4. Anshul bhai, perfectly cooked. One
thing I always enjoy in bhaturas at
bikanervala is that one doesn't get to
feel even a drop of oil...its dry and
hence quite crisp.

bhatoore wala in sadar...i landed on
bauji ka dhabha...its 100 metres
forward from sardar jalebi wala...it
was good..but i think the famous one
would have been better..after having
there someone suggested it would
have been better if u have had in
rewari sweets....tchhhh....my bad
luck. ..next time now...

glorious reviews and it was an ok
experience. Also found it on a costlier
side given that its a roadside eatery
where you have to self serve yourself
after waiting for good amount of time
for your order.

Anyways, to each his own. If people
like it, I have nothing against it...
5. Made it to this famous eatery and
finally got my plate of
bhatooragoodness. With a ton of
expectation of it being the best GG
has to offer and as close to delhi
taste, first few bites into this artery
clogger and my dreams and
expectation of a good bhatoora in GG
was dashed. Delhicacy
I can barely call it average and I
would be generous. It was oblong and
big in size but with no body, hardly
any fluff to it. Chanas had no harmony
with spices and no anardana like
khatta kick to it. Achaar seemed out
of a pkt absolutely pedestrian stuff.
Bhatooras need to be thick an fluffy
and slightly crisp on the outside
chanas shud be rubbed in
harmoniously with the spices and
create some magic. That's what a
good chana bhatoora is. Those who
have eaten at NAND in Sadar bazaar
delhi, radheyshyam in paharganj and
Monika at vikaspuri would know.
Sorry guys for airing my
uncomplimentary views for a much
loved eatery, but I had to do it as I felt
totally shortchanged whilst eating it.

1. Miserable experience! na
a) You cannot access the outlet if it is
raining or has been raining. There is
virtually a stream of gushing water
right in alongside the footpath. This
makes it impossible to park your car
or walk to the place
We finally parked our car in Omaxe
mall and jumped over the barbed wire
lawns to reach it (yes! Love Dilli street
food enough to want to attempt that)
b) we walked in around 11. The place
smells of oil and fresh paint. Not a
flattering combination
c) while there are menus stacked on
the cash counter we are not handed The street box caf
one. Everything on the menu is not
available so the cashier leans into the
kitchen window to ask the chef what
can be served. Which boils down to -
Pav Bhajji, Chole Bhature and Matar
Kulcha
d) They have no chai
e) They have no bottled water! The
water they serve does not leave you
with a good feeling!
We decided to cancel our order and
walk out!
