide to be able to search within". I did not mean that it
was you going on and on with your questions. It was a general statement about wandering mind. I
spend time answering people's questions not only hoping to help the person who asked the question,
but also to benefit others who have similar issues. Sharing is generosity. I'm sorry if I have not been
very helpful to you.
If you want a more specific answer about Nagas in your dream, I need to know more about the
dream and why it affected you.
If you want to keep your question and my answer for yourself, let me know. Otherwise, I may put it
on the Q & A section on my website. It is good to share. It may help others to ask direct questions,
if they want to be helped. No worries. I only share questions and won't show your name.

Hi Jenny. I purchased your DVD - it's great. I have a few questions about the
"Spontaneous Adjustment" practice:
1. Can this be a daily practice? If so, how long would you recommend practicing each day? 30
min, 1 hour? Is it possible to practice too much?
2. Is the practice "hard" or draining on the kidneys? If so, should I be doing additional
practices to strengthen the kidneys?
3. Where does the energy come from to power this practice? Is it internal energy - i.e. Jing? or
is it the universal Dao energy?
4. Before purchasing your video, I had read Max's book. I know that the the Kunlun 1 is
different from Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong, and I assume that it's because of the close
down - putting right palm over belly, and left hand on top. Is it correct that Spontaneous
Adjustment Qigong does not do this? We just root the energy to the lower Dantien and that's
the close?
5. Would you recommend doing tonification exercises first and then doing Spontaneous
practice, or does it not matter?

1. It can be your daily practice. As for time, 30 minutes to an hour is a good length for routine
discipline. However, there is no strict rule for making progress with a time table. Your body
will let you know how much is too much or enough practice. Sometimes, you may find
yourself deepen into a state of subconscious awareness for hours, but it feels a moment to
you. You lose a sense of time and space, but awareness stays alone.
2. The practice is not hard on the kidneys. On the contrary, it balances the kidneys and all the
other organs.
3. The energy does not come from elsewhere but your body itself. Of course, you are not
separated from the world, but a part of the world. I suggest you to do your practice in order
to get first hand experience.
4. Bring your mind to Dantian to store your energy there in closing. If you follow the DVD and
do all the practices it's only necessary to cover your belly at the end, not after each practice.
Men left over right and women right over left. The inner hand either covers navel or lower
Dantian. Either way is fine.
5. Spontaneous practice is purification and tonification. When you've purified yourself from
unwholesome energy, what fills you will be the energy that strengthens and tonifies you.

I have one questions if i may about my yigong practice. I practice the sitting
spontaneous adjustment twice a day. Twenty minutes activation posture [holding a ball, heels
raised] and then ten minutes sitting rebalancing, then all the tapping etc. Usually somewhere
between 15 and 20 minutes in activation my kidneys begin to ache, sometimes bad. My chinese
doctor says i have weak kidney chi [long before i begun practicing yigong]. I was wondering
whether that ache was a sign of healing or something negative. I had the idea that the blissful/warm
feeling generated by the yigong practice was caused by activating the original chi [yuan chi], or
some other chi related to the kidneys, and that possibly this was weakening my kidneys further.
I have decided to move my dinner time to about 4pm so that i can practice during the kidney time
[5-7pm] in a hope of strengthening them.
Would love to hear your input on this.

You have a kidney deficiency. If your practice does not make you feel better it may be
because your kidneys are so weak you cannot handle any effort. I suggest you to take calm and
restful nourishing methods first, such as: food therapy for nurturing Yang, make sure to get enough
sleep every night and limit your sex or stop sex for awhile until your kidney is in a healthy
condition. When you have no sign of back soreness when you bend from the waist and don't have to
urinate so many times at night, then you can try to practice again. See if it makes any difference.
A practice affects everyone differently. In the same way, how each one responds to the practice will
be different as well. It depends on one's health condition and body's ability whether it can generate
healing energy and repair sick cells quickly or not. Sometimes, you may also want to consider
taking some energy therapy or treatment first, if your ability for recovering grows slower then you
expected.

Hello there Sifu Jenny. I received my DVD and I'm really excited about it. Just a
question though... How long do you recommend doing the Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong pose
for? When I sit in the posture, my arms tend to tense up and I hold the posture very short. What
length of time do you recommend starting off with?
Also, I am curious to know if Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong can help with rejuvenating the
Glandular System?
For the "holding the ball" time, there is no fixed time. It should be held until you begin
moving automatically. It could be less than a minute or you could stay in the initial position for the
whole period. The practice affects and responds to everyone differently. For a beginner, I would
suggest to practice at least 30 to 45 minutes.
If you notice your arms tensing and getting tired, try to relax your body, especially all your joints.
Start from shoulders and move down to your elbows, wrists and fingers. The most important thing
is that you have to relax your mind. Letting go all the thoughts. Movements arise after you empty
yourself. Yin and Yang are co-existent. Moving and stillness are co-existent. Without stillness there
would no moving and without moving there would no stillness. When the still phenomena become
exhausted, the moving phenomena arise and vice versa. So don't worry if you are not moving in the
beginning. Just keep with it. Keep yourself as witness, not affected by the motion and change,
pleasant or unpleasant. Just be aware of whatever happens.
Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong has so many benefits, if it is practiced properly. Remember the
principle of adopting any practice, to keep what benefits you and drop what does not. For all the
benefits it has to wait for each individual to make his or her discovery.

