The holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr, is celebrated at the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.
Traditionally Eid is celebrated with family, friends, and community members where gifts are exchanged,
families are united, and special food dishes are made in order to commemorate this festive day.
This year, we would like to inaugurate the beginning of the first support, social & discussion group
for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) Muslims, by inviting YOU to come
celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr with US!
Al-Fatiha Foundation is an international organization dedicated to the empowerment of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender
(GLBT) Muslims, including those questioning their sexual orientation/gender identity, and their friends. Our goal is to support
GLBTQ Muslims in their internal and external struggles by sharing individual experiences and institutional resources. Al-
Fatiha also has an Internet, email-based, discussion group for GLBTQ Muslims and their friends. The Gay-Muslims Listservs
purpose is to bring together GLBTQ Muslims in a forum where they can communicate issues of common concern, share
individual experiences, and also gain resources to reconcile their sexuality/gender identity with the religion of Islam. For
more information on either our
organization or to subscribe to the listserv, please contact us: Tel. (617) 685-4175 E-mail: gaymuslims@yahoo.com
