My Teaching Philosophy

Introduction
I believe that education plays a significant role in any society. How can we
imagine life without education? There would be no changes in human
habits and thoughts there would be no improving and developing in
communities. Most countries planning for a new vision to reduce illiteracy
and compete with other countries focus on the quality of education. Link
this to the UAE Vision 2021 that aims to complete change in the education
system and teaching method by providing the schools and universities
with smart systems and devices. This vision also focusing on improve the
students' abilities in reading, mathematics and science. In this teaching
philosophy I will discuss about the learning ,assessment, technology and
.applying effective strategies and activities

Learning
In my point of view, learning is a simple word, but it contains much
meaning to me. Learning is the knowledge that we get around us: it can
be from friends, family, social media, TV, and newspapers. Learning gives
people chance to become with an open mind for new things in life . As
students every day they learn new things from a variety of the subjects
that they take .The experiences in life give me the chance to become
stronger and find solutions for any situations in my life. Learning is also
not confined to only lectures but also through practice. For example, in
each semester we do teaching practice which is useful for us because we
are inside class teaching and dealing with students. Learning is not
confined to a certain age or gender. Anybody can learn whether they are
.children or older, men or women

Assessment
I think that tests only measure the students understanding the lessons by
giving them marks, but this is not truth. As we work and study in HCT the
five competencies, the fourth competency which is " Using different types
of assessment " (HCT teaching practice, 2017).This guides me how it is
essential for using various types of assessments to check the students
understanding. The assessment could be during the lessons, at the end of
a unit, the semester or year. For example, during my previous teaching
practice I used formative assessment to check student understanding
through the activities that I applied in the lessons and the questions that I
asked them. Therefore, I think that assessment is extremely important in
teaching because how will I know my students learning process going on
.and what area that I need to work on it to improve my student's skills

The technology
I believe that using technology is important because it affects the
methods of teaching in the classes and the students performance.
Previously, teachers used the boards or books, and there was no devices
or types of equipment. Nowadays, they provide smart boards, data shows,
and computers. It facilities the teachers in work and prepare their lessons.
In my teaching experience, I used different devices which help me in
explaining my lessons such as data show, laptop, and iPad. For example,
during my last teaching practice, I had a lesson about animals, I used an
app that called the sound of the animals, and the students were
interactive with the app and me. Moreover, using technology in the
classroom makes the learning more fun especially when the students have
an annoying or not interest in some subjects. It can become more
attractive with showing them videos, pictures or games (Cox,2009) So,
using technology in the classes affects the performances of the students

.and how they interact and participate with the teacher

Effective strategies and activities

In my point of view, using effective strategies and activities is necessary
as a teacher because it affects how her lessons going on and her
students' performance in the class. As I did several teaching practices in
several schools and I applied different strategies, I noticed that planning
the activities depend on the student's interest is successful strategy. For
example, I planned one of my lesson to the theme of the castle and the
princess, where students wear crowns, they imagine that they will be
princesses, and they will visit a Castle. I observed that my students are
active and they enjoy the lesson. Another example, I implement Elsa
Says activity as I know that my students love this character and my
students were so active and at the same time motivated. So, planning
tasks based on the students interest is a good way to engage them and
attract their attention during the lessons (McCarthy,2014). Also, the
students will be more interest in doing the activities, and they will do it
.well

Conclusion
In conclusion, in my teaching philosophy, I mention five aspects which are
the education in general and link it to UAE Vision 2021, the learning,
.assessment, technology and applying effective strategies and activities
