Sacrum
Horror subgenre hybrid of psychological horror
and paranormal horror
Our horror opening is inspired by The Women in
Black and Carrie. Our antagonist Daisy leads a
secret, yet oddly unexpected, double life; high
school girl by day, satanic murderer by
afternoon. Suddenly her terrifying practices are
uncovered by those she was bullied by.

The film starts with Daisy alone in her
house painting a satanic symbol. The
fanatically religious nun who took Daisy in
and raised her, sees the satanic symbol
and realises that Daisy has been
possessed. She attempts to exorcise her
and is killed after she exorcises the demon
out of Daisy.
A few years have passed and Daisy is now
in high school where she is constantly
bullied by her peers for being different.
Daisy suffers from depression and PTSD
due to her being possessed when she was
younger, and relies heavily on her
antidepressants.
There is a massive prank played on Daisy
where she is humiliated in front of a large
crowd. This prank is led by Daisys main
tormentor Tiffany.
Once home Daisy ends up in a half-
conscious state where she takes her pet
bird and sacrifices it. She only wakes up
and realises what she has done after she
has drawn a pentacle with the birds
blood.
A few days later Daisy experiences this
half-conscious state again and wakes up
to find that she has sacrificed a few more
animals. She remembers that this used to
happen to her before she got possessed a
few years ago.
Daisy and Tiffany are made to work
 together in a project and Daisy offers for
them to work at her house. Once inside
Tiffany comes across the sacrificial table
full of dead animals and attempts to leave
but she is killed and sacrificed by Daisy.
During this sacrifice, Daisy accidently
summons and becomes possessed by the
demonic spirit that used to possess her
when she was younger.
Cut to the next day with police out looking
for Tiffany and the police finding a suicide
note that belonged to Tiffany. They also
find her body washed up on the bank of
the local river
Her friends dont believe that Tiffany killed
herself so try to investigate the suspicious
circumstances of her death.
There are more disappearances and
satanical symbols that have been painted
with blood are found around town.
Sammy, one of Tiffanys friends, goes
home to find a dead lamb on her door
step.
Tiffanys friends go into a library to try and
investigate Daisys past and find an old
insert of a newspaper about a 13-year-old
killing a Nun and recognise that the child
is Daisy.
The group of friends go to Daisys house
and try to confront her about the death of
Tiffany. Originally Daisy denies everything
but the group spot a detached limb in the
kitchen. This causes Daisy to snap and
goes after the group of friends.
The friends are split up from each other,
three turn left into daisys room whilst the
two others run into the bathroom and lock
themselves in and call the police but there
was no service.
Screaming, running and shouting is heard
from outside the bathroom and all at once
it stops
The last two friends leave the bathroom to
see three dead people in Daisys room.
They walk in to the room to see satanic
symbolism and a pentacle on the floor
surrounded by candles and realise its her
sacrificial room.
The two girls look for daisy but cant find
her. They eventually make their way back
to Daisys sacrificial room.
They turn around to see daisy looking out
of the window (with her back to the two
 girls) muttering to herself.
The demonic spirit then begins to talk to
the two girls through Daisy explaining how
it saved Daisy from the abusive nun when
she was a child and how it was saving her
again from those who has bullied her.
The two girls regret turning a blind eye to
Tiffanys actions and not helping Daisy.
However, they realise that they have to
kill Daisy to save everyone from Daisy and
the demonic spirits revenge.
Daisy then attempts to kill the two girls
but one of the girls grabs an aerosol can
from her backpack and the other grabs a
lighter from Daisys desk. They create a
flame thrower to burn Daisy and proceed
to kick down candles and leave her house.
One girl stays behind to break a gas pipe
within the house and as they both run to
leave the lighter is thrown behind them to
explode the house.
They assume that Daisy is dead and go
home.

Justification for your ideas You need to explain how your ideas link to the genre,
task and also your target audience.
Our plot is typical of the horror genre as it involves semantic and syntactic conventions
which are often portrayed in a typical horror film. We also involved theories such as
Strauss theory of binary oppositions, which is evident in our plot through many
situations. I.e. good vs. evil, religion vs. Satanism and life vs. death. These are strong
examples of binary opposites which are typically presented in films of the horror genre.
From the results of our target audience questionnaire, we found that the majority of our
audience is female, therefore, as a response to that we decided to have a larger number
of female characters within the film so that the audience can gain the audience
pleasure of relating to the characters easier. At the end of the plot we decided to keep
the remaining two characters that survived, female in correspondence to the target
audience questionnaire results. This reinforces Clovers Final Girl Theory as the two
girls are no longer the damsel in distress as during the final confrontation with Daisy,
the two girls become masculinized through their killing of Daisy.
