What is the topic? What is the title?

The title of our lesson is, Celebrations and National Holidays. The topic is, students are
identifying different celebrations and holidays around the world and how that connects
them to who they are as people and their cultures.

What are the National Holidays we have covered and what are they honoring or

Students will be able to identify 75% of the specific National Holidays we have went
over and explain their celebrations within them.

What will you do to introduce the lesson or project? Are the connections to the curriculum and technology
clear?

To start off the class, we will show a Youtube video having different children of different
cultures describe which holiday they celebrate and why. Next, we will ask the students,
Now whats your favorite holiday? Which holidays do you celebrate? Why? How does
that connect to your culture and who you are?

What activities will your student do during this lesson or project?

1. First, the teacher will show the Youtube video link above.
2. After the video is finished, the teacher will ask the students, Now what is
your favorite holiday? Which Holiday do you celebrate? Why? How does that
connect to your culture and who you are?
3. Give about 5-10 minutes of discussion time.
4. Now you will show a prezi on all the national holidays

5. Now, the students will go grab the laptops.
6. Students will now use resource page to research about the holidays.

7. After students research we will have them get construction paper and
project items to create a book.
8. At this point you will explain to the kids what their project is:
a. the project will be a book on the national holidays that they
reviewed.
b. they will be able to add pictures/draw the celebrations of
the holidays and give an interpretation on them.
9. The students will finish this book in three days.
10. The book will be graded through a rubric
