The purpose of the Competition is to introduce high school students of color to oral and written advocacy and to provide an opportunity to compete for scholarships, Denny's Corporation serves 2s our Regional Corporate Sponsor. Students from throughout Region IV (consisting of Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia) are expected fo participate in this Competition. “Tho Competition consists of two parts: an essay writing contest and an oral competition. Firs, students must write an essey on a soleoted topic opining what Dr. King’s stance would be if he were alive today. Essays for the competition are due April 30, 2017. The oral patt of the Regional Competition will be held at Denny’s Corporation, 203 B Main Street, Spartanburg, ‘SC 29319 on Saturday May 27, 2017. The vyeinner will receive minirmam of a $1000 scholarship.
