Primary Sources
The great deceiver: water & alcohol alike in appearance, different in effect. Toronto Public
Library, Prohibition Federation of Canada. Dominion Scientific Temperance Committee,
192-, <http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/detail.jsp?Entt=RDMDC-192-
TEMPERANCEITEM9M&R=DC-192-TEMPERANCEITEM9M>

This library provided me with a primary source, a Temperance Poster. I added this poster
to my site.

Secondary Sources

Keller, Morton; Beth, Mary; Zeitz, Joshua; Holdren, John. The American Odyssey, A History of
the United States. K12 Inc., 2009.

This book is a secondary source of information. It provides information about the

Temperance Movement and Prohibition, amongst many others. I used this book in my
site for explaining how Prohibition came into being through the Temperance Reform.

Delancyplace. "Political Alliances-The KKK and the Anti-Saloon League." BigThink. The Big
Think, Inc. 16 Apr. 2017 <http://bigthink.com/delancey-place/political-alliances-the-kkk-
and-the-anti-saloon-league>

This webpage provides a secondary view on political alliances between the KKK and the
Anti-Saloon League. From this page, I learned about single-issue and narrow-issue
politics and how they have been in dominance since early on. The header on the page is a
picture of a board sign of the Anti-Saloon League, which I, too, used in my site as the
header for the page titled The Emergence of Temperance Movements. I also used the
textual information from the website such as how the ASL strived to expand and soon
became the most influential for Prohibition.

Roots of Prohibition. PBS.org. PBS.org. 2 Apr. 2017

<www.pbs.org/kenburns/prohibition/roots-of-prohibition/>

This website, a secondary source of information, provides information on the Temperance

Reform and how it eventually led to Prohibition. It provides this information in the form
of text, videos, and photos; it provides secondary sources as well as primary sources. I
incorporated information from this site into mine in my webpage, Temperance
Movements, which provides information about the different unions that sprung upon to
advocate the cause against drinking.

"Temperance." History Between the Pages. Villanova University. 2 Apr. 2017

<exhibits.library.villanova.edu/lane/temperance/>
This website, provided by the Villanova University, is a secondary source of information.
It provides some basic information on the Temperance Movement. A first-hand account
of the movement is provided in the site. Additionally, there are lots of Temperance-related
photographs on the left-hand side. I used the one labelled Temperance Pledge Form for
my site on the page that gives information on the foundation of Prohibition.
