MACHNICAL , ELECTRICAL
PLUMBING
FIRE FIGHTING WORK

CHECK LIST

PUMP HOUSE:

Pump Installation

ELECTRICAL WORK

CHECK LIST

CONDUITING:

All conduits shall be of heavy gauge solid drawn ERW welded manufactured
out of 16 SWG MS sheet as approved by client / consultant
Both inner & outer surface shall be smooth without burrs, dents & kinks and
shall
Be black enameled

Ensure that conduits shall be laid before sating in the upper of slab
Ensure sufficient depth of chases will be made to accommodate the conduit
Ensure that conduit shall be kept as a minimum distance of 100mm from the
pipes of other services
Conduit in chases shall be held by steel hooks at a distance of 600mm center
The embedment of conduits in wall shall be so that minimum 12mm plaster
covers the same.
Conduits run on surface shall be supported with metal 1.2mm thick saddle.
Conduits run on surface shall be saddled at a distance of 500mm centers
Ensure that Back Japan paints on all joints
Ensure proper tightening of screws
Ensure plugging of unused opening
Ensure check nuts on either side of switch boxes

WIRING:

All wire shall be PVC insulated copper conductor as approved by client /


consultant.
Ensure looping system of wiring shall be used & wires shall not be jointed
No reduction of strands are permitted at terminations
Identification ferrules indicating the circuits & DB number shall be used for,
sub-mains & sub-circuit wiring.
Ensure circuit fed from distance sources of supply or from different
distribution boards or through switches or MCBs shall not be bunched in on conduit.
Ensure that No. of conductors used are as specified
Ensure that earth conductor is provided.
LUMINAIRES:

Luminaries shall be as per make & type specified


Ensure that luminaries shall be completed in all respect
Ensure that luminaries shall be suspended true to alignment, plumb & level.
Whether luminaries are fixed on false ceiling, ensure that suitable supporting
and fixing arrangement independent of framework of false ceiling shall be provided.
Ensure that luminaries earthed properly

EARTHING:

All electrical installation shall be earthed as per drawing


Location of pit as per drawing
Check the depth of pit
Ensure that Electrodes shall be placed vertical in plumb & level
Ensure that filling of salt, charcoal & sand in required ratio.
Ensure that water pipe is fixed & funnel is installed
Check size of chamber
Check earth resistivity

POLE:

Location of pole as per drawing


Check foundation as per drawing
Check vertical alignment of pole with plumb
Ensure that G.I. pipe provided for cable & earth wire
Ensure that weather proof terminal box provided at required height
Check cable termination
Ensure that lighting fixture mount in proper alignment

DISTRIBUTION BOARD:

Location as per drawing


Height as per drawing
Type of mounting recess / surface
Check vertical alignment of DB For JMC Projects (India) Limited, conduit
connection
Ensure that each DB shall have a separate neutral connection bar and
separate earth connection bar mounted
All the DBs shall be marked with lighting, UPS power or emergency with DB
Nos.
Each DB shall be provided with a circuit list giving details of each circuit
All the outgoing circuit wiring shall be provided with identification ferrules
giving the circuit number and phase
Ensure that earth wire / strip connected with DBs
Take insulation test & electrical test at load & no load
CABLING:

Before laying test the following:


Insulation resistance test with 1000 V meager.
Continuity resistance test
Earth test.
Check cable drum shall be placed properly on jacks.
Cable shall be unrolled in right direction as per the manufactures
specification.
Ensure that no kinks form during unwinding.
Ensure that cable is to be laid in straight line or if change in direction, s
suitable curvature shall be maintained i.e.12 times the dia meter of the
cable.
Ensure that a small loop shall be provided at every straight trough
joint.
Check cable trench width and depth as per drawings
Ensure that back filling of the underground trenches shall be done after
completion of sand cushioning and brick lying as specified.
Ensure that cable marker shall be provided at require interval.
Ensure that cable tag shall be provided at both ends of the cable in
open.

ELECTRICAL PANEL (MCC, PCC)

Location as per drawings.


Foundation as per drawings.
Foundation leveling.
Ensure that panel shall be placed properly on foundation
Vertical alignment of panel with plumb from all sides.
Leveling of panels
Ensure that earthing shall be provided on panel body.
Ensure that all electrical connections shall be tightened properly
Following test shall be carried out before testing
Insulation test
Earth continuity test
CT polarity test
No load test and on load test.
Ensure that operation of all switch gear is satisfactory
Take all the test result.

CABLES:-
Supplying and laying in ready built-up trenches/ excavated trenches, through
hume pipes laid by other agencies/ on walls or on walls of lift shafts or on
columns or on ceiling using G.I. spacers and G.I. saddles/ G.I clamps made
from G.I. strips, or on cable trays (cable tray supply & installation covered
under item D.3) with nylon cable ties, the following XLPE insulated 1.1 KV
grade, armoured and overall sheathed copper/aluminum conductor cables are
made to IS:7098 (Part-l) 1988.(All these cables will be from New Transformer
to Main LT panel and DG set to Main LT panel).

