Abstract

Title: WOKPLACE HAZARDS AND RISK REDUCTION PRACTICES OF

SELECTED RESTAURANTS IN LUCENA, CITY

This study aimed to determine the Workplace Hazards and Risk Reduction

Practices of Selected Restaurants in Lucena, City.Specially, it sought to answer the

following objectives; determine the demographic profile of the employees and

managers in terms of age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment and length

of service; Identify the workplace hazards present in the restaurants towards the

respondents in terms of Physical, Ergonomic and Chemical; It also sought to

determine the risk reduction of the restaurants in terms of Property Protection and

Employer Liability; determine the correlation between workplace hazards and risk

reduction among the selected restaurants in Lucena City. The respondents of this

study are 125 employees/managers who experience workplace hazards on selected

restaurants in Lucena, City. The researchers utilized the correlation method in

interpreting the data gathered. The researchers administer a likert-scale questionnaire

to determine the level of agreement between workplace hazards and risk reduction. To

determine the correlation between workplace hazards and risk reduction, the

Spearmans rho was utilized. The result of this study shows that the age bracket of the

respondents who experience workplace hazards under 21-30 years old, in terms of

sex, most of the employees are male, and most of the employees/managers are single.

Moreover, the employees/managers are the highest educational attainment are

college. Most of the employees/managers are 2-5 years in terms of length of service.

For workplace hazards descriptive rating is seldom. For risk reduction practices

descriptive rating is always, the employees are maintained through property

protection and employer liability. Based from the result, there is no significant

between workplace hazards and risk reduction.
