Titulo: Magster en Terapia Manual Ortopdica

Categora o Grado Acadmico: Magister.

Titulo o denominacin: Magister en Terapia Manual Ortopdica (MTMO).
Destinado a: Kinesilogos, Licenciados en Kinesiologa, Fisioterapeutas,
licenciados en Fisioterapia y terapistas fsicos.
Certificacin: Magister en Terapia Manual Ortopdica.
Carga Horaria: 2 (dos) aos aproximadamente.
Horas totales: 360 horas presenciales. + 200hrs no presenciales aprox.
Cantidad de Mdulos: El Master est diagramado para ser desarrollado en dos
aos , durante los cuales el alumno tendr 5 (cinco) mdulos anuales.
PROPSITO Y JUSTIFICACIN DEL PROGRAMA:
La Terapia Manual Ortopdica es un rea especializada de la terapia fsica en el

manejo de las condiciones neuro - msculo - esquelticas, basada en el
razonamiento clnico, usando abordajes de tratamiento altamente especficos,
incluyendo tcnicas manuales y ejercicios teraputicos. Adems se basa en
evidencia clnica y cientfica, as como en el marco biopsicosocial del paciente.
Durante estos aos la Terapia Manual Ortopdica ha tomado un papel fundamental

en la resolucin de patologas que los kinesilogos ven da a da, por lo que este
programa forma a los estudiantes con diferentes herramientas utilizables tanto para
la prevencin, tratamiento y rehabilitacin.
Las metodologa a utilizar ser la de llevar la teora a la prctica, mediante clases
expositivas, clases prcticas, guas de estudio, ayudantas, laboratorios de prctica
supervisada, anlisis de casos clnicos, trabajo en grupos, etc
OBJETIVOS DEL PROGRAMA:
Al finalizar el programa el estudiante ser capaz:

1.- Comprender las bases Histricas, biomecnicas y neurofisiolgicas que
fundamentan a la Terapia Manual Ortopdica.
2.- Relacionar las alteraciones posturales con las disfunciones musculares y las
alteraciones en la funcionalidad de las personas.

3.- Realizar una correcta evaluacin ortopdica de las diferentes regiones del cuerpo
humano , con el objetivo de determinar un diagnstico kinesiolgico segn la
condicin de las personas.
4.- Aplicar correctamente diferentes Tcnicas de Terapia Manual Ortopdica*
considerando sus, indicaciones, contraindicaciones, efectos y dosis a utilizar.
5.- Elaborar un plan de accin segn los principios de la Terapia Manual Ortopdica
para las principales disfunciones msculo esquelticas en las personas a lo largo de
todo el ciclo vital.
*Tcnicas de TMO: Movilizacin articular, Neurodinmica, induccin miofascial,

Masaje transverso profundo, trigger point, PIR, Inhibicin por posicionamiento, FNP,
Estabilizacin articular, etc
MODALIDAD:
El postgrado se divide en 3 etapas o Cursos de especializacin, en donde cada uno
se compone de mdulos (2 a 4) de cuatro das de duracin (9 hrs. cronolgicas por
da).
1.- Curso de Especializacin en Terapia Manual Ortopdica aplicada a

extremidades.
2.- Curso de Especializacin en Terapia Manual Ortopdica aplicada a Columna
Vertebral.
3.- Cursos complementarios

EVALUACIONES
- Al final de cada mdulo el alumno deber rendir un examen terico, a travs de

una prueba de seleccin mltiple y preguntas abiertas.
- Al finalizar el curso de especializacin o Diplomado el alumno debe rendir una
evaluacin prctica de todos los contenidos revisados. Esto se evala a travs
de una rbrica en donde se analiza el razonamiento clnico, las destrezas
prcticas y el dominio de la disciplina.
- Las evaluaciones se califican en una escala del 1 al 10 en donde para poder
aprobar debe tener un 7 (siete) lo que corresponde a un 70% de rendimiento.
- Para a las evaluaciones, se requiere que el alumno haya obtenido un mnimo
del 75% de asistencia en cada mdulo ya que se estructura con contenidos
tericos-prcticos de 30% - 70% respectivamente por modulo.
DESARROLLO DE TESIS FINAL
- Para poder acceder al derecho de realizar su tesis y lograr el grado de

Magister, el alumno debe llevar a cabo un trabajo de investigacin clnica o una
revisin bibliogrfica sistemtica usando como base los temas tratados en los
cursos. El tema debe ser dirigido por un tutor del rea y el proyecto de
investigacin o revisin bibliogrfica-sistemtica debe ser aprobada por la
directiva del Magister. Luego de la aprobacin, ser revisado y corregido.
- El alumno quedara reprobado si presenta alguna de las siguientes situaciones:

- Haber obtenido una calificacin menor al 60/100.
- Haber perdido la regularidad del mdulo.
- No haberse presentado en tiempo y forma a la evaluacin, pudiendo
solicitar una recuperacin.
- El alumno que no se hubiese presentado por causa justificada podr
solicitar un examen extemporneo al docente del mdulo afectado,
quien con el director del curso y el comit acadmico decidirn sobre
su aplicacin. El mismo deber realizarse antes de iniciado en
siguiente mdulo.
