Attention Getter- Our pets makes us feel better, there always there for us, there more than

just a

pet there Familly. Can you imagine if something were to happen to them? it would be pretty

upsetting right? Well what if i were to tell you the amount of animals that are abused each year,

by all kinds of people coming from all different type of ages background ethnics . The sad truth

is that this could be prevented if we just take our time to see the warning sign.

Credibility-Hello, my name is Maria Belen Armijos and I'm a pro advocator on animal abuse and

domestic violence . I have volunteered time and money at my local animal shelter here in

charlotte and have been studying this topic ever since my junior year of high school.

Audience Relevance- It is crucial that we talk about about animal abuse and the link that it has

with domestic violence, especially the effects that it has on the smaller children. If we teach our

kids on a early age how to treat animal we can avoid problems later in the future. People who

grow up in a violent household and don't get help with the problem are very likely to turn on

defenseless animals to release their anger.

Preview Point-Today I'm going to focus on the following points First I will explain the cycle of

violence and how deceiving it can be, secondly I will discuss how animal cruelty playa role in

domestic violence and how one thing can lead to another Lastly I will talk about why the victims

of the abuser stay and where they can go with their pet for safety

Point 1 : The cycle of violence is an ongoing rotation that has different phas
Subpoint 1: The cycle of abuse starts off minor's situation like verbal abuse, Using foul

language, Making you feel less and isolating you from your family

situation continues

don't know about other resources that there is out there for them and the pets

so many programs out there that are willing to help not only you but your pet as well
