Manjares Sex: Female

Birthdate: May 3, 1998 Age: 18 Education: College Undergraduate

Place of Examination: P607 - Room 2 Date of Exam: March 9, 2017
Examined by: Romart M. Rillera Date of Report: March 16, 2017
Tests Administered: Self Directed Search (SDS)

Reason for Referral: The examinee was referred for testing by a friend from one of our
group members. This assessment was conducted to identify the examinees possible
reasons of shifting or changing course. This is to make recommendations for easier
discovering the fields of study and occupations that fits well with the examinees
personality.

Observations and Interview Findings: The examinee, Minelle came in for administration
testing a little bit early than her scheduled time. The examinee was wearing a casual attire-
plain blue polo and pants. During the administration of the test, the examinee did not have
any cases that might interfere with her performance. The examinee listened to the
instructions given to her. The examinee also followed every direction given to her openly.
Once she began answering the test, it was evident that she was focused. The examinee
answered each and every question in the test booklet. The examinee took her time wisely.

Before the interview, the examinee was informed that she will be asked personal questions
related to her reasoning of changing from one course to another. Most of her answers
were timid and hesitant. The examinee was asked about her plans in her future career.
She said she had no such plans yet. She also said, "basta magkatrabaho, okay na." The
examinee was asked if her present course was her first choice and she answered no.
She said that she was a shifter. She changed her chosen path because her family
recommended the Bachelor of Arts in English, which is her course now. The examinee was
asked if she's satisfied with the course she have now. She said "yes," because she's into
reading books and writing poems.

Furthermore, the examinee was further asked if she had any background history. The
examinee said that she developed depression way back during her first year high school. It
was triggered by the loss of a loved one, the death of her mother. The examinee stopped
attending school and went to Manila for a year to seek professional help. She started
medication only when she was second year college. After a year, the examinee came back
here in Baguio and continued studying. This was also the time when she shifted courses.

Results and Interpretations: The examinee's result on the Summary code of Self-
Directed Search (SDS) was "ASE." The researcher computed the examinee's daydream
and the result was "SAE" in her Aspiration code. Social is the highest, Artistic is the second
highest and Enterprising is the third highest. As to the examinee's summary code which is
"ASE", she prefers writing, and artistic abilities and lacks clerical skills (e.g. office or
business works) , but then according to her aspiration code which is "SAE", it shows that
she is also inclined to educational, and interpersonal skills. According to the computation in
Iachan Congruence, the researchers compared the SDS Summary Code and the
Aspiration Code in a tabular form. The result was 21, PR= 48 meaning that the likelihood
of the examinee maintaining the aspiration is moderate. The examinee may or may not be
confused with what shes interested in. In the Iachan differentiation computation, the
researchers got 7, PR=60 as the result meaning this examinee is moderately
differentiated. The examinee may or may not clearly define her career choice.
Conclusion and Recommendation: Therefore, the researcher concluded that the results
in the SDS showed that the examinees accumulated scores for the occupation she is
interested in, have less similarities with her own occupational daydreams. Her pattern of
interests, self-estimates and competencies slightly resembles the demands of the
occupation which she is aiming for. Since, the examinee is currently taking up BA English,
it is best for her to keep on developing her writing abilities. It is higly recommended that
she take up the educational requirements of a teacher, since she is also interested in
being a teacher which is listed on her top three occupation day dreams. It could improve
her career into the best way possible. The examinee was diagnosed with depression, she
is also advised to continue her medication to manage her depression and promote mental
wellness.
