About the Customer

The client is a leading innovation-driven organization committed to developing a growing portfolio
of best-in-class and first-in-class pharmaceutical products.

Project Background
Elanco is a division of an US based major pharmaceutical company that develops and markets the
products to improve the health and production of animals in more than 100 countries. Its primary focus
has been on feed additives and other products for the food animal segment of the livestock industry.
Livestock production includes feed additives and medicines for cattle, swine, and poultry. Through
enhanced food animal production and herd management practices, it helps the food industry to
produce an abundant supply of safe, nutritious, and affordable food. Elancos current product line
concentrates on four therapeutic classes: antibacterial, parasiticides, anticoccidials, and productivity
enhancers.

The current application architecture includes multiple feeds through various systems.

One subject area of data contained within the Elanco is Liver Abscess data, which represents a
summary record of liver abscess scores for a lot of cattle processed at a beef packing plant. Each
record captures the number of observed normal and abnormal livers within the lot, the gender of cattle,
and the particular antibiotic received by the cattle. The compilation of this data allows for continued
evaluation of the efficacy of Tylan in preventing liver abscesses thus improving the overall bovine
health. This data is used by the beef technical consultants and beef marketing personnel to
analyze disease trends based on the herd location, the time of the year and the antibiotic usage.

Feed assay data is also one of the subject areas of data contained within Elanco. This data is
maintained by Elanco and consists of the records of the feed provided to beef, dairy, swine and
poultry, and distribution lists for feed assays. Dairy assays are recorded under the beef
classification due to the small number of assays scored. The majority of the feed assay records are
for beef. This data represents the records of feed samples taken by Elanco customers and which
are sent to an analysis laboratory for purposes of determining the proper amount of Elanco feed
additives present in the sample.

The following is the description of the scope of services to be provided by TCS.

Data cleansing, troubleshooting, and resolution of any data related issues
Interactions with the vendors, issues management, and providing resolutions
