DESCRIERE Produsul ETISIL G 4101 este un grund pasivant bicomponent pe baza de etilsilicat si pulbere de zinc.
Description Buna sudabilitate, excelenta rezistenta la intemperii si abraziune, asigura o excelenta protectie catodica si intarire
rapida in conditii extreme (-15 -+50C, 25 -100 % umiditate relativa), aderenta excelenta pe suprafete curate,
rezistenta buna la produse petroliere, solventi organici (toluen, butanol), solutie salina, rezistenta buna la schimbari
de temperatura, buna rezistenta la soc termic - 12 cicluri (2 ore la 400C-racire brusca), produs bogat in zinc.
ETISIL G 4101 product is a two-component passivant primer based on ethylsilicate and zinc dust.
Good weldability, excellent weather and abrasion resistance, it ensures an excellent cathodic protection and quick curing
under extreme conditions (-15C - + 50C, 25 -100% relative humidity), excellent adherence to clean surfaces, good
resistance to petroleum products, organic solvents (toluene, butanol), salt solutions, good resistance to temperature
variations, good thermal shock resistance -12 cycles (2 hours at 400 C - sudden cooling), zinc-rich product.

PREGATIREA SUPRAFETEI Suportul nu trebuie sa aiba defecte de suprafata (suprapuneri de material, fisuri, stropi de sudura, etc.).
Surface preparation Suprafete metalice noi: sablare la gradul Sa 2 in conformitate cu SR EN ISO 8501-1: 2002 sau 2 conform STAS
10166 / 1- 77, pregatirea suprafetei realizandu-se in conformitate cu SR EN ISO 8504-1: 2002, SR EN ISO 8504-2:
2002, SR EN ISO 8504-3 : 2002.
Se recomanda sablare cu particule colturoase (G) si obtinerea unui microprofil cu amplitudinea de cca. 40-60% din
grosimea stratului uscat de aplicat al produsului, pentru a evita aparitia fenomenului de crapare a peliculei.
Cordoanele de sudura trebuie sablate suplimentar pana la obtinerea amplitudinii corespunzatoare microprofilului.
Grosimea totala a filmului uscat se recomanda sa nu depaseasca 110 micr. pentru a se evita aparitia fenomenului
de crapare a peliculei.
The degree of substrate preparation is decisive for the protective system performance.
The substrate should not present surface defects (material overlapping, cracks, welding drops, etc.).
New metallic surfaces: abrasive blasting at Sa 2 in accordance with SR EN ISO 8501-1: 2002 or 2 in accordance with
STAS 10166 / 1 -77, surface preparation is achieved in accordance with SR EN ISO 8504-1: 2002, SR EN ISO 8504-2:
2002, SR EN ISO 8504-3: 2002.
You should blast with angular particles (G) and obtain a microfilm with a amplitude of around 40-60 % of the product dry
coat thickness in to avoid film cracking.
The welding seams have to be further blasted till obtaining the corresponding microprofile amplitude.
The total thickness of the dry film should not surpass 110 m in order to avoid the film cracking.
CONDITII DE APLICARE Grundul G 4101 se va aplica numai pe suprafete curate si uscate, ce vor avea temperaturi cu 3C peste
Application conditions temperatura punctului de roua pentru evitarea condensarii umiditatii pe suport. Umiditatea relativa va fi de 50- 70%.
Aplicarea decurge in conditii optime daca se asigura o temperatura a mediului ambiant de -10 -+50C si a
amestecului de 10-30C. Suprafata trebuie sa fie uscata. Pentru aplicarea produsului la temperaturi mai mici de
0C, suprafata nu trebuie sa prezinte urme de gheata.
G 4101 primer should be applied only on dry and clean surfaces with 3 C temperatures above the dew point temperature
in order to avoid condensation. The environment relative humidity should be 50 -70%. Application is made under optimal
conditions if is ensured an environment of -10 - +50 C and mixture temperature of 10-30 C. The surface must be dry.
For product application below 0 C, the surface must not present ice traces.

mechanical characteristics or the adequate compacting degree. It remains porous and the susceptibility to blistering of the
subsequently applied product raises.
The dry spraying of the product should be avoided !!!
Soon after drying, the removal of the dry-sprayed particles should be made with a soft brush or abrasive paper of medium
granulation, followed by dedusting, preferably through suction.
As shopprimer is recommended the application of product in one uniform coat which should not be thicker than 25 micr.
Before the application of the final protective system, depending on situation, you can proceed to:
- complete removal of the shopprimer coat by blasting;
- inspection, cleaning and correction of the existing shopprimer coat followed by the application of the recommended
protective system.
The application of a new G 4101 primer coat over previously coat applied, should be made within the interval during which
the shade of the first coat shifts to the dry product hue (shade). However the experience proved that the product G 4101
can be re-coated even after a higher interval (till 24 h) without loosing the adherence between coats.
The dry film of ETISIL G 4101 is very susceptible to greases contamination !!!
The removal of the greases spots is carried out with difficulty by local and wet-on-dry successive tamponing with solvents
or water and detergent. Protection measures should be taken for such contamination of the surfaces covered with G 4101.
REACOPERIRE Inainte de reacoperire grundul trebuie sa fie intarit complet, perfect curat, uscat si fara urme de pulverizare uscata.
Re-coating Reacoperirea peliculelor de ETISIL G 4101 se face prin tehnica de aplicare mist -coat sau tie-coat, care consta in
aplicarea unui strat subtire cu o grosime de 20-30 m din produsul de reacoperire. Pentru acest lucru, produsul de
reacoperire trebuie diluat mai mult, ca pentru aplicarea prin pulverizare cu aer, la limita superioara a intervalului de
dilutie. La 15 -30 minute dupa aplicarea stratului mist-coat se aplica, pana la grosimea recomandata in sistem, in
straturi pline produsul de reacoperire. Prin aceasta tehnica de aplicare se evita aparitia fenomenului de basicare a
stratului urmator.
Intervalele de reacoperire pentru produsul G 4101, dependente de temperatura si umiditate, sunt urmatoarele
(pentru o grosime de strat uscat de 50 m):
Before re-coating the primer must be fully hardened, perfectly clean, dry and dry spray -free.
The re-coating of the ETISIL G 4101 films should be made by the application technique mist-coat or tie-coat that
consists in applying a thin coat with a thickness of 20 -30 m of the re-coating product. For this, the re-coating product

