NOI COLLEZIONISTI
Dionisio Gavagnin

confini geografici e modalit espressive.
inanella record su record milionari nelle aste internazionali,

concorrenza.

primo posto in assoluto.

There is no doubt, in fact, that Italys Futurism and expressed throughout the twentieth century?
Metaphysical art represent the two main movements from In my opinion, the answer must be no, simply for the reason
which all other art forms have derived and evolved during
the successive years of the 1900s, with no geographical
confines or limits to expressive means.
We should consider that the Italian phenomenon of
Futurism art was what triggered the Dada movement in
1910 which flourished greatly over the next 10 years or so,
this movement primarily involving performing and visual
arts, literature, art manifestoes, art theory, theatre and
graphic design, as well as certain environmental art forms,
the Spatialism movement, Polimaterism, and artistic
exchanges between art and advertising, for example that
illustrated by Depero. Undeniably, too, Futurism also had a
profound impact on the movement of Surrealism.
However, it is true, nowadays, that a Damian Hirst with its
mummified beasts can attract record offers of millions at
international auctions whilst the great works of Prampolini,
which were during the 1st and 2nd World Wars comparable
to those of Picasso, Mondrian and Kandinskij, today have, if
anything, a street market value and often go for sale prices.
In fact, today, we rarely talk about De Chirico and
Metaphysical art and it has to be said that the fundamental
role of the Maestro in the expressive emersion of the
unconsciousness and spirituality of modern and
contemporary art is not considered enough. However,
Surrealism and Informal Art, along with New Objectivity
art (Neue Sachlichkei in German) and Magical Realism
(Realismo Magico in Italian), all art movements that had
their beginnings between the two World Wars, not to
mention the shaping and reshaping works of Morandi
that show such dedication in his quest for the real essence
of objects and time, would never have been conceivable

cultured, which has come along with me and made me happy... Recently, I have been thinking about the predictions of the Mayan
(Giuseppe Morra) calendar, that the world will end on December 21, 2012 and the fact that
Fuxus will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2012. You will remember
...Surely, not all of these intermedial works are fluxus works. The fluxus Maciunas Fluxus logo with the face of the Aztec God, Tonatiuh, sticking-
phenomenon appears when these works are treated as conceptual out his tongue ...Could it be, that choice of Tonatiuh as a logo for Fluxus,
models, without any excess material used in their realization... (Dick was a Maciunas hidden/coded message... not only about the end of art
Higgins) but also the end of the world!? (Ben Patterson)

...Fluxus is programmatically anarchic, chaotic, diffuse, extremist in its ... Fluxus is this enlarged "family": not a group; not a movement; not a
complete identification between art and life in the name of an art by tendency. Really a "species", made up of many "examples" who have
definition ephemeral and not inclined to museumfication.... (Sandra this tendency to circulate within the same "solar system" and who
Solimano) come in and go out as they please with the distinctive nomadism which
shows up above all in their work, with migration from one discipline to
...carrying a new form of humanism like good news which liberated another, often not favoring any one... (Caterina Gualco)
from the now acid incrustations of a history a priori excluded in order to
sweep away absolutist dogmas bitter competition and rivalries with a Da Fluxus in Italia a cura di Caterina Gualco
smile and proposed a lightness of being.... (Gino Di Maggio) 2012 Il Canneto Editore Genova

...The postindustrial era to come will be the strange social hybrid of a

decentralized type do it yourself of distribution, and the material
necessity of a more centralized decision-making process in a highly
technological area.
Until we can say small is beautiful ...someone will remember Fluxus...
and our GM, which is not General Motors, but its opposite... (Nam June
Paik)

...the world of Fluxus and its inhabitants, all of them together,

approachable, sober or not quite, certainly alive, and you can always be
a citizen of this world.... (Edda Gazzerro)

...The group sentiment was that there was not a sentiment of the group
but a quantity of problems and discussions, plus that typical Fluxus
quality thanks to which there exists a permanent discussion between
the three Fluxus columns (1. Europe / Critical Irony, 2. USA / Games, 3.
Asia / Zen).... (Wolf Vostell)
...Fluxus is the most indefinite thing I know. Maybe those men who I
saw in Belgrade at night cleaning the street with a gigantic water pump
an incredibly gigantic pump maybe those men are Fluxus. Indeed I
am certainly. Let us hope that in this moment they are not declaring my
expulsion.... (Giuseppe Chiari)

... Fluxus has been a mother ship for me to explore various oceans....
(Mieko Shiomi)

...Fluxus is not between this and that. Fluxus is everywhere at once.

And nowhere.... (Al Hansen)
