3. Important SAP HANA Security Information

During our security patch day in March, SAP published a blog with a list of SAP "Success comes from

SAP HANA Multitenant Database Containers SAP Note 2104291

This SAP Note will help you preparing for the use of, or using, SAP HANA
multitenant database containers.

The feature "SAP HANA multitenant database containers" (or, "MDC") was first
introduced starting with SPS09. The concept is based on a single SAP HANA
system or database management system (DBMS), with a single system id (SID),
which contains at least one tenant database, in addition to a system database.
The system database keeps the system-wide landscape information, and
provides configuration and monitoring system-wide. Users of one tenant
database cannot connect to other tenant databases and neither access
application data there (unless the system is enabled for cross database access).
The tenant databases are, by default, isolated from each other in regards to
application data and user management. Each tenant database can be backed up
and recovered independently from one another. Since all tenant database are
part of the same SAP HANA DBMS, they all run with the same SAP HANA
version (revision number). In addition, in regards to HA/DR, the defined HA/DR
scenario applies to all tenant database.

Is there an EarlyWatch Report for SAP HANA?

Now that you have installed Solution Manager, you want to know if
an EarlyWatch Report is available for SAP HANA.

In order to use EarlyWatch reports for SAP HANA, the server where SAP HANA
is running must be prepared according to SAP Note 1542651. For more
information see SAP Note 1257308 - FAQ: Using EarlyWatch Alert. In addition
to EarlyWatch reports when using Solution Manager with SAP HANA, you can
also view your SAP HANA instance in the System Landscape Directory of SAP
Solution Manager. With SAP HANA you also have the ability to provide SAP
support with a service connection for secured access to your SAP HANA server
using the SAP Router.

Why is the UNCOMPRESSES_SIZE sometimes smaller than the

MEMORY_SIZE_IN_TOTAL?

SAP Note 2112604 was extended with information on the typical reasons why
an UNCOMPRESSED_SIZE is displayed that is significantly smaller than the
MEMORY_SIZE_IN_TOTAL.

In theory, the uncompressed size should never be larger than the total memory
size, otherwise the compression would have a negative impact on size.

 6. Maintenance Revisions of SAP HANA Platform SPS
That Are Now Available for Download

SAP HANA 2.0 Support Package Stack (SPS) 00 Database Revision 002 of
SAP HANA Platform Edition is now available externally for media download on
SAP Service Marketplace.

Please see SAP Note 2429940 - SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 00 Database Revision 002

If you upgrade from a lower SAP HANA SPS it is recommended to update ALL
other components (Studio, Modeler, DB Clients, DBSL, SLT, DS, ...) to at least
the minimal version of SAP HANA 2.0 SPS 00.

As of 9th January 2017, the Maintenance Optimizer (MOPZ) in SAP

Solution Manager 7.1 has retired. Its successor is SAP Solution Managers
cloud-based Maintenance Planner.

The Maintenance Planner enables:

- Easy and efficient planning of all changes in your SAP system
landscape
- Offers integrated processes for SAP Fiori apps and SAP S/4HANA
- All critical aspects of landscape maintenance in one tool.
 Maintenance Planner has been available since Q2 2015. With the sunset of

Meet Ryan Malcolm, Focus Advisor, SAP Cloud

Hi, I am Ryan Malcolm - one of the Focus Advisors for the Enterprise Support Value Map
for SuccessFactors.

I have been with SAP for almost 5 years all of which has been spent within Active Global
Support (AGS) and Digital Business Services (DBS) within the SAP ANZ Enterprise
Support Advisory team and I am based in the beautiful country of New Zealand, Aotearoa -
The land of the long white cloud land.

As an Enterprise Support Advisor I help customers to manage technical risk in all phases of
the SAP application lifecycle by providing them access to a multitude of SAP resources. I
also spend my time automating processing via coding and am involved in a global cloud
project for customers. In the past 2 years my focus has been towards the cloud & hybrid
world ensuring customers understand how support works with the different environments and
ensuring success of customers in the changing world being impacted by digital
transformation. My interested is particular to integration, security and how SAP Cloud
Platform also fits within all of this.

In my spare time I am kept busy with my wife and my 2 children. As well, I also enjoy
programming, spending time on the motorbike, and being a volunteer youth & childrens
leader.
