EMULSION PROCEDURE

Binder, VG10 650g, take 670g including the wastage (heat at 120C)
Emulsifier - Indulin W-5
Acid proportion (50:50) (HCl: Water)
Rinse solution (total 350g)
pH = 3
15g (emulsifier) + 335 (water + acid)
Water (normal tap water)
Soap Solution (total 350g)
pH = 1.6
15g ( emulsifier) + 335 (water + acid)
Water (60C)
Wash the emulsion mill with warm water and drain out the water.
Wash it with rinse solution and collect it.
Pour the heated soap solution (60C) to the mill and start the mill.
To the above soap solution add heated binder (120C) and stir at a constant
speed.
Collect the emulsion in a container and keep it in the oven at 65C for 15hrs
(min 12hrs).
Clean the mill with rinse solution and then with cold water till clear water is
drained out.
