Dear Elected Officials

Thank you for your response to my March 20, 2017 letter regarding middle
school articulation patterns in District 30.

In an effort to clarify the Gifted and Talented (G&T) admissions process for
all families:

All students offered a Kindergarten and/or a Gifted and Talented seat for
September 2017, as well as any District 30 G&T students currently enrolled
in grades K-5, will continue to receive admissions priority for middle school
G&T articulation.

As noted in the March 20, 2017 letter, decisions regarding future

admissions priorities for students entering Kindergarten in September 2018
will be in place by December, so that every family might make an informed
decision during the start of the kindergarten application process.

On behalf of the New York City Department of Education and Community

School District 30, I thank you for your partnership and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. Philip A. Composto