I'm sure i read somewhere that you often get asked what is your level 2 qigong. You
said that most people do not complete level 1 in their whole lives, so do not worry about level 2.
I was just wondering what are the signs of successful completion of level one?

I believe what I said is that level one is all you need. I have not seen a limitation of
level one, so cannot put the word of completion on it. If you mean to ask what is the qualification
for level two? Read my answer for being a ready student. Otherwise, knowing the form of level two
or three is completely meaningless.
Without being ready, one's heart is not opening. There is no way one will be prepared for any
teachings. Great teaching is offering truth. The truth may not be something one wants to hear.
Without humbleness, it's easier for people to embrace self-ego than to take a great opportunity to
diminish it. Recently, my honest answer did not satisfy someone's ego. It made him so angry. It
makes me realize the meaning of what my celestial master said to me, "your tradition will end at
you."

A question for you: For those of us that have shift-work (I sleep during the day and
work 11pm-9am), does your "Time, Channels (Meridians), and Organs' Correspondence Table" still
apply, or does it shift to be in rhythm with our sleeping/waking schedules? Thanks!
The Time, Channels and Organs correspondence table is not my table but the table of
human body correspondences with the universe. For those who have to work and sleep odd hours,
does not mean your body organs action will adopt your sleep pattern spontaneously. Our body has
limits for how long it can endure such upside down life style. To live this way too long can only
exhaust your life force speedily. It is not a healthy way to live.
Look at those sports with energetic physical exertions. The athletes can only participate in them
when they are young. After growing older they have to give it up professionally, otherwise it will
shorten their lives. I suggest that you watch your health closely. If it affects your health rapidly to
the downside, think about changing your job.
As tradition Chinese medicine is based on harmonizing the human body with one's natural element,
which means to flow with the universe, our body has Yin-Yang cycles that reflect the Yin-Yang
cycle of the universe. We cannot change who we are, but we can chose to live our life wisely and
healthily.

I'm a student of Max (kunlun or the spontaneous neigong). Since past 2 months, my
practice kind of introduced you to me. And its been continuous, so i thought of writing to you.
It all started in late august, when i would take up the posture on your site...hands wide apart...and
sitting. This connected me to some higher realm energy...i could feel many masters (or whatever
name is appropriate) and then it was like an introduction to you.
I saw you. Since then, whenever i do just level 1 i.e. spontaneous yi gong...i see you kind of guiding
me (if i understand it correctly).
First of all i thank you for that.
Yesterday the experience moved to a new improvement. The emptiness lasted like forever & then i
kind of lost sense of my body. My consciousness was still there but i hadn't had any body. I was still
there...but i felt like consciousness floating around...without the constraints of our physical body.
Could see emptiness all around...i saw you again then....and then i became you for smtime...soon
my mind realized that m not you...the form changed & i became my wife...and then slowly back to
myself...i became me.
then there were few clicking sounds in my head as if something going on...felt like my third eye
opening (which i have been delaying for quite smtime)...then did lil prayer to gods to give me
wisdom before opening anything so tht i can handle it...clicking died down in smtime....
Afterwards i closed down (left over right hand) for 20mins...but wasnt still back fully...again closed
(right over left) this time..and i was back fast & felt grounded :-)
Are you consciously guiding me Or is it just the lineage energy who guides me taking your form?
It's okay if you feel you shouldn't answer.
Yesterday's experience inspired me to write to you.
Thank you for your email. I would like you to take all the phenomena of your
experience as an illusion. Let go of all the wondering and move on with your practice.

I have some questions that I am hoping you might shed light on for me.
I have been a students of Max's for a few years now. practicing Kunlun regularly. Daily infact for
about two years. what is happening now is that I feel the Kunlun energy almost constantly. I have
been practicing without the posture because it seems to happen anyway. My question is about he
benifit or need to practice for a particular length of time.
I no longer do an hour its more like 15 to 30 minutes at a time. I wonder if ive reached a platue I
mean I feel the sme things mostly and it never realy changes. I dont want to "try to hard" as that
seems to be the oposite of what its about. But I do want to grow and progress....
I did the Facilitator training with Max and am begining to share the practice with others in my
comunity.
any feed back you have would be greatly apreciated.

For any questions regarding Kunlun, I suggest you to go to Max. I do not teach Kunlun
but Yigong. Yigong is aimed at developing awareness. It is a formless form. It should not contain
the same movement all the time. Otherwise you are not making any progress. If you are interested
in an Yigong perspective, you can go to Q & A at http://www.easterninternalarts.com/. There is a lot
of information that can help you to understand what this ancient Yigong practice is all about.

Hello Sifu Jenny, I am really grateful I came across your site. It has been very
informative and enlightening. My question is a bit off topic. I saw in the Q&A section on the site
that as a reply to a post, you said that a good teacher is easy to find but, a ready student is rare.
What do you consider a "ready" student to be? Someone who has experienced intensive training in
the Spiritual Disciplines, or someone who is true to his/herself, is pure of heart and is willing to
move forward on the Spiritual Path as a sort of "calling" in life? I apologize in advance if this
makes no sense and is irrelevant.