End Termination:-

Supplying and making end terminal joints to the following 1.1 KV grade PVC
insulated armoured overall sheathed copper/ aluminum conductor cables,
using nickel plated double compression brass cable glands, copper
compression type cable sockets (no sockets necessary for cables of size 10
sq.mm. and below), PVC insulating tapes, etc.

Internal Lighting Fixtures:-

Supply, Installation, Testing & commissioning of 1 x 36W trulite, ceiling/wall


mountable luminaire suitable for use with 1x 36 W TL-D Fluorescent Lamp,
luminaire with CU Ballast and its necessary accessories to complete the job.
(Similar to Philips-TMS122).

Light point controlled:-


The conduit shall be rigid PVC having heavy wall thickness and bear ISI mark,
minimum diameter of conduit shall be 20mm, cross sectional area of PVC insulated
1100volt grade wires made to IS:694 shall be: 1 mm. For light points in rigid PVC ISI
marked Conduit with heavy wall thickness but the rate to include laying vertical drops to
switches and sockets in conduit to be recessed in wall and finally making it good. The
circuit wiring including conduit & earthing is also to be included in the point wiring rates.
The rate shall also include supplying and installing modular switches, MS switch box,
ceiling rose (wherever applicable)

Sub Main Point Wiring:-


Supply, Installation, Testing & commissioning of sub main wiring from main distribution
board to main switch board using 2*2.5 sq mm copper flexible wire, 1.5 sq mm green
earth wire, using 20mm heavy duty PVC conduits.
Sewage network and appurtenances

EARTHWORK:
Excavation for Sewer / Pipe trenches to the required grade & level in earth, soils of all types of
sand, gravel & soft & hard murum, & boulders up to 0.03 c.u.m. of size including removing the
excavated material upto a distance of 50 meters beyond the edges of trenches & lifts up to 1.5
m, stacking refilling the excavated trenches & spreading as directed, bailing out water,
including cost of required material if any including shoring, strutting etc. complete.

Excavation only for Sewage network line


1. Up to 1.5m depth
2. Above 1.5 up to 3.0m deep
3. Above 3.0 up to 4.5 m deep
4. Above 4.5 m deep

FILLING -Filling murum/Sand bedding below pipeline and filling on the top of the pipeline
with selected material in 15 to 20 cm layers including watering, ramming etc. complete.
(Murrum filling available at site)

UPVC PIPES: - Providing and laying UPVC pipes of standard make in line and level
including necessary labour, bends, tees, fixtures complete. Confirming to IS: 4985-2000.etc.
and testing the pipes. (DIAMETER-150 mm, 200 mm, 250 mm)

CONSTRUCTING MANHOLE CHEMBER :- Constructing Manhole chamber of following


size in B.B. masonry 2nd class of 230 mm thick upto 1.5 m depth and 350 mm thick below 1.5
m depth in cement mortar 1:3, with foundation concrete 200 mm thick in C.C. 1:3:6,and
benching top R.C.C. slab of 150 mm thick in C.C. 1:1.5:3, plastered on both faces in cement
mortar 1:3, 20 mm. thick finished with neat float, including curing, cost of all labour, material,
Shuttering, Scaffolding / staging, shoring & strutting, loading, unloading and transportation
charges of material, including fixing in position CI cover and frame. Including providing &
fixing in position CI steps etc. complete. (Including the cost of excavation and dewatering if
required. Cement, sand, aggregates, steel, Brick/Blocks is free issued).
Manhole Chamber 1200 mm x 900 mm x 1000 mm deep (Internal Size)
Constructing Circular type manhole chamber :- Constructing Circular type manhole
chamber of 1500mm diameter and size in B.B. masonry 230 mm thick in cement mortar 1:3
upto 1.95 depth, 460 mm thick above 1.95 upto 4.05 depth, & 575 mm thick above 4.05 depth
including foundation concrete 200 mm thick, & top R.C.C. slab 150 mm thick in grade C.C.
M-20, inside plaster. 20 mm thick in cement mortar 1: 3 with sulphur resistant cement finished
with a floating coat of neat cement, & pointing in cement mortar 1:2 above crown level, and
providing channels in C.C. M 15 & finished smooth complete curing testing etc. complete
including fixing CI cover & frame etc complete (Including excavation and dewatering
Shuttering, Scaffolding / staging, shoring & strutting. (Cement, sand, aggregates, steel,
Brick/Blocks is free issued). PVC drop connection150 mm dia, 200 mm dia.

SUPPLY AND FIXING: - Supply and fixing SFRC cover (Rectangular/circular, Heavy Duty)
with frame confirming to IS: 1726-1974 (Part I - VII) with locking arrangement including
taxes and duties.

