China Unit-Assessment (100 points)

World History-Vecsi

Goal: Students will create a website (w/multiple pages) to inform their classmates and other viewers of the different factors that promoted
and discouraged the unification of China.

Topics:
Government: legendary emperors, Shang dynasty, Zhou dynasty, Qin Shi Huang dynasty, Han dynasty and Tang
Philosophies: ancestor veneration, Confucianism, Daoism, Legalism
Trade: exchange of goods during the Shang dynasty, merchants during the Han dynasty, Silk Road routes
Social Groups: artisans, imperial family, merchants, nobles, officials, peasants, slaves, soldiers
Architecture: Shang tombs, Great Wall, bilateral symmetry, feng shui, Li Bing, Forbidden City
Innovations: paper making, standardization of writing, weights & measures, gun powder, magnetic compass, silk, tea, medicine
The Arts: Tang poetry, Song dynasty painting, porcelain from various dynasties, jade, the terracotta army and the tomb of Qin Shi Huang

Instructions:
- Working in groups of 4-5, all students will use the Weebly website builder to create their site
*Roles & responsibility: all groups will have at least one technical person, two researchers and one or two writers depending on the
chosen role.
*Students will earn the same grade as long as there are equal contributions and it is up to our discretion to give modified grades.
- Websites will have a homepage explaining the overall significance of your groups topic.
-Minimum of 3-5 pages each dedicated to a subtopic
-Each page must include text (150-200 words) and images and be aesthetically pleasing
-Your website must have at least one uploaded video, one map and visible recognition of all groups members roles. The recognition of all
members roles should be a clear and detailed task list.
-Works Cited document must be embedded on the homepage of the website.