Thank you for your inquiry. It is good to see that you are interested in being a ready
student, otherwise you would not ask about it. Being a ready student, means those who are ready
and open to receive a profound teaching. A teaching can change your life definitively. When a
student is not ready for it, the teaching carries no deep and insightful meaning but are just words.
What are the qualities of being a ready student?
1. Pure heart with no self concern, but virtue dominates his or her mind.
2. Devotion and dedication to Self discovery, which leads one from quantitative change to
qualitative change.
3. Determination. One will not give up his or her effort until the destination has been reached.
4. Having been trained in spiritual disciplines.
The first two are the most important among these. Without virtue the pure heart will not arise.
Without devotion and dedication, no effort will be expended. Without determination, thoughts of
quitting and giving up are always like a shadow following you. Without proper training, one does
not know where to start. To be ready, right guidance is absolutely necessary.
It is easy to have a spark in life, but just to have a spark for taking on a spiritual journey is not
enough. Sparks are like a twinkling star, bright but fleeting fast, same as transitory excitement,
bravery and yearnings. If one has no solid foundation for one's spiritual seeking, even the smallest
unsatisfied situation arising will collapse one's world.
To know who you are, what you want and selecting a suitable path is crucial. Many people think
they are spiritual practitioners and know what they want. Ironically, they have no idea what they
really want, because if they pay close attention to what they want, soon they will find out what they
want keeps changing, and their desires are growing faster than they can satisfy them. They think
they are spiritual practitioners by judging their effort of doing their daily meditation or physical
exercises routinely, but they do not understand that self discovery is the result of pervasive effort on
diminishing self-ego, which means practicing letting go is the direction, all day long, 24/7. Letting
go of this individuality is to let go of self-desire, self-power, self-profit and self of everything.
Spirituality is not to gain what you are longing for, riches, fame, power, or knowledge to satisfy
one's ego, and so forth, but to reach the highest attainment one's life can be. That is fully
awakening.
Many people believe that they are ready for training. Commonly they do not know what the training
is about. They are longing for the highest attainment but do not want to let go of the attachment of
self desire. They want all. As a matter of fact, often their actions speak their impurity and not
readiness at all.
How does one know if one is making any progress on one's path? Check whether your personal
needs are getting less; your living style returns to simplicity; your mind has no longer craving on
your habits; your feeling is less extreme; it becomes easy to let go of anything; you enjoy practicing
generosity; you are less judging of others and have the ability to see your own faults; you are honest
to yourself and to others; and most of all that you have less ego.

I have a question relating to my daily practice, I am wondering if you have any words
of advice on how to balance determination in maintaining a daily practice while also being
spontaneous and not becoming to rigid in trying to force a regular practice schedule into a hectic
life schedule?
This has been my greatest challenge lately, finding the will to practice every day while also keeping
up with all the responsibilities of work, family, and home, while not being too hard on myself when
responsibilities take up all 18 waking hours of the day and I cannot practice.

Practice should not be limited to your chair or cushion. Even you have time and can
dedicate yourself an hour a day to your routine practice, you are still one hour against 23 hours a
day. What are the odds for you to accomplish anything? For Yigong practice, the mind training, you
are practicing as you are living. Pay attention to everything that you are doing, be aware of your
thoughts arising and of your decisions and choices. Practicing letting go of your attachment, relax
your body and mind, trying to carry out awareness 24/7 as you live, this should be your goal of true
practice. When you can, you can refresh yourself with spontaneous adjustment Qigong practice
with full self involvement (body and mind), relaxed and no hurry. Otherwise, the forceful routine
with exhausted body and rigid mind will not produce a high quality of practice, which is
meaningless. Your practice should lead you to self-realization.

Sifu Jenny, Why do you never speak of bliss in your Yi Gong seminars?

I did not mention bliss because I do not want to encourage or mislead people to take a
momentary pleasant phenomena or experience as the goal of one's practice. The essence of Yi Gong
is to develop awareness. Without awareness, it is not Yi Gong. Bliss is a side effect of the practice.
There is no reason to attach to a momentary happiness and make that your goal. It is best not to
attach to any momentary phenomena whether pleasant or unpleasant. Experience comes and
experience goes. People should have a higher goal for their practice. Let developing wisdom be
one's primary focal point.

Thanks Sifu Jenny. In terms of Buddhist practices, would you term Yi Jong as leading
to Shamata or Vipassana or more of a cleansing technique? Do you also advise a
Shamata/Vipassana kind of routine with Yi Gong?

The first level of Yi gong has three main aspects: Purification, Developing awareness
and Teaching. It purifies one's body and mind or, as you put it, has a cleansing role. It develops
awareness and for that aspect it is similar to Shamata or Vipassana. It is a teaching tool, because it is
a formless form and is always manifesting according one's stage of body, mind and spirit
development. It gives you knowledge of the function of each movement.
You could, if you want. You can combine your Yi Gong practice with your daily meditation,
whether it is Shamata or Vipassana.
Many people on Taobums have been practicing from the book alone. I was going to
write this there but would like to make sure it is ok with you first. Please let me know if you would
like to say anything else or correct what I have written. There is a thread talking about showing the
spontanous practice or what may happen afterwards. And I wanted people on Taobums to be clear
about your thoughts on this.