Manhole Chamber covers;-

1. 1200 mm x 900 mm (For Scraper Manhole)


2. 600 mm x 600 mm (For Manholes)
3. 600 mm diameter (For circular Manholes)

Flushing connection to manhole chamber: - Providing & constructing Flushing connection


to manhole chamber including inspection & cleaning eye with chain & lid, PVC drop pipe &
bend encased all round with C.C. 1:2:4 with all centering & shuttering required, calling taking
holes in walls & making good in brick masonry in C.M. 1:3 plastered with cement mortar 1:3,
20 mm thick including curing etc complete including all PVC pipe & fittings jointing to
channels etc. complete (Including excavation. Cement, sand, Aggregates, steel, Brick/ Blocks
free issue).
PVC Flushing connection: - 150 mm dia.

Sewer Appurtenances:-

Inspection chambers and Manholes:-

1. Size of Chambers / Manholes:-

The given in Bill of Quantities and drawings shall be internal finished size of chamber.
The work shall be done strictly as per standard drawing and following specifications.

2. Bed Concrete:-
Shall be in 1:3:6 cement concrete 200 mm thick.
3. Brick Work:-
Brick work shall be with best quality bricks in 1:5 cement mortars.
4. Plaster:-
Inside of the wall of chamber / manhole shall be plastered with 20/15 mm thick cement
plaster 1:3 (1 cement: 3 coarse sand) and finished smooth with a floating coat of neat
cement. Manholes shall be plastered from outside as above but with rough plaster.

Water proofing compound as approved by the clients Representative shall be added in the
cement sand mortar ratio as specified by manufacture

WATER SUPPLY NETWORK AND INSTALLATION

EARTHWORK:-

Supply & installation of Pumps as per below specifications.

MULTISTAE CENTRIFUGAL (DIRECT COUPL) :- Vertical inline multistage centrifugal


(direct coupled) pumps with TEFC motor mounted on a common C.I. structural frame work,
including common suction header with flange for inlet connection, common outlet, header with
flange for outlet connections and interconnecting piping with isolating valves, non-return
valves, strainers, drain valves, pressure gauges with isolation cock etc.

PRECHARGED DIAPHRAGM PRESSURE VESSEL: - Precharged diaphragm pressure


vessel of suitable size and nos. for the system mentioned below with charging connection,
connected to outlet header with necessary flanges, gaskets, isolating, valves, nuts/bolts etc.

FULLY AUTOMATIC CONTROL PANEL: - Fully automatic control panel including


starters, instruments, incoming isolator, level control for low water guard for pumps, micro
process based PLC, variable frequency drive (VFD), pump sequencing, pressure transmitter,
low and high system pressure switch with alarm auto/manual selector switches, interconnecting
power control cabling etc. all accessories which required to complete the system for working
conditions as per specifications.

Domestic Water Network:-


1. 25 mm diameter

Flushing Water Network:-

1. 25 mm diameter

HEAVY DUTY CP BRASS BALL VALVE / WEEL VALLVE :- Providing & fixing in
position heavy duty CP brass Ball Valve/Wheel valve/Scour Valve conforming to latest BIS
codes including necessary socket/union nut etc. complete for fixing cocks, sun and safeda
must be used to make joint perfectly watertight.
SINGLE BALL AIR VALVES: - Providing, fixing In position and jointing Single Ball Air
Valves, Screw Down Type with nipple and with / without isolating thread stop cock
conforming to IS: 14848-2000, tested to 200 M head of water (working pressure). [Rates to
include cost of gaskets, bolts, nuts and any other material required for jointing and also cost of
Valve, its transportation etc. including taxes and duties

CONSTRUCTION VALVE CHAMBER :- Constructing Valve chamber of following size in


B.B. masonry 2nd class of 230 mm thick up to 1.5 m depth and 350 mm thick below 1.5 m
depth in cement mortar 1:3, with foundation concrete 200 mm thick in C.C. 1:4:8, and
benching top R.C.C. slab of 150 mm thick in C.C. 1:2:4, plastered on both faces in cement
mortar 1:3, 20 mm. thick finished with neat float, including curing, cost of all labour, material,
Shuttering, Scaffolding / staging, shoring & strutting, loading, unloading and transportation
charges of material, including providing & fixing in position RCC precast cover, 150 mm thick
with requisite reinforcement and frame. Including providing & fixing in position CI steps etc.
complete. (Including the cost of excavation and dewatering if required. Cement, sand, steel,
Brick/Blocks is free issue).

1. Chamber 600 mm x 600 mm x 1200 mm deep (Internal Size- for water meter, control
valve, scour valve and non return valve near inlet)
2. Chamber 900 mm x 900 mm x 1200 mm deep (Internal Size- For control valve, scour valve
and air valve)

WATER METERS :- Providing and Fixing Water meters ISI marked class B confirming to
ISI 4064 / 1 including non return valve, strainer, isolation valves etc complete including all
Taxes, Duties etc complete.

UPVC PIPES:-

Pipes and Fitting:-


The pipes and fittings shall be easy to install. Its pressure bearing capacity shall be twice than
that of the threaded pipe. The pipes & fittings shall be chemical & corrosion resistance, low
thermal conductivity, high strength to weight ratio, good impact resistance & ease of
installation. The pipe shall be confirmed to ASTM D 3034 as per BOQ.
Joining is accomplished quickly & efficiently utilizing inexpensive tools thereby greatly
reduces the labour & installation cost.
