Dear Mrs. Criswell,

I recently met with the editor-in-chief of your publication who informed me that The Reflector &
The Reflector Online is currently looking for an entertainment editor. I have always taken an
interest in your publication and am very excited at the possibility of doing journalistic work for
The Reflector & The Reflector Online.

I am a fourth year Communications major with concentrations in Public Relations and

Journalism. The Journalism and PR programs here at the university are practical and competitive
and I am excelling in courses thus far. Besides my formal education, I have gained skills from a
variety of non-school related projects. I have expanded my writing, digital photography and
graphic design skills from running my own fashion blog, The Collegiate Catwalk. During my
current term as the Vice President and Programming Committee Chairmen of Kappa Chapter of
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., I perform a multitude of tasks like craft and execute event
plans, design flyers and perform administrative functions. I also currently serve as the President
of UIndy Fashion Society where I perform many of the same functions. I recently founded my
own mentoring program, which has allowed me to grow in my leadership abilities. I enjoy
writing, reading and public speaking.

My innovative natures, campus-savvy thinking, and desire to continuously expand my

knowledge and skillset, makes me an ideal candidate for the Entertainment Editor Position. If
