I. OBJECTIVE:
To check and investigate why the customer installer (KALAYAAN) transfer the electrical
control panel from original position of 42CE fan coil unit.

II SITE SITUATION
1 42CE Fan Coil Unit delivered by CCAC

a. Original electrical box connection b. wire connection is uncut and insulated

2 KALAYAAN transferred/altered the electrical box beside the chilled watered connection
3 FCU wire connection was cut and spliced

IV. OBSERVATIONS
1. The electrical box was transferred by KALAYAAN near at chilled water pipe
2. The electrical wire liquid type conduit was cut and spliced

V. TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
1. Wiring system should be designed and installed so that they minimize the amount of condensed
moisture or water splash that they carry into electrical equipment enclosure may damage the unit
electrical components.

2. A) Unprotected cable its easy to damage plastic-sheathed cable thats left exposed between
framing members. Thats why the electrical code requires cable to be protected in this picture shown
above. Cable is especially vulnerable when unprotected sag and spliced.

B) Missing cable clamp that can protect the wire from pulling.

C) Electrical cable wire was delivered by CCAC is uncut or spliced

As per CCAC standard: All wiring to fan coil unit must comply with local and manufacturers
installation instruction. Electrical wire must be uninterrupted to avoid any damage on FCU and this is the
responsibility of field installation (installer)
 VI. REMARK/RECOMMENDATION
1. Installed rubber insulation for electrical box and metal sheet cover to avoid moisture on
electrical box.
2. Replace the spliced wire w/ insulation and install clamps
