Reflection on the Learning from the Review Workshop on Participant Observation

Activity

During the workshop on the reviewing participant observation notes, I had opportunity to

pair with Erica Gilmer Hudson and we both reviewed each others notes and discussed its

purpose, positive points that should be incorporated in further PO activity and in notes in terms

of interpretation and description. Before, working on notes we both shared purpose of the

activity so that keeping in view the purpose, we can review the notes in accordance of purpose

and along with provided guiding noted during the class.

The positive point that noted from her notes and her feedback on my notes are as under;

1. I have learned from her rough notes that were detailed, clean and well organized that I

should focus in my coming notes taking activities.

2. Usage of diagram was good and helpful in learning about location and meeting

proceeding that I think I should focus in my future notes.

3. Erica identified about the covert language in my notes that I should take care in the

future.

4. Taking detailed notes and at same time sticking with purpose need efforts, I observed that

Erica not only took detailed notes but she noted the required information that serve her

purpose of observation. While observing, taking notes and expanding notes I was specific
to my purpose and I some time feel like I should have given more time to the location and

general observation.
