ROCHESTER COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

NORTH HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

11/7/2016

To Whom It May Concern:

Bridget Cunningham has been a long-term guest teacher throughout the fall of 2016 at North
Hill Elementary School in Rochester, MI. Ms. Cunningham has filled in since the first day of
school through late November. This time has included a building open house, kindergarten
curriculum night, and parent-teacher conferences. Bridget has handled all of these important
events with the grace and enthusiasm of a veteran teacher. She has effectively worked with
students of multiple ability levels, diverse backgrounds, and varied educational and social
needs throughout her time at North Hill. This has given her a wide array of experiences, as
well as forced her to differentiate her instruction in order to meet the needs of all of the
students. In addition, Ms. Cunningham has not missed a single day of work. By all
accounts, she has done a wonderful job.

Ms. Cunningham has involved herself in many aspects of North Hill Elementary School. She
actively participates in Kindergarten Team meetings, staff meetings, and district professional
development. Ms. Cunningham has shown growth as an educator throughout her time at
North Hill as well. Her lessons include classroom discussions, a variety of materials and
technology prepared ahead of time, and high-level student engagement and interaction. She
is comfortable with a workshop model of instruction as well as keeping and analyzing
Running Records and other diagnostic data.

Ms. Cunningham is well respected by fellow staff and students at North Hill. I have observed
her teaching on a few occasions, and she maintains good control while still fostering an
environment of learning and interest. Bridget appears to truly understand the students at the
elementary age and connects with them on a personal level while still maintaining a
professional relationship. She is a team player and always willing to pitch in wherever help
may be needed.

Ms. Cunningham would be an asset to any school, and I recommend her for any teaching
position for which she is qualified.

To whom this concerns,

It is my sincere pleasure to write this letter recommending Bridget Cunningham
for a position in your school district. Ms. Cunningham was my student teacher
from August 2015 to December 2016. From the very first time I met her, I knew
that she was a perfect fit for Barnard Elementary School. She was eager to get
right to work and learn new things.

Ms. Cunninghams true gift is really getting to know students on a deeper level
and establish a safe environment for them to learn. During Ms. Cunningham's
student teaching, she was faced with some challenging situations. She dealt with
each situation with professionalism and creativity in order to do what is best for
the child. I feel confident that she can handle a highly diverse classroom because
of her experience as a student teacher in my classroom. Ms. Cunningham
communicated with parents during her time at Barnard. She called each individual
family to share student strengths. She wrote classroom newsletters to keep
parents informed of what students were working on in class.

Ms. Cunningham not only learned about the third grade content and curriculum,
she also incorporated technology when appropriate and promoted student
learning through Visible Thinking by Ron Richardt. She dedicated her time by
attending professional development opportunities and several outside school
events during her student teaching experience. She regularly met and
collaborated with our third grade team and building teams.

I would highly recommend Ms. Cunningham to fill any position in your school. She
would make a great addition to any teaching staff.

Sincerely,
Tracy Oliver