Thank you for your kindness and wanting to share your thoughts with others on Kunlun
practice in the Taobums forum. I do not have time to get involved with people's discussion on
Kunlun practice. I've only taught Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong to a very limited group of
people, which is now worldwide known as Kunlun practice level one. If I am wrong, please correct
me.
I shared my knowledge and experience with those who came to me for knowledge. I did not write a
book about this practice. As you asked about whether people should just learn the practice from the
book of Kunlun, I sincerely suggested that those who are interested in learning Kunlun practice, go
to Max, who wrote the book. I do not suggest that people starting Kunlun practice from the
beginning use the book alone. The reason is simple, as a beginner you need a proper guide. A good
teacher can benefit you in many ways, such as clear your doubts, answer your questions, correct
your movements, and so forth.
Each individual is different. A good doctor will not prescribe the same medicine for all of his or her
patients, no matter how good the medicine is. I cannot urge anyone enough to consult with your
teacher, whoever taught you, whether in person or the book. Kunlun practice is a formless form,
itself evolving. Letting an experienced teacher guide you is necessary. It can help you to reach your
goal of self-healing, self-discovery and self-realization faster. You do not need to rely on your
teacher all the time. It is your own journey. A teacher can merely point a direction. The path is
yours. It is under your own feet. Only you can make a difference. Good luck with the practice.

I really don't consider Spontaneous gong useful (for me, I learned from another teacher)
and I've never received any results from it but I'd like to hear more from Jenny. Does she teach
anything else?

Spontaneous Adjustment Qigong is not for everyone. Especially, one should not expect
an instant spontaneous miracle. It may happen to others but may not happen to you. Holding high
expectations and competing with the results of others is not a good way to go. Sometimes it
becomes an obstacle for you. On the other hand, a pre-existing judgmental mind can only block
one's ability to manifest one's own natural healing and receiving benefits from it. Take your time, be
patient, open yourself up to it if you want to give it a chance. An insight experience will lead you to
a deep understanding. There is a reason why the highest practices are not commonly accessible. It is
not merely because it is held in secret but rather it is not the right person to receive it. The right
teaching or practice, right time and space, right mind, right effort, and right connection between
teacher and student inevitable affects one's path and attainment. A proper guide is incredibly
important, but it is one's own responsibility and choice whether one wants to open up to it and has
the ability to digest it. Readiness holds the key for any practice or path. Merely judging by
appearances may fool you.
I teach many different techniques and practices as well, but fundamentally speaking, it is for sharing
my understanding with those who are serious for their practice and to help them to get ready for
finding their own path.

Does Jenny say (like Max) not to combine Kunlun with other
energetic/kundalini/upward flowing practices? I don't mean practiced one after the other but more
like one in the morning and one in the evening?

For any higher level of spiritual or energy practice, such as Yi gong (or you may call it
Kunlun), it is its own complete system, designed to achieve its highest attainment. There is no
reason one should mix it with others, especially when one is not knowledgeable. More methods
don't mean a faster result. If you believe this practice does not suit you, find one that does and stick
with it. Generally speaking, if you throughly understand one you will understand all.
Different systems of energetic practice sometimes may conflict with each other, because the goal
and the design to reach the goal are different, just as different herbs have healing power but can
cancel each other out if using them at the same time. You do not want to see one practice cancel
another.
My suggestion is, if one finds a practice that one is comfortable with, has faith in and has a good
teacher to guide one, that practice should be one's best choice to stick with it. Window shopping in
spiritual or healing practices is fashionable today. However, just because there is more accessibility
to any practice does not make one know more. Direct experience is the result of perseverance. To
stick with one system is a wise choice. A good system, one door should open all doors. No need to
waste time going back and forth. For beginners, if one wants to combine common practices into
your main practice, such as stretching, opening channels, yoga, martial arts and so forth, it could be
very helpful, in fact, to improve your main practice. The basic rule to follow is, if your practice
causes you harm you should stop it right away and consult someone with more knowledge. A good
practice should lead one to a healthy body and wise mind. It improves one's life in positive ways,
not the opposite.
How do these teachings relate to the red phoenix practices?

Yi gong is not related to the red phoenix practice.

Thanks for all the posts on the development of this school of philosphy.
I still would like to understand what it means when Chinese President Hu Jintao exchanges
formalities with Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou.

I have no idea.

Does Jenny give you a transmission, and is there a lineage of Masters with Yi gong?

Yi gong has a lineage of masters and a history. It is not my decision to reveal them.
When the time is right it will come out.
I do not give any transmission as most people think of it, as a transmission of supernatural power or
power to permit you to practice. If there is a transmission from me, it is unconditionally offered to
those who are willing to take it, and is transferred through my teaching. That is, to believe in
oneself. Everyone has natural power to heal and wisdom to manifest. The problem is people do not
commonly trust or have faith in their self, or have ability to access it. The blockage is a door only
you can open, if you know how and believe that you can. If you don't know how, but believe you
can, you will find a way by being a good listener, a good observer, and a good actor who takes
action on their beliefs.
The power that is not yours will not last. What can be given, can also be taken away. Hence, to rely
on oneself is better than to rely on others. Therefore, a wise one tries to understand about oneself.
There are many ways to do that. For instance, there is outer and inner access. One can try to
understand oneself through understanding the universe, since the micro (human) cosmic is the
epitome of the macro (universe) cosmic. By observing the universe one sees the natural law that
corresponds with oneself, so that one knows how to live one's life accordingly. Or one can deepen
into insight meditation, in order to understand who am I, what am I. Traditional Chinese medicine
has collected lots of knowledge of natural phenomena, which can help one to know oneself better, if
that is what you want. These traditional healing methods are more earth grounding.
Looking for celestial masters or beings to come to teach you is harder than winning a lottery. It is
not very practical if you put all your stakes in it. You can try, but don't be attached. Otherwise you
will be heartbroken. If there are celestial masters to teach, its unlikely that you can choose them,
but they will decide who to choose. Ask yourself, do you have the qualities of determination,
dedication and a pure heart?
Your discovery more likely comes from most unexpected ways. If one pays attention to one's daily
life closely, one may be surprised that teachings are actually pervading in everything and
everywhere. They are waiting for you to discover them. A startling story may attract attention but
only what benefits you is what counts and will be everlasting.

