Objective: Students will be able to identify and write down 4 things he/she loves about him/herself on their
puzzle pieces to form a complete I Love Every Piece of Me puzzle.
Materials:
-I Love Every Piece of Me puzzle pieces
-Markers/colored pencils/crayons
-Pens/pencils

Procedure:
1. School counselor will perform this lesson activity during student's English class
2. Give students 5 minutes for students to write, on a scale from 1-10 how they are feeling about
themselves and why (pre-test)
3. Ask students to share one or more things that they wrote down if they feel comfortable sharing with the
class
4. Show students puzzle activity they will be completing
5. Explain that students will write, I love that in each puzzle piece and then write one thing that they
love about themselves
6. Prompt the students to be creative; tell them that they will have time to decorate the puzzle, or write
anything extra that helps to portray the type of person that they are. Encourage students to draw or create
symbols as well.
7. Pass out puzzles
8. Give students 30-40 minutes to complete activity. Allow them to collaborate or work alone, whichever
they chose.
9. After time is up, allow students who feel comfortable to share their responses. Other students may add
responses for their peers.

Assessment: Have students complete the same self-assessment paper from before (post-test). Compare
scores from before/ after the activity.
