As a senior at Glencoe High school, I have taken a variety of rigorous classes over the

past 3 years, including partaking in the Health Sciences Career Pathway. I feel as though through
high school I have created good study habits and my grades have reflected this change. I am glad
I am just now peaking with my grades because I believe this will only benefit me at Pacific,
having these vital skills for studying and taking notes in class.
This year I attended the Pacific Health Occupations career day, the Tuality Nursing
Summit as well as a field trip to Virginia Garcia in Cornelius. I enjoyed learning about all the
options I have going into the field of healthcare. On top of this, I have taken and have received
exceptional grades in Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Health Services, and Health
Occupations.
As a health professional, I plan to get a degree in Exercise Science and either go on to
graduate school and get a doctorate in Physical Therapy. I am fascinated by the body and the way
it works. It is amazing what our bodies do just to keep us alive! As an athlete, I thrive on figuring
out how injuries happen and how you can fix them. This is why I have such a passion for
Physical therapy and athletic training. The way an elite athletes mind works is unlike anyone
else. I have had the privilege to know and to have been coached by some great D1 and
professional players and their competitiveness and drive for life, in general, is what I love.
I was given the opportunity to be an intern at Impact Physical Therapy in Hillsboro.
Through this internship, I learned valuable skills that can carry over into the health field,
wherever I end up. I worked on improving talking with patients, and I learned what it is exactly
that I need to focus on in my classes. I also formed great relationships with some very respected
Physical Therapists in the metro-area.