I have read here (on Tao Bums and in reference to Kunlun) that traditionally a master
whispered instructions for this practice through a bamboo shaft to students, and the students where
then sent off for seven years to practice it alone Does Yi gong require guidance from a master? I
heard Jenny has been busy with school and writing a book, will Jenny be available to provide
guidance, or answer any questions if needed?

I will not comment on anything that does not come from me. Proper guidance is always
good for any Qigong practice, especially when it has a complete system. I will provide sufficient
knowledge to support my teaching. My teaching emphasizes the knowledge of Chinese medicine,
philosophy, healing, providing proper guidance for practice and answering any questions related to
my teaching.

Will Jenny detail all levels of Yi gong in her book? Will she be teaching Level II and
Level III in the future as well? With Kunlun I heard that you can move onto the different levels after
6 months of practice so, in two years Ill have completed all three levels. Do I need to attend
another workshop for each level, or will my body naturally move onto the different levels without
instruction?

A fixation on anything is not good, because it is rigid and does not correspond with the
individual situation. Our world of duality is based on individuals and their network with everything
else. There is no fixed time that a person should practice each level. How one develops is unique to
each individual and depends on their nature, determination, etc. Someone may be ready for the next
level in a few months and another may take years or never be ready. Rushing to all levels does not
help ones practice or knowledge. On the contrary, it may limit one to explore the true value of each
level.
People who have truly learned all levels will not ask me such questions. They should have a
sufficient knowledge and deep insight of their practice.
I will teach the next level when the time is right and people are ready. To know a practice by form
alone does not mean anything.
I will discuss whats in the book when it is complete.

Generally how does the releasing process work with her practice? Will I be seeing and
hearing things and be unable to distinguish what is real and what isnt? Does Jenny provide any
information at the workshop about this or about how to best handle this part of it? Is this practice
safe for everyone?

Yi gong practice strengthens me both physically and mentally. It gives me the ability to
explore myself.
Yi gong practice makes one healthier and wiser and able to see thing clearly, not more dull.
Yi gong is not for everyone. I will not suggest that those who have psychiatric issues practice Yi
gong. Whether the spontaneous adjustment Qi gong practice is safe, I have never heard of any of
my students reporting any side effects, but only benefiting from it.
Seeing and hearing things is not the goal of practice and can be distracting. Let it go.

It has been mentioned that this workshop will be a pre-requisite for future retreats. How
long will these retreats be? Where will they be held, will it all be taught by Jenny, and what can I
expect to learn there?

As for the retreats, this will only be an opportunity for those serious practitioners who
have studied with me and want to take their studies further. It will be an intensive training with
many aspects. I am not looking for crowds, so these retreats will not be opened to the general
public. Attendance is by invitation only.

What are the benefits of practicing Yi gong?

Yi gong is for self-healing and self-awakening. As for its benefits, let the practice reveal
it to you.

A question came up recently on Tao Bums about doing Yi Gong. The way most people
have learned the practice is to be barefoot and on a sheepskin or deerskin rug. But I remember the
way you practices at your seminar was with shoes on.
Is there any benefit to practicing without shoes? Or does it not matter either way. If you wear shoes
should they be kung fu slippers?

It is a good question. As a matter of fact, barefoot practice Yigong is good. Not only
that, general speaking, it is good for any Qigong practice. If you can, barefoot walking at home is
also good for you. It connects your body with the earth and also under your foot there are many
channels and acupoints which reflects one's organs. Intentionally walking on certain spots or certain
ways would improve one's health gradually.
At our seminar, I didn't request everyone do that because it was winter. I am not sure how
comfortable everyone would be with that. However, Yigong practice spontaneously moves the
whole body, stimulating all channels. It is not so crucial to have to practice barefoot. But if you
wear shoes, thin and soft bottom and tops is the best choice. Not necessary that it has to be kung fu
slippers. Wear whatever you feel comfortable with. I prefer Aasics wrestling shoes. Those are my
kung fu shoes.

Are we permitted to teach spontaneous qigong?

Choosing to teach anything is one's own decision and choice, but to be a qualified
teacher with the lineage is a different issue. I have only taught physical aspects of Yi gong to limited
people, not the spiritual aspects (to anyone), which is the most important for the lineage. Kunlun
spreading worldwide was Max's choice. Since he is training instructors with his knowledge, I don't
want to interfere. I teach Yi gong, not Kunlun. If you want to teach the Spontaneous Qigong, that is
your choice. If you want me to certify you, I do not easily give certification to anyone. That is
because I take my responsibility not lightly. A qualification indicates intensive training, knowledge
of many aspects and understanding of one's responsibility in the world.
I hope that I answered your questions and didn't leave you too disappointed. I will always support
those who dedicate their lives to search for truth and to help others.

I have a question about the relationship between Non duality and Qi gong healing. I do
a form of Healing called Bio Energy, basically combing the persons electromagnetic field of
stagnations and removing them outside of the immediate field. At times the affect can be profound
on a persons health.
I am an acupuncturist, practice Qi gong with an interest in the Chinese Taoist classics. I see direct
path teachings (Advaita, Zen, Dzogchen) as pointers of the absolute truth, and I invest much time in
these simple profound teachings. I came across you on the internet as someone who might be able
to help me understand the relationship between Qi gong Healing and Advaita.

