DOWNTIME METHODE TO PT XYZ

Abstract

System maintenance affect the smooth operations of the company.


Smooth operations requires the machines and equipment that are always ready to
operate. To keep the equipment is always ready to operate, is necessary to the
maintenance. If the maintenance not done properly, the equipment will be more
easily damaged or suffered more damage than it should have. This will cause a
decrease in the availability of equipment. PT. XYZ is a company engaged in
mining and heavy equipment rental. One work area is an open pit coal mine that
operates twenty four hours a day in South Kalimantan. With a system of contracts
that can be extended every two years, PT. XYZ is required to meet the availability
of heavy equipment by 85% each month. One tool that is leased by PT. XYZ is
PC1250-8R Komatsu Excavator. Along with the trending decline in coal prices
since 2012, which resulted in a decrease in the price of the rental contract, PT.
XYZ required to be able to apply effective treatment strategies both to reduce the
cost of treatment and to suppress the breakdown time. In this study will be
analyzed preventive replacement intervals / preventive replacement of critical
components Komatsu Excavator PC1250-8R. Approach reliability and minimize
downtime will be used together to provide repair business at PT. XYZ.
