Fundraising Activity
The program has developed a way to receive funds by getting
permission from the school to hold a benefit student-teacher basketball
game. Athletes and teachers/faculty from the school would be able to sign up
and pay a $15 fee to play in an organized basketball game. Depending on
the number of participants we would orchestrate a double header of games.
There would also be a fee for spectators which would be at $5. The idea is to
allow athletes and staff from the school to experience an official type of
basketball game and to have the chance to play each other. The major
expense for this fundraiser would be to pay the officiating crew. Our
volunteers will work at the concession stand. We will have volunteers and
coaches working the scoreboard as well as announcing throughout the game.
They will be assigned a task for one game. If 8 people work the first game
there will be 4 people working the concession stand, 4 people working the
scoreboard as well as keeping points and foul stats. To ensure we have
adequate advertising for this game we will contact the schools in that area
and ask to announce this benefit game over the announcements at the
beginning and end of the school day.