Advaita is non-duality. Anything that you can think of is duality, so is Qigong. Non-
duality is indescribable, inexpressible and unthinkable. There is no reference point. Therefore, the
Buddha can only point the direction to those who are seeking enlightenment but cannot show them
enlightenment, because full enlightenment is non-duality. It is a goal of Zen or Dzogchen, but it is
not something that a Zen or Dzogchen practitioner can hold onto. Anything that one can hold onto is
not Non-duality.
Qigong, generally speaking, is for healing. There is subject, the healer, and object whom to be
healed, and a method used to heal. Therefore, it is not non-dual. From an absolute point of view,
there is no method that is non-dual. However, any method can lead to non-duality, if you know how.
Some methods may be better than others but it purely depends on an individual.
To understand the non-dual can be very beneficial to who studies and practices Qigong. Because
those who are less attached to oneself, have more access to the cosmos. The more you understand
the universe, the more you understand yourself. The more you understand yourself, the more power
to heal. A good Qigong practitioner will not only limit oneself to the physical aspects but spiritual as
well. They are compliments to each other. The highest Taoist practice should be towards the
direction of non-duality, so to speak.
Your question is not something that can be explained in a few words, if you do not have much
knowledge about what is non-duality. I can recommend a few books for you to read if you are
interested in Non-duality.
1. Vedanta, Heart of Hinduism, by Hans Torwesten
2. The Center of the Sunlit Sky, by Karl Brunnholzl
3. I Am That, by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
My answer is merely a pointer and hopefully it will lead you in the direction of your research and of
what you are seeking.

Thank you so much for your reply, and the book reading suggestions, its very kind of
you. I have read quite extensively on Some of the great Advaita authors, and so am familiar. Can I
ask you, Is Lao Tsu's 'Dao De Jing' essentially pointing at, or talking about non duality in its own
unique way? Or particularly the first paragraph 'The way that can be explained or said is not the
way'. Or are there sources in Chinese culture, Taoist or otherwise that recognise or point to the same
'oneness' in their own way?

Yes, the first paragraph of the Dao De Jing "Tao can be talked about, but not the Eternal
Tao. Names can be named, but not the Eternal Name" is a Chinese perspective on Oneness. In short,
Wu Wei (non-action) is the highest state of Taoism. One can say it is a Taoist interpretation of non-
dualistic wisdom. Letting go is the key for all practice to lead in that direction. As soon as you
understand what Advaita means, don't waste your time on analyzing.

I heard from other Tao Bums that Jenny is a Buddhist, and I've heard various accounts
of Yi Gong being an amazing practice. A year or two back, I tried Kunlun, learning from the book,
and it didn't amount to much. I was seeking experiences and couldn't let go. Now I just do stillness
meditation and am beginning to learn taijichuan chen style, and am curious again about spontaneous
qi gong. The reasons being that I hear its great for health, energy, and purifies the body and mind.
What I wanted to ask though, was how this practice relates to the goal of Buddhism, as far as I
know, no Buddhist teachers have ever used Spontaneous Qi Gong. the only Buddhist tradition that I
know of that uses energy are the Tibetans. they are very secretive though :)

Yi Gong is one of the highest Taoist practices, not a Buddhist practice. It wasn't known
until recently by the public. I'm a Buddhist but I learned and practiced in the Taoist tradition before
I became a Buddhist. Teaching self-healing is my profession. I always like to share my knowledge
with those who can benefit from it. To maintain one's health in this world does not conflict with
Buddhism, although it is not the goal of Buddhism. Don't be caught by appearances. There are
different paths or different approaches for different people. The important thing is not to mistake a
tool as the goal.
Starting Yi Gong with a book alone is not a good way to go. You need a teacher to help you. Find a
teacher that suits you and you feel comfortable with.
Just one additional comment, Enlightenment is not an experience. I suggest that you read "I Am
That" by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

I have some questions about the practice that you teach. I'm Buddhist, took refuge with
a Tibetan Kagyu teacher but am non-sectarian. I've heard a lot about the Yi Gong practice that you
teach from some Taoist practitioners, but am not familiar with any Buddhists that practice it. The
Taoists tell me that its very good at purifying the body, expelling disease and sickness, and bringing
peace of mind and clarity in thinking. This seems very wonderful. I don't know any Buddhist
practices that works the way Yi Gong does... Tibetans work with energy but mainly through
visualization not through shaking. Anyway my main question is this, for someone on the Buddhist
path to enlightenment.. realizing your true nature for the sake of all beings.. is Yi Gong beneficial?
Is it a method that leads to enlightenment? Or are the benefits just on the physical bodies health? I
know that you market the seminars for people interested in health benefits but for someone
interested in enlightenment what can you say about the Yi Gong practice? What is its "spiritual"
benefit in Buddhist, not Taoist, terms (not too familiar with Taoist goals)
Enlightenment is enlightenment. It has no differentiation for religion. "A person is what
his deep desire is. It is our deepest desire in this life that shapes the life to come. So let us direct our
deepest desires to realize the Self." (the Upanishads)

As for Enlightenment, it really doesn't matter that much whether you practice Buddhism or Taoism
or Hinduism or Judaism or just simply live your life with awareness. It is your intention and your
effort toward reaching your goal that matters. I am a Buddhist. To realize the Self or Enlightenment
is more important to me than a Ph.D or any other titles. However, a true practitioner understands
Enlightenment does not come from a cushion or any particular method, but to let go of all your
attachments. As the true emptiness is to empty emptiness itself. To go, go beyond one's mind ......
As a matter of fact, any practice can help you to get Enlightened, including Yigong, if you know
how. I was a Taoist practitioner before I became a Buddhist. As a Buddhist, I understand more about
non-differentiation. I still practice Yigong and teach Yigong because it benefits me and other people
on many levels, both body and mind. Its potentiality is far beyond most people's understanding. I
teach the physical aspect because most people are concerned with their health. Enlightenment is not
the body, nor the mind, nor not the body nor not the mind. You can not separate mind from your
body, as the Buddha finally realized the middle path before he reached Enlightenment. Don't let a
name or a form fool you.