The re-coating intervals for G 4101 product, dependent by temperature and humidity are as follows (50 m dry film
thickness) :
Ca shopprimer, intervalul de reacoperire este de minum: 24h si maximum - nespecificat, cu respectarea conditiilor
de pregatire a suprafetei inainte de reacoperire.
Curatarea suprafetei inainte de reacoperirea finala depinde de conditia suprafetei:
1. suprafata pe baza de silicat de zinc intacta cu formarea sporadica de rugina alba (produsi ai coroziunii zincului).
- indepartati uleiurile, grasimile, murdaria, etc prin spalare cu detergent;
- indepartati rugina alba prin curatare cu apa proaspata la presiune mare 200- 350 bari, la o distanta duza -
suprafata de 15 -20 cm.
Daca suprafata este doar usor contaminata, dupa o expunere de 1-2 luni intr-un mediu usor coroziv, stropirea
suprafetei cu apa proaspata si frecarea cu perii rigide (nylon) poate fi mai eficienta si practica.
Verificati daca acoperirea este complet uscata inainte de reacoperire.
2. suprafata pe baza de silicat de zinc cu formare de rugina alba care nu poate fi indepartata prin metoda de mai
sus:
- indepartati uleiul, grasimile si murdaria, etc., prin spalare cu detergent;
- sablati abraziv suprafata pentru a indeparta rugina alba, apoi aspirati pentru a indeparta abrazivii si praful;
- refaceti stratul de zinc.
3. suprafetele deteriorate, arse, cu stropi de sudura, etc.:
- indepartati uleiul, grasimile, murdaria, etc. prin spalare cu detergent;
- indepartati stropii de sudura;
- suprafata se sableaza abraziv la minim Sa 2, urmata de indepartarea completa a abrazivilor si desprafuire prin
aspirare;
- refaceti stratul de zinc.

As shopprimer the minimum re-coating interval is of 24 hours and the maximum re-coating interval not-specified,
respecting surface preparation conditions before re-coating.
Surface cleaning before top-coating depends on the condition of the surface:
1. Intact zinc silicate surface with sporadic formation of white rust (zinc corrosion products):
- remove oil, grease, dirt, e.g. by detergent washing;
- remove white rust by high pressure fresh water cleaning 200-350 bar at a nozzle-to-surface distance of 15-20 cm.
If the surface is only slightly contamined, corresponding to 1-2 months of exposure in a mildly corrosive environment,
hosing down of the surface with fresh water and scrubbing with stiff brushes (nylon) may be efficient and more practical.
Check out if the coating is thoroughly dry before over coating.
2. Zinc silicate surface with formation of white rust which can not be removed as described above:
- remove oil, grease, dirt, e.g., by detergent washing;
- abrasive blast sweep to remove white rust, followed by vacuum cleaning to remove abrasives and dust;
- re-build the zinc coat.
3. Damaged, burnt areas, with welding spatters, etc.:
- remove oil, grease, dirt, etc, by detergent washing;
- remove welding spatters;
- blast abrasively the surface to min. Sa 2 , followed by thorough removal of abrasives and dust by vacuum cleaning;
- re-build the zinc coat.
Observatii Inainte de reacoperire, dupa expunerea in medii contaminate, suprafetele vor fi bine curatate prin spalare cu jet de
Remarks apa la presiune ridicata, urmata de uscare. In cazul depasirii intervalului maxim de reacoperire, se va proceda la o
asperizare a suprafetei pentru a se asigura o buna aderenta pentru straturile urmatoare.
Atingerea intervalelor maxime de reacoperire, asigurarea unei bune aderente, precum si bune proprietati mecanice
implica asigurarea urmatoarelor:
-grundul trebuie aplicat intr-o grosime de strat uscat in jurul valorii de 50 m;
-stratul de grund obtinut trebuie sa fie uniform, de buna calitate si fara urme de pulverizare uscata;
-conditiile de uscare si intarire vor fi conform celor specificate la punctul CONDITII DE APLICARE pana la intarirea
completa;
-suprafetele TREBUIE sa fie perfect curate inaintea reacoperirii.
Before re-coating, after exposure in contaminated environment, clean the surface thoroughly by (high pressure) fresh
water jetting and let it dry. If the maximum re-coating interval is exceeded, roughening of the surface is necessary to
ensure good intercoat adhesion the following coats.
For reaching the maximum re-coating intervals, ensuring a good adherence as well as good mechanical properties the
following conditions should be ensured:
-the primer has a dry film thickness as near as possible to 50 m;
-the film formed is uniform, qualitative and "dry spray- free";
-the drying and curing conditions are according to the APPLICATION CONDITIONS until full cure is obtained;
-the surfaces MUST be completely clean before re-coating.

prelungita a vaporilor, ingerarea produsului.
All the operations of handling, transport, storage and use should be accomplished in strict compliance with the fire
prevention, safety and health norms. The presence of any fire source, painting in areas without adequate ventilation, direct
contact of skin with the respective product, prolonged inhalation of vapors and ingestion of the product should be
forbidden.
