1. SCOPE

This Standard establishes the minimum cold bend radii to be indicated on

drawings for steel sheet parts, for bend angles () of 0 and 90, as a function of
the sheet thickness.
NOTE
This Standard is not applicable to the standard sheet parts (double curvature). In
this case, consult Material Engineering and Process Engineering. See MPA-
Chapter 7.

2. APPLICABILITY

This Standard is applicable to carbon steel, low alloy steel and corrosion resistant
steel sheet bending.

NOTES

1) Under no circumstance, a bend radius lower than that specified in Table 2

should be used. However, greater radii may be used.

2) For bend angles lower than 90, those minimum radii values listed at column
= 0 in Table 2 should be used.

3) For bend angles greater than 90, those minimum radii values listed at column
= 90 in Table 2 should be used.

4)For sheet metal formed parts, a reduction of the bend radii in the joggle
washout according NE 03-080, due the double bend in the joggle vertices is
acceptable, provided the bend radii in the others areas comply with Table 2. In
this case non destructive inspection and rework are not necessary.
