Course objectives
After the course the student will have the Keywords:
elementary knowledge of the drivers towards
electric transmission, and the main
Electric vehicles
differences between road vehicles and non- Duty cycle
road mobile machinery.
Non-road mobile machinery
The student will learn about components,
powertrain topologies and dynamics of Electric motors
hybrid and electric powertrains. Electric power converters
The student can dimension powertrain System control
components based on design requirements
and duty cycle of the vehicle. Optimization
The student will learn basic modeling and System efficiency
control of the power flows and energy Energy storage
balance of the powertrain, and has a view of
feasible methods for overall system Batteries
optimization and how these methods can be Super capacitors
applied.