I was wondering if you teach the methodology of Taoist internal alchemy. I am

determined to learn an effective process to convert the jing to chi to shen. I have made attempts
using different practices but have found that the sexual energy is too powerful for me to harness and
I end up succumbing to my primal desires

Taoist internal alchemy, as you put it, or the four stages of Taoist Neidan practice are
Zhu ji (or establish foundation), convert the Jing to Qi, convert the Qi to Shen, and return the Shen
to its origin (or unify the Shen to the great void). The goal is not that simple to achieve as people
think. It is not a set of mechanical steps as the Western mind commonly puts it. Most people neither
care about establishing a foundation nor know the meaning of the last step of returning the Shen to
its origin. I teach what suits people's condition.
I don't consider myself anything special, or have any special achievement, but I like to share my
knowledge with those that have common interests. Of course, it has to fit them. These days a good
teacher is not difficult to find but a ready student is rare.

Someone told me that I should pick either Tibetan or Yi Gong and not do both.
According to him, the energies are different. Tibetan is Kundalini and Yi Gong has a different
energy, so doing both can be dangerous. I'm not sure what to think about this because I'm not very
experienced. You told me in the seminar that Yi Gong is Kundalini, but maybe you said that
publicly because people really like the word kundalini, but maybe in reality things are more
complex? Please offer me some advice about this because I was going to continue practicing Yi
Gong while also doing Tibetan practices and learning some Tibetan Yogas such as Yantra Yoga
(Trulkhor). Thank you :)

Neither Tibetan, nor Yi Gong is Kundalini. Otherwise they would be called Kundalini.
"Kundalini literally means coiled. In Indian yoga, a 'corporeal energy' - an unconscious, instinctive
or libidinal force or Shakti, lies coiled at the base of the spine (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kundalini, accessed 3/19/10)." Some refer its phenomena to pranic
awakening. Prana is the vital energy or life force or Jing Qi in Chinese. It can be seen as an energy
that works at one's spine in a spiral course. Nevertheless, a human body is a human body, regardless
of nationality or religion, humans have the same type of body. The potentialities are the same. The
question is how to develop it, which leads to whatever works for you. It has no fixed type. The
different cultures or religions may use different language or vocabularies to describe a path to reach
the ultimate goal of awakening, don't let words confuse you.
Yigong is a system of Taoist practices. Its physical aspects include three levels, the spontaneous
adjustment, celestial master points the way, and great water fall. At the seminar, I taught the
spontaneous adjustment Qigong. The spontaneous adjustment Qigong is a formless form. You asked
me if the spontaneous Qigong is Kundalini. I told you that spontaneous adjustment Qigong does
develop Kundalini. I did not say Yigong is Kundalini. Through my practice, I notice myself. I am
sure many others who practice spontaneous qigong might have similar experiences that sometimes
our body appears to do a lot of rotating movement like a spiral, the energy from the base of spine
coiled up like a snake moving out of your Bai-hui or crow chakra. That spontaneous adjustment
Qigong can develop Kundalini does not mean it is Kundalini. Since it is a formless form, whatever
the movements appears is a response to the state of the body and mind. To some degree, it might not
happen to someone yet or may never happen to some, it does not mean it cannot develop Kundalini
or it is only for developing Kundalini. A formless form has no fixation. Everything is possible. Do
not be rigid, holding onto anything that might happen or not happen. Experience yourself with an
open mind. Don't hold onto any thoughts or long for anything to happen when you practice.
Thoughts are obstacles to your attainment.
The same with Tibetan Buddhist practice. Some techniques do develop Kundalini, such as powa
practice, but some do not, for instance the Bodhisattva's path. If one defines Tibetan Buddhism as
Kundalini, it's as if to declare one technique to be the whole of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. That
is a big mistake. Don't take a method to be the goal.
As for mixing practices, please take a look at the similar question above where I have answered
regarding practicing different systems.
Your bio says you went from a practicing Taoist to practicing Dzogen Buddhism. If it is
to personal, I apologize, but I was wondering what your reasons were, and what differences
attracted you to change.

I began my spiritual journey with Taoist practice mainly through Qigong practice,
because most of my teachers were Taoist. I began to know about Buddhism also because one of my
Qigong teachers that I encountered is a retired Buddhist monk. He is very educated and very
knowledgeable in Chinese culture. He taught me Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, Chinese
medicine, Martial Arts, the Art of war, Chinese poems, and so forth. The first thing that I learned
from him about Buddhism is the Heart sutra, which is the core of Buddhism. It affected me deeply.
Wisdom and compassion are the main reasons that drove me into Buddhism. However, my spiritual
path today is very different than it was before.

Regarding the Spiritual Side of Kun Lun, you said it has not been revealed publicly. Is
it something that may come to one when one is ready just by doing the normal practice without any
special instruction.

