Reflection on MSTs Observation Feedback

My first lesson that I taught observed by my MST Jincy Joseph on 6 March 2017

which was about Rocks Properties and Rock Types. I taught grade two section, B

students. Besides, my MST Jincy and I went through my lesson weakness and

strengths into these following points:

o My Strength

In the engage stage I start with Dora cartoon character to attract my students

attention. My MST mentioned that using the interesting character as an introduction

to the new concept was a great idea and I noticed that from my students interaction.

Another thing is that I showed an excellent classs discipline using different kinds

of management strategies. I totally agree with Ms. Jincy because I readily observed

that students followed my interaction and they did their best to gain positive points

for their performance card. Moreover, I displayed through data show a timer for

the student when they are doing group working to give them a specific time to

accomplish the task. From my observation, I saw that worked well with them and

kept them in control without wasting time. Furthermore, I focused in this lesson to

ask students proper questions that enhance their thinking and give them the

opportunity to share their thoughts with the whole class. From my teachers

perspective, the individual work motivated them to do something my themselves. I

agree with her, students were so active, and their participation progress increased

during last part.


o Weakness and area needs development

The only area that needs from me more attention and improving is the pronunciation

of some compound words because naturally, students will imitate my pronunciation.

o Recommendations for next class

For my next lesson, I will use UK dictionary which is supported with the audio option

to listen to pronunciation of difficult words and prepare well for the lesson.
