It is observed that, no. of Medical reimbursement bills are being received for post
facto permissions which are cases of treatment taken at unrecognized hospitals and without
prior permissions.

On analyzing of the cases, it is observed that requests received for post facto
permissions constitute cases like deliveries, routine diabetic cases, fractures, hysterectomy,
tubectomy etc., which are not emergency in nature and which can be treated in permitted
hospitals.

It is to be noted that post facto permission will be given only for life threatening and
emergency cases like Accidents, Cardiac arrests , Kidney failures and Neuro problems like
blood clotting in brain etc., which if delayed may cause their life. For such cases only post
facto permission shall be considered and all other cases will be dealt as per existing medical
scheme.

In emergency cases after admitting of the patient in the nearest hospital, patients
relatives should intimate to the concerned Superintending Engineer/Operation by sending a
team consisting of Divisional Engineer/Technical and the controlling the Divisional
Engineer/Concerned and the team should submit the report on genuineness of the case and
necessity for admission into the hospital within 24 hours. The Superintending Engineer /
Operation concerned shall ascertain and certify that the case deserves post facto permission
which is emergency in nature.

Bills without following the above conditions will be rejected in future.
