This aims to increase the awareness of every Filipino on natural and man-made hazards for a better appreciation of the government's disaster preparedness programs. The contest is open to all Filipino government employees holding permanent positions except officers and staff of OCD Public Affairs Office. The NDRRME, through the Office of Civil Defense, is conducting a theme writing contest on the 2017 theme for the observance of NDCM. The contest is open to all governmant employees holding permanent positions. In line with this, all Departments, Bureaus and Agencies under the NORRMC are hereby directed to campaign for enties among your respective employees. Attached is the contest mechnics. OCD (8) Stee femal spennginmccevat Webs yoew dna gow REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES NATIONAL DISASTER CONSCIOUSNESS MONTH 2017 THEME-WRITING CONTEST MECHANICS DURATION: Office of Civil Defense (OCD) will accept entries from March 15 to April 28, 2017 PARTICIPANTS: The contest is OPEN to all Filipino government ‘employees holding permanent positions except officers and staff of OCD Public Affairs Office. Proof of employment in government may be required from participants whose entries made it to the shortlist. THEME: + The Theme must be in Filipino, not less than five words, and must not exceed fiftsen words. * All entries must be related to disaster resilience and must have a nationwide approach. * All entries must be original and unpublished. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES: + Each participants allowed to submit a maximum of ONE entry only. © Participants must register online at the official website of Office of Civil Defense (ywww.ocd.aov.ph) and fill out the online registration form. + OCD will only accept entries submitted online. + OCD's online registration automatically limits the submission of entries per participant to one. Therefore, participants must make sure that they will only submit their final entry when registering and submitting Moreover, 2 participant is not allowed to use multiple emall addresses in sending their entries, Violators will be disqualified from the competition * QCD assumes no responsibility for any transmission delay or internet connection problem during the submission of entries, DEADLINE of submission of entries is 28 April 2017, 5:00 PM. The submission partal will automatically close and reject any entries that will be submitted after the deadline. All entries will be reviewed by the members of the Screening Committee. The Screering Committee will determine the twenty (20) entries that will be included in the fina! adjudication. Members of the Committee shall not be made aware of the names of the participants. & The twenty (20) entries shall be judged by a Board of Adjudicators composed of select members of NDRRMC Technical Working Group, Judges shall not be mace aware of the names of the participants; each submission will be given a corresponding nurrives prior to presentation 9. Entries will be judged on the folowing criteria + Relevance ofthe theme - 45% + Originality - 25% + Structure : 18% + Style 15% TOTAL 100% 10.Cash prizes (after taxes are deducted) are as follows: = 18 Place - PHP 20,000.00 * 2% Place - PHP 16,000.00 * 3° Place - PHP 12,000.00 = Runner-up (2) - PHP 10,000.00 each = Consolation Prizes (5) > PHP. 5,000.00 each 11..Cash prizes are subject to government taxes and follows accounting and auditing rules, 12.In case of identical winning entries, the cash prize shall be divided among the winners, 13.
