2. The National Civil War Museum


a. The National Civil War Museum has over 24,0000 artifacts,
manuscripts, documents, photographs that have been donated
from the civil war. The museum covers the period of 1850-1876.

3. Eisenhower National Historic Site
a. This is the home and farm of President Dwight Eisenhower. This
is actually adjacent to Gettysburg Battlefield. Eisenhower used
this farm home as a weekend get away and meet with many
world leaders here. You can take a self guided tour or meet with
a ranger and learn about the secret service in the 1950s and
more.

4. Shriver House Museum
a. This house shows you what it was like to live in Gettysburg
during the battle. The house is restored to what it use to be in
the 1860s. There are many items on display that they found
hidden in the walls during the restoration such as letter, toys,
pictures, medical supplies and even live ammunition.

5. The Gettysburg Museum
a. This museum tells the stories of the Battle of Gettysburg. The
museum has 12 galleries and has artifacts and more. The
museum has many interactive stations along with their visuals. It
also included the cause and the consequences of the American
Civil War.

6. Independence Hall
a. This is the birth place of the Declaration of Independence and the
Constitution. While here you can tour the Assembly room, the
courtroom of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Long Gallery,
the Governors council Chamber, and Committee of the Assembly
Chamber.

7. National Constitution Center
a. This site provided many different performances and allows
visitors to explore the Story of We the People exhibit. This exhibit
is hands on and multimedia. It has many artifacts and rare
copies. It also allows students to watch themselves take toe
Presidential Oath of Office and much more.

a. Learn about Benjamin Franklin through the museums artifacts,
computer animations and interactive displays. Learn about his
many adventions and how he helped our country.

9. F. Julius Lemoyne House
a. This house was built in 1812 and was part of the underground
railroad. The owner and his son opened their house to help end
slavery. The owners also believed in education of women. The
house is now a museum with artifacts from the time period.

10. The Amish Village
a. Gives visitors a view at what Amish life is like. You can tour and
authentic property that includes a one room school house, a barn
and its animals, a blacksmiths shop, and more. On tours you can
hear about the Amish life style, stories and traditions.