I teach Yi Gong not Kunlun. The spiritual aspect of Yi gong is more regarding
manifestation. It needs to be taught. It's unlikely that it will ever be revealed to the public.

I am hoping that these practices will help, but aside from my health, ...... In essence, I
may not have enough income to live. From your experience, are you aware of any prayers to help
one to die consciously for a smooth transition to the after life? Hopefully it will not be needed for
some time, but would like to be prepared.

Better than any mantra for this life or future lives is to keep your heart in a pure state.
Desire and fear are pollution. Accept whatever comes to you, but don't be lazy. Remember, you are
not this body and you are not this mind.

Can you describe more fully what Yi Gong means? I know you said mind training. Isn't
there something like wisdom essence with the word Yi? Just wondering if you can elaborate further
for more description I know we cannot always accurately translate the Chinese into English.
Yi Gong is one of the highest Taoist Maoshan esoteric practices. Its system includes
two aspects, spiritual and physical. The spiritual aspects have not been revealed to the public. The
physical aspects include three levels, spontaneous adjustment, celestial master points the way, and
great water fall.
Yi is mind. Gong is work, skill, method, effort, efficacy, and achievement. Yi Gong is mind training.
It is techniques for awareness development. Through skillful techniques and cultivation of one's
mind, one is capable of reaching self-awakening. Self-healing or the appearance of supernatural
powers are side-effects along with the body's and mind's awakening. They are not the ultimate goal
for Yi Gong. Nevertheless, training one's mind is a path to self-awakening. Yi Gong is a process of
studying, practicing and harvesting. Realization is the result of that cultivation and self-awakening.
Words cannot convey the knowing, the cognition, Gnosis or praj. For those who want to know,
they must do their diligent practice. There is no other way.
Awareness is the core of Yi Gong practice. Practicing Yi Gong without awareness is not Yi Gong. If
you learn the practice and do not develop your awareness, you have lost the essence of Yi Gong.

From your website Q/A "Choosing to teach anything is one's own decision and choice,
but to be a qualified teacher with the lineage is a different issue. I have only taught physical aspects
of Yi gong to limited people, not the spiritual aspects (to anyone), which is the... most important for
the lineage." Could you please explain what you mean by that spiritual aspects are the most
important for the lineage.

In general, Taoist schools emphasize a unification of heaven, earth and the human
realm. Each school contains a cosmology and knowledge of the relationship between macrocosm
and microcosm. Chinese alchemy, astrology, feng shui, exorcisms, healing, Chinese traditional
medicine, awareness development, food therapy, longevity, and so forth are all subjects of Taoist
study. Each school has its own focal point. The Maoshan school (Yigong belongs to the Maoshan
school) is the most mysterious, esoteric practice amongst all Taoist schools.
The spiritual aspect of Yigong is important to include when explaining a complete system of this
lineage. It plays a very significant roll in distinguishing this lineage from other Taoist schools, but
knowledge of the spiritual aspect is not necessary to achieve enlightenment. "Spiritual" may not be
the proper word to use here. I reluctantly use the word "spiritual" to differentiate the physical aspect
of practice, which I teach, from the the other aspects that involve Ling Jie (the spirit world).
In short, the spiritual aspect of Yigong is the esoteric practice, related with manifestation. Those
manifestations are phenomena caused by a methodology that describes certain actions of body,
mind and spirit, in relation to time and space. A particular activity will cause a precise outcome.
Such knowledge becomes a key that can open up the mysterious door of the matrix of the universe.
That the spiritual aspect of Yigong is important to distinguish this lineage from others, does not
mean that the physical aspect is not spiritual, or imperfect, or that level one is lower than level two
or that level two is lower than level three. Each level has its own aim. For most people, the physical
aspect of Yigong level one is all one needs. It enhances one's health and develops one's wisdom. I
am still practicing level one and love to practice level one, because the Spontaneous Adjustment
Qigong continuously illuminates me.
Many people have shown their interest in studying the spiritual aspect of Yigong and some have
voiced their concern about missing the spiritual aspect of Yigong, whether it will affect their
attainment on their spiritual quest. Remember, you do not need the ability to manifest anything in
order to get enlightened. It is your goal that shapes your path, not the lineage. To know your goal
and persistently make an effort to achieve your goal is crucial. The essence of Yigong is to develop
awareness. Awareness leads to awakening. It is contained in every part of the Yigong system,
whether physical or spiritual.
To study the full system of Yigong requires the practitioner to possess a pure heart and great virtue.
Perseverance, dedication and devotion to your practice are fundamental attributes. Respecting the
lineage and one's teacher opens up the door to the essence of the true teaching. Calculations on gain
and loss are on the opposite path. Arrogance and disrespect of the lineage of your study is self-
destruction. Longing for power and fame drives people insane and is forbidden for true spiritual
development. From the Yigong esoteric perspective, any action based on a selfish reason not only
will harm oneself, but also could cause a disturbance to nature. That is not the purpose for any
system to be developed. That is why the esoteric teaching is not for the public.
On a spiritual path, we should all have a higher goal for our life, to be Wu Wei and Wu Suo Bu
Wei . Wu Wei (non-action) is the highest state of Taoist practice. Wu Wei does
not mean doing nothing or being lazy, but holding no expectation and being detached from any
reference point while one cultivates body, speech and mind constantly. In that way, it brings the true
manifestation of Wu Suo Bu Wei (nothing cannot be done) into existence. That is the true path of
the Tao.
