GUIDELINE TO THE TEACHERS FOR MARKING SECTIONS A,B, AND C

(014 ENGLISH LANGUAGE PAPER 2)


FOR YEAR 3

2nd SEMESTER FINAL EXAM 2016

1. Read the answer given. Check if the task is relevant to the assessment objectives given.

2. All sentences should be in sentence level.

3. Students have ability to express good ideas should be given due consideration.

STEPS FOR MARKING (SECTION C)

1. Read the answer script as a whole.

2. Place the band.

3. Reread and identify the merits and errors by using given symbols to highlight.

3.1 Errors: Spelling, sentence structure, punctuation, vocabulary and tenses.


3.2 Merits: Simile, idioms, Adverb of manners, linkers, additional details like new or
interesting expressions etc.

4. Reconfirm band.

5. Award mark.

GUIDELINES FOR MARKING SECTION A

1. Students must answer this question.


2. Total marks is 10.
3. Students are require to transfer information from linear text to another which consists of 5 blanks.
4. 2 marks are given if the information is correctly selected, placed and spelt.
5. Only 1 mark is awarded for answers with punctuation, structural or spelling errors.
6. Total distortion or no answers awarded 0 mark.

4. For Section B(ii) a and b:

(i) Respectively 6 marks for each question


(ii) Award 1 mark for each correct answer for B (ii) a. Any punctuation, spelling or structure
error award 0 mark.
(iii) For Question B(ii) b:

a. Total distortion is 0 mark.
