About AXON
Axon Digital Design is one of a rare breed of technology
pioneering companies. Over 25 years, from its base in
the Netherlands, it has grown to become a global leader
in broadcast network infrastructure products and
solutions.

Axon is active and growing on every continent. It has

regional offices in Brazil, China (Beijing and Shanghai),
Germany, Russia, UAE (Dubai), Singapore, UK and USA.
Also, it has an extensive network of specialist systems
integrators that work with many of the worlds leading
broadcasters on every continent. For a quarter century,
Axon has invested in a global distributor network that
supports its operations with value added services and
enterprise operations.

An almost obsessive focus on customer support and a

very consistent product strategy over this time has
generated a list of very loyal customers that would be
the envy of any technology vendor.

What sets Axon apart from other technology vendors?

The 25 years of Axons history have witnessed seismic
changes in the broadcast industry: from analogue to
digital, 4:3 to widescreen, standard definition to high
definition, 2D to 3D, linear passive to fully interactive
and now the growing trend towards multi-platform
distribution, second screen applications and connected
TV.

Throughout all these changes, Axon has pioneered new

Control

With the SynCross modular router there is not only highly flexible I/O types and video standards but also
multiple ways of controlling the system.

Physically there are two types of connectors to control the SynCross router. The Cross-point boards back
panel is equipped with an Ethernet connection. When the system is expanded with one or multiple I/O
boards there are two more types of control possible; this expansion enables control through a serial
connection and/or GPI control both physically available on a
RJ45 connector.

Physical control connections:

RJ45 on BPH25 (Crosspoint)
RJ45 on BPH26 (I/O boards)

SynCross can be controlled in four ways:

Axon Control Protocol (ACP)
Serial SW-P-08
Serial SW-P-08 over Ethernet
GPI

As a widely recognized brand in the industry our products are

easy to control not only by our own control software, Cortex,
but also by third party automation software. Cortex control
panels can be used to control our routers through Cortex which
enables the user to control multiple products within the Synapse
range.
