UPCOMING SCHOOL CLOSURES

Catalina Elementary will be closed on the following dates for staff members to
participate in Professional Development Sessions;
Friday, April 7, 2017 - all day
Tuesday, April 25, 2017 - afternoon session (students will be dismissed at
11:30 a.m.)
Thursday, May 4, 2017 - after noon session (students will be dismissed at
11:30 a.m.)
Friday, May 19, 2017 all day

PARKING ( MORNING DROP OFF AND AFTERNOON PICK UP)

When dropping off students in the morning or picking them up in the

afternoon at the main entrance, it is very important that enough space be
left for the buses and other traffic to easily go around the school. Double
parking is not permitted at the front of the school.

ATTENDANCE

Parents and Guardians are reminded that it is important for

students to attend school on a regular basis. Students should only
be absent from school for medical reasons or emergencies.

STAND UP DAY
Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Program
Breakfast will not be served on the first On Wednesday, February 22nd,
week back after Easter Holidays. The staff and students participated in
Breakfast Program will begin again on Stand Up Day 2017. The
Monday, May 1st. activities throughout the day helped
our students understand the
importance of staying bully free.

Lunch Warm-Ups

A reminder that students are not permitted to bring items that need to be cooked
for lunch warm-ups. Items such as Kraft Dinner cups, Michelina dinners, T.V.
dinners and any other food that is not already cooked requires too much time to
be heated. If these items are sent, parents may be contacted to provide another
lunch for their child. In addition, all foods such as mini pizzas, hot dogs, and
chicken nuggets need to be cooked in advance.
