Brief outline of idea: (No more than 10 lines)

In the year 2050, humans have cut down most of the trees on the planet to be used as fuel, as the supply of
all other fossil fuels has already diminished to nothing. Because of this, the logging industry has become the
most powerful business in the entire world. Workers from other industries, which are no longer needed in
this dystopian future, have been made redundant and therefore are forced to work for logging companies
simply as a way of sustaining themselves. The people of Earth have also come to accept the fact that their
current lifestyle is unsustainable and that global warming is simply an inevitability. However, in this time of
desperation and depravity, two quarrelling brothers stand together to face these institutions, an enemy that
not only threatens the survival of their people but also the survival of human existence as we know it.

Detailed plot (Todorovs Narrative Theory):

Equilibrium
:
Amazonian tribes living peacefully and happily in the amazon rain forest and going
about their lives. The Tribe members already know about the logging of their
forest/jungle, however the logging companies havent yet reached their part of the
rain forest.

Disruption:

The Amazonian Tribe receive a warning that the logging company/business we be

moving to the area of trees just outside of their village in the next couple of weeks.

Recognitio With the rest of the tribe, Juma and his brother Hadza stand together to protect
n: their village from the logging company. (A dramatic climatic battle ensues,
near the end of the film, between the logging companies security and the
tribal warriors, who use their natural environment and surroundings to
their advantage during combat. E.g. Swinging from vines on trees,
creating booby traps and using the bushes and foliage to their
advantage). During the conflict, one of the senior loggers is bitten by a poisonous
snake and has only minutes to live. Juma, using his native knowledge and
experience in the jungle, is able to save his life therefore creating a personal link
between the two sides of the conflict.
Attempt to
repair: Being a much more reserved, pacifistic and thoughtful character, Juma realises
that continuing to battle isnt going to get either side any further and that they have
reached a stale mate in the conflict. After becoming personally involved with the
man whose life he saved, Juma then seizes the opportunity to stop the fighting and
instead start to explore other options

His indigenous ancestors have lived in the Amazon Rainforest
for hundreds of years and follow their tribes beliefs and rituals
very closely. However, unlike the rest of his family, he is still
accepting of the outside worlds actions, beliefs and way of life.
Jumas father is the head of the tribe and leads the main
organisation within the tribe.
He is an incredibly skilled hunter and hopes to soon become a
member of the tribes hunting clan/group.
He is also extremely skilled in combat and with a bow and
arrow can hit targets at from as far as 400m away.
Juma has a tremendous drive to contribute to his family and
be seen as an independent grown man amongst the others
members of his tribe particularly his dad and brother Hadza
who currently see him purely as the youngest and least
responsible member.
It is his drive and want to be able to supply for his family which gets
him up in the morning, as well as wanting to be seen by the tribe,
especially his father, as an independent grown man and as a
crucial/important part of the tribes society.
Juma aspires to be part of the tribes hunting clan/group, however his
father does not think he is ready and therefore will not let him.
The only thing that would hurt Juma is if anything happened to his
family as he is constantly concerned about their safety.
1. He lacks the aggression, desired by his father, to become a
member of the tribes hunting clan/group.
2. Another one of Jumas flaws is that he is also impatient to
grow up and become an independent and accepted member of
the tribe.
He is intelligent/smart and, at the same time, is very skilled in combat
situations with his favourite weapon being a bow and arrow.
He has an amazing sense of hearing, which is especially useful when he
goes out hunting. In addition, when using a bow and arrow, he is able to
hit targets from as far as 400 Metres (m) away.
Jumas Nemesis is his older brother (Hadza) who, with his fathers
permission, has already become a member of the tribes hunting clan.
This therefore creates a rivalry between the two brothers as well a
sense of tension between Juma and his dad over which son he prefers
the most. However, because of the danger which the logging company
 puts on Jumas family, him and his brother have to quickly learn to
work together if they are going to prevail and succeed over the
much larger logging company and their plans.

family as he is constantly concerned about their safety alongside ways
he can contribute to and improve their well-being.
Hadzas long term goal is to step up into his fathers shoes and be able
to lead the tribe the way that he wants it to be lead.
