Spectrum Two:
DOW CORNING 14 Additive:
Typical Benefits: For water-based coatings to improve mar
resistance, leveling, flow-out and gloss. Can be used to
eliminate pigment floating. Can also be used in solvent systems
Functional i ty : Carbonol
Primary Polymer Systems: Polyesters, alkyds and acrylic
emulsions.
DOW CORNING 29 Additive:
'Typical Benefits: Used primarily for leveling and flow-out.
Imparts mar resistance and antiblocking. Prevents pigment float-
ing.
Functionality: Carbonol
Primary Polymer Systems: Acrylics, epoxies, polyesters, and
urethanes.
Comments: Can be used as an additive to varnish or lacquer
overprint varnishes to improve adhesion, mar resistance, leveling
and gloss. Prevents blocking.
DOW CORNING 51 Additive:
Typical Benefits: Imparts mar resistance and slip to water-
based systems. May also be effective with certain solvent-
based systems--in particular, when an alcohol or polar solvent
is present.
Functionality: None
Primary Polymer Systems: Water-based polymer systems such as
acrylic emulsions, and some alcohol-containing solvent systems.
Comments: A water dilutable, ultra-high molecular weight sil-
icone dispersion. It can be added to water-based inks and latex
paints to impart mar resistance an3 slip.

Spectrum Three(Cont1nued):
DOW CORNING 2-6030 Silane:
Typical Benefits: Used as an additive, promotes adhesion
of a variety of polymer systems to aluminum.
Functionality: Methacrylate-methoxy
Primary Polymer Systems: Acrylic, alkyd, polyester, urethane
arid epoxy.
Coiments: Has not been found to be effective as a primer.
Designated as a methacryloxypropyltrirnethoxysilane.
