Im sincerely sorry to have to say this, but I have a bit of a problem with our
church. I have to be honest but i believe that selling indulgence is very wrong and
inappropriate. This is because I think that we shouldnt have only rich people can buy
themselves to freedom but my family that can just barely support ourselves and the
rich can just have an easy way out of this. I also think that we should be able to read
the bible and by our faith we get decided to go to heaven or not. I think that you
should also when youre born it is decided then if you are going to heaven or not.
Also I think its wrong for the people of the church to have this much power over the
people and forcing the to do things.
I think this is wrong for multiple reasons one of them is that as I said before
that the rich people have an easy and the poor, the majority, have to suffer and will
not be able to go to heaven. Also the inability to be able to afford to go makes no
sense to me. As I also said I think your fate is made when you were born or how
religious you are. In addition to some of the problems you have is the church's
power. You as a religious leader should let us as the people read what we want and
how we do things. Lastly I think we should lower the taxes a bit more because these
expensive taxes are costing my family so much that we may need to sell our dwelling
itself just to pay the taxes.
I think we can solve the first problem by getting rid of the indulgences itself
and let the people study their books and only based on that showed you go to heaven
or if god decided when you were born to go to heaven is the only other reason. Also
we can lower the taxes majorly because you are putting many people to the streets
because of the amount of taxes you are demanding. In addition you have way too
much power over the people not as much as the king but you still are abusing your
power. I think we should make a document that shows the rules of ruling or power. It
would be something like the Magna Carta that England had for the king but it would
be for all with power in general. I hope you understand my letter and didnt take it
too personal or mad at me.
