Classroom Procedures

General Procedures.

A. Beginning of class- Prior to the start of class, students will only enter if I am at the

door to greet them. When I do so, they will enter the classroom and look towards the

chalkboard for their necessary materials needed for that days session.
a. Attendance- This will be done every day after the bell to ensure that students

are present based on assign seating.


b. Previously Absent Students- Those who were absent the previous day will

have to go to the shelves and obtain papers from the assigned day they were

absent and ask any questions about worksheets or notes.


c. Tardy Students- Those that come in after the bell and past attendance, will

enter quietly without disruption and get out the necessary materials that are

needed for that class session. One point will be docked down from their

participation grade.
d. Student Behavior- Students will treat others with respect and give the time to

whomever is talking. There will be no socializing while classroom discussion

is occurring. All cellphones will be silenced and avoided while in class. Noise

level will be at a minimal unless they are discussing among their groups.
B. Materials- Students will be expected to have a notebook or binder with lined paper to

take notes on. Pencil or pens are a requirement. Students will be expected to have

their reading materials in order either a printed out excerpt or the book we are

discussing.
a. Everyday Materials- Students are required to have their notebooks or binders

with notes and room for notes. 1 pen and or pencil for use of writing. Reading

materials for that day.


b. Technology- Students will be informed the day before to bring in their

electronic devices if needed and will be responsible for them. Students will

respect others property and not do any damage.


C. End of Class- Students will work until the last minute of class where they will then

pack up their materials. Overview of any homework or assigned reading will be given

before they leave.


D. Seating and Instruction Procedures
a. Seating- On the first day of class, students will make the decision of where to

sit. However, they need to keep in mind that I will move them if they cannot

stay focus.
b. Talking- Students are able to talk to one another as long as it isnt when we

are having classroom discussion on a lesson or during quiet work. Since the

students are seated in groups, they will have to feel comfortable to talk with

one another.
c. Asking for Help- Students have resource of asking their group members for

help. However, if the entire group is unaware of the concept, they may than

address me and I will bring it up with the entire task so no one else will have

the same struggles until the gain understanding.
