Answer True or False. If false, correct the improper sentence.
1. This is the correct use of a semicolon: although they tried; they failed.
2. A semicolon can replace a period if the writer wishes to narrow the gap
between two closely linked sentences.
3. A semicolon is successfully used before words such as but, and, nor, namely,
however, therefore, that is, for example. Example: Bring any two items;

4. Commas indicate a brief pause, however theyre not as final as periods.
5. Commas are not used to separate words and word groups in series of three of

3. Whom is used to refer to the object of a verb or preposition. Whom goes with
