READ 3226 Reflection Elizabeth Blackwell

Overall my experience in the classroom for the past two weeks

was awesome. I was placed in a fourth grade classroom at Cornelius

Elementary. I was able to observe some great lessons during Readers

Workshop, and was able to learn some new strategies to integrate other

subject into reading. During the two weeks, the students were learning

about poetry, drama, and prose. This was fun because I hadnt learned

about any of the content they were doing since I was in elementary

school. My cooperating had some awesome activities for them planned

out like poetry bingo, where they had to make 3 in a row and do the

activities in their row. I was able to facilitate some guided reading

groups, and help struggling reader/writers with some assignments.

I truly feel like I was able to take what we had learned in the class

and apply it in the classroom, which was great. I still want to pursue

this career after this experience and it has helped become a better

student and future teacher.
