Strengths:
Lesson plan sent early
Starting by playing a game with the students
Showing interest in students answers
Making use of smiles to prompt students to answer
Voting to guess the title of the lesson
Providing oral positive feedback
Telling a story and making sure to compete the cycle on the whiteboard
Drilling group by group
Calling out names of the talkative students
Moving around the class while telling the story
Prompting the students by pointing to the key vocabulary terms to choose from
Displaying the positive behavior to the students
Giving out points for the good answers
Taking the papers from the students because he was not paying attention
Drilling the vocabulary and reflecting at the end on the cycle

The lesson stages are clear and moving smoothly but that must be reflected in the
lesson plan

Suggestions:
Try to stay in a position were all students can see you
The lesson plan is a bit confusing, be specific in the procedure
Use a specific tense in the lesson plan
Language errors, using different tenses in the same talk
Pronunciation error (volcanic eruption, heating not hitting)
Nervous and confused sometimes
Ask more prediction questions and allow the students to talk and predict
Some students were not listening to you
Avoid giving your back to the students while focusing only on the cycle
The size of the words in the cycle were not clear to those sitting at the back
Give points to the groups that drilled well
Calm down when the students are trying desperately to answer
Yaseen pronounced the word volcanic eruption correctly
While giving the instructions, you named Abdullah and he felt bad about it.
Generalize your instructions
Model the activity to the students and ask them to repeat your instructions when
labeling the cycle
The stages in the lesson plan must be more specific and concise
Some students were stuck, you need to elicit them to help answering the worksheet
While checking the worksheets, avoid giving your back to the students some of
them were still cheating
MST is not in the class
Make sure to model the correct writing on the board (igneous Rock)
Give the students chance to copy and correct the answers
In the next lesson:
I will try to encourage Abdulla by giving him opportunity to participate

 Reflection on MSTs Observation Feedback
My first observation that I taught observed by my MCT Fatema Alawadi

on 8 March 2017 which was about Rock Cycle. I taught grade two section,

E students. Besides, my MCT Fatema Alawadi and I went through my lesson

weakness and strengths into these following points:

o My Strength

I started my lesson by playing a dice game to review their prior knowledge

which an excellent method to make the students feel engage. I noticed that

they became energetic after playing this game and they were so much

excited to start the new lesson. To be honest that impact positively on me,

I tried to show interest in students answer by giving them oral positive

feedback and making use of smiles to prompt students to answer.

According to our discussion, I promote some management strategies in

terms to manage the class such as calling out names of the talkative

students, giving out points for the right answers and Praising the groups

with the best answers and good behavior. Besides, once in noticed that

they are some misbehaving actions I used eye contact technique and I

asked one student to act how good student should behave in the classroom

while the teacher was talking. I recognized that all of the learners paid

attention with his classmate explaining and all of them got the idea of

displaying positive behavior. Another point is that my conclusion for the

lesson, I did a quick discussion to check students understanding by using

the individual worksheet and I reward the best student who participated

well during the last session.

 o Weakness and area needs development

My MCT suggested for to stay in a position where all students can see me

because some of the students werent listening to me. Moreover, I realized

at the end of the lesson that I made some language errors specifically in

grammar by using different tense in the same sentence which made a

student feel confused slightly. As far as, I also understand that I have to

give students more time to copy the answer from the board which for sure

should be considering in the lesson plan.

o Recommendations for next class

For the next lesson, I will try to generalize my instructions and model the

activity for the whole class before starting to make it easy for them.
