ABSTRAK

DESCRIPTION OF MALARIA IN PREGNANT WOMEN IN PUSKESMAS

Background : In Indonesian, Malaria is still a major infectious diseases, especially in


the arrea of Eastern Indonesia. The infection can attack all people from all classes
including the most vulnerable groups such as pregnant women.

The purpose of the research : the research aims to know the description of malaria in
pregnant women in the Puskesmas Elly Uyo Jayapura period Januari 2010-March 2014

Metods : This type of research is a descriptive retrospective

Result : This subject of this research consists of 29 people pregnant women with
malaria. Based n the age of the mother, the incidence of malaria in pegnant mothers
most at age 20-35 years of age, gestational age at he trimester II, based on place of
residence on the territory of the senagian plateau, on the type of malaria is most
common on plasmodium falciparum, and on levels of hemoglobin in most cases this is
mild anemia on Hb level with 10-12 gr/dl.

Conclusion : The results of this research can be summed up the description of the
occurrence of the occurrence of malaria in pegnant women is based on the age of the
more experienced by the age group of 20-35 years, based on gestational age figures for
most events are at the age to 2nd trimester pregnancy (13 week-27 weeks), based on the
place of residence is in most cases the amount of the Groups territory, based on a kind
of Plateau type of malaria is plasmodium falciparum, and based on the levels
hemoglobin experienced is mild anemia (Hb 10-12 gr/dl).

Suggestion : To all officers of the health centers to increase outreach to the community
about the dangers of malaria in pregnancy and efforts in the prevention of malaria in
pregnancy so agony number of malaria in pregnant women is increasingly reduced as
well as the need for good cooperation between the health workers to further improve
the service of pregnant women who suffer from malaria.
