Funding How Can You Help?
God has truly blessed our church over these
many years. When we moved to Whitehall
from Catasauqua in 1993, we purchased our
current building for $370,000. We funded
the purchase with $185,000 cash and a
$185,000 mortgage at 11% interest for 15
years. By God’s grace, we paid the mortgage
off in 7 years.
Presently, we project the cost of this addition
to be $750,000. We have $280,000 in our
building fund. Our plan is to raise cash and
pledges in order to raise the fund to
$375,000. We plan to finance the other half
of the project with loans.
More than fifteen years ago, our church
stepped out in faith with forty people to
acquire our current building with a loan at
11% interest. Now with 140 people, and
significantly lower interest rates, we believe a
loan of $375,000 is a manageable expense.
As God blesses us with more people, the
ability to pay down this loan will only become
easier.
Gift
Many of us are in the position where God has
blessed us that we can give to this project in
one lump sum amount. Now is the time to
give since the financial environment is prime
for building (construction costs are low due
to the economy) and the practical need in
our church’s life is immediate (there is simply
not enough room to fit new-comers in our

Accessibility
Important to note, also, are
the accessibility features of
the addition. A covered car
drive-thru enables unloading
of passengers out of the
elements. An elevator helps
those in wheelchairs and
those who have difficulty
with stairs to move between
floors. More spacious
bathrooms benefit those
with accessibility concerns
and everyone, since there
will be multiple facilities.

The major feature of the new upstairs will be the new worship center, a 70-foot by 62-foot room,
with seating for 300 people. The platform will be the same dimensions as the current one (15’ x
50’), but will be two feet above the seating area. Also, we will enter into a vestibule, rather than
directly into the sanctuary. On the east side of the addition will be a spacious hallway and a
pastor’s study. In Phase 2 of the building program, our current worship space will be divided into
classroom space.
The new section of lower level will essentially be one large gathering space taking up the majority
of the addition. Uses for this new space will be the new AWANA game circle as well as a larger
room for church socials. A stairway to the upstairs can be found in the southwest corner and
utility rooms are located in the northeast corner of this large room. Kitchen facilities will remain
where they are currently, but in Phase 2, we will enhance accessibility to the kitchen, through use
of more counters and the addition of service windows. The current downstairs layout will be
unchanged and double doors will connect the old and sections.
