What does art consist of?

In the response of the increase in artwork, the analysis of the 21st century has created

more visual representation of art. In Art in the 21st Century, the author Jean Robertson,

the new emerges of numerous different materials and means of art. Robertson states,

many artists regularly and freely mix media and forms (Robertson 5), which means that

artist wants to make the best statement to present their belief efficiently. Public artist

attracted traditional and experimental practices to create well-established genre in the late

20th century. Graffiti was presented as one example of public art and has introduce new

variations of illustrates.
Art has a cultural impact on those who perceive to understand what a piece consists of.

This means that cultural background can influence how people interpret what the artwork

consists of to create meaning. In the journal, The Cultural Importance of the Art, by

Susanne Langer, it explains the connection between cultural education and art education.

Langer strongly agrees that we must understand the meaning of expressive form and

stated, the very nature of art question of its cultural importance (Langer 6), meaning

cultural influences question the form art takes. Expression is being presented as two

meaning, self-expression and expression. Self-expression means a reaction to an actual,

present situation while expression means the presentation of an idea.

Art gives emotional values and different visual appearances that impact human to create meaning

from their imagination. Form, shape, color, style are all examples of how art is define to be as.

Graffiti can be seen as a symbolic expression, in The Cultural Importance of the Art, Langer

explains that language will formulate new ideas as well as communicate old one (Langer 8).

Art will always express its purpose from what is being used in the artwork.
