Reflection on MST Observation Feedback (1)

Reflection on MSTs Observation Feedback

My first lesson that I taught observed by my MST Jincy Joseph on 27 February

2017 which was about Rocks Properties. I taught grade two section, B students.

Besides, my MST Jincy and I went through my lesson weakness and strengths into

these following points:

o My Strength

Regarding my strength, I used sorting things activity based on the current things

that they have in common. As we discussed with my MST, it was such an excellent

introduction to the topic. I noticed that they understand the concept and purpose

of sorting things which were one of my lesson objectives. I created point cards for

each student for the individual and group participation to make them in my control

during a lesson. As we observed, my management system worked well with them,

and they challenged themselves to be the star student. Consequently, I reward

super students at the beginning of the session not only high-level students also

who behaved well during last class. Personally, I think that this is fair

reinforcement for students because that gives all students level to be part of the

encouragement system.

Moreover, I created group activity using the timer which is going well. My MST

mentioned that my group activity was a good example to implanting cooperative

learning. Besides that, students participated actively with me during a group

activity.

Furthermore, I was well-prepared and well-equipped which helped me to start and

conclude the lesson in the proper time.


o Weakness and area needs development

Concerning areas that need developments, I did a review part at the beginning of

the lesson to recall students prior knowledge, and some of the werent able to

answer the question. To be honest, it was literary very basic and very easy question

such as what are rocks types that we have. They had this lesson at the begging

of the unit, whereas my MST suggest for me to simplify the question for them if

they didnt get it. For instance, I can ask them what do you know about rocks

instead of the direct question.

As its the first lesson I was nervous and I forgot to bring the rock from the

second floor-chemistry lap. Thats effect negatively on my lesson because I used

more time than I planned to explain the detention of each property to make it

visible and clear for them.

o Recommendations for next class

My MST and I agreed on one recommendation which is planning and prepared

different kinds of question which could match whit each students abilities.
