To Whom It May Concern:

This missive represents one of those rare but wonderful instances when one can write a letter of
recommendation not only without reservation, but with enthusiasm. I have worked with and known Meagan
Ackerman, as a student teacher and collaborator for 8 months. She has experience in team teaching 7th grade
science within the general education setting, she has run several sections of reading intervention for a class of
special education students, and she has worked in small group enrichment interventions. She also has had the
opportunity to run and implement an intervention group for 8th grade students.
In my interactions with Meagan, I have been very impressed with her instruction, and overall dedication to what
is best for her students in her classroom and in the building.

Her experience in working with students on the Autism spectrum has been very impressive. She has helped
develop transition plans and intervention strategies to a variety of students. She has written and distributed
student snap shots to the general education teachers. She has contributed to the writing and delivery of many
IEP meetings. Meagan has had the opportunity to administer many assessments to students: QRI, Acuity, SRI,
summative and formative class assessments. Her lessons are carefully thought-out and reflect the needs of her
students. Meagan is a strong advocate for the educational and emotional needs of her students.

I have had the opportunity to observe Meagan in team and department meetings. She is a team player and
always puts student needs first. Meagan is passionate about modifying instruction to meet the learning needs of
all students. She uses data driven practices to set goals with students and has monitored progress throughout the
years.

Meagan builds excellent rapport with her students which allows her to motivate them to be successful in the
classroom. Her enthusiasm is contagious; her warmth and compassion are readily evident; her devotion to her
students is beyond question, and her sense of humor is an asset that one wishes every teacher had. She has a gift
for this profession and it is exhibited in her confidence and competence in the area of special education.

I can say without hesitation that any program or district in which Meagan sees an opportunity for employment
will be enhanced by her inclusion. It is a privilege to recommend Meagan Ackerman to your program or district.
