Introduction We will begin by reviewing the basic facts about the treaty system. Students will
(2 minutes) look at a map of the treaties made in Alberta. Today we are talking about Treaty 7.
With 10 minutes to go, we will go through the answers as a class. This will ensure
that students all have the correct information for their notes. Once we are done

reviewing the answers, I will let students know that next class we will look at the

effects of the treaty system.
Feedback: Work on speaking louder
Be more firm with instructions
Do not give instructions until all eyes are facing the
front of the classroom
Reflection: There were some behavioural issues during this lesson.
As per my feedback, I will work on being louder and
firmer with my instructions for the class. One piece of
feedback I have been given concerns the inflection in
my voice, which is something I havent noticed before.
Now I am very conscious of it! This is something that
will be an easy fix.
I think I will shy away from partner work for a while
because the students seem to have no issues when
working alone. It will be easier to have all eyes on me
when they arent focused on discussions with fellow
classmates, too.
I will also make a point to clearly establish my
expectations prior to any future activity. There was
some confusion about what I was asking the students to
do, and that confusion caused a few arguments. By
keeping the lesson itself clear and structured, students
will be more able to focus on the task at hand.
